Beautiful cabin on inlet to Cranberry Lake in the peaceful Adirondack mountains.

WATERFRONT- Wanakena Inlet with access to Cranberry Lake.
Enjoy this beautiful private setting in a wooded lot right on the Wanakena inlet leading into Cranberry Lake. A perfect setting for water fun including canoeing, kayaking and motor boating. We have in included four kayaks and one canoe for your pleasure. Sit and relax on the small sand beach right next to the dock.

The cabin is a level drive from the road, making loading and unloading very convenient. There is only a slight incline from the cabin to the water's edge, no stairs! A favorite morning activity is sipping a cup of coffee on the dock watching the beautiful sunrise over the trees and shimmer on the water is.

Evening campfires overlooking the water give enjoyment to all and make lasting family memories. Enjoy the cabin peace and quiet along with all the outdoor activities the Adirondack Park has to offer.

Use the cabin as your complete get away, work remotely (yes there is internet)or as a home base to enjoy the surrounding Adirondack activities. Explore the areas other streams and ponds, hiking, fishing, mountain climbing, and camping out. The cabin is in walking distance of the Wanakena footbridge, tennis and basketball courts.

WINTER time is so picturesque on the lake. Activities can include snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing or downhill skiing at one of the nearby ski resorts. Enjoy sitting by the warm, cozy wood stove reading a book and watching the snowfall.

A public boat launch is available in the town of Cranberry Lake.
The main house is 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. There is a separate sleeping cottage with a sleeping loft and sitting area, see photos. This sleeping cottage is not including in the bedding configurations and is only useable in the summer months and separate from the house.

We had a lovely stay on this peaceful lake. We especially loved kayaking with the beavers. The host was accessible, friendly, and gave us some good recommendations for the area.

Great Adirondack experience!

The cabin, was very cozy and a beautiful view of the water,. Being a woodworker I really appreciated the Adirondack furniture.My family and I really enjoyed the surroundings. We did some fishing and had some nice campfires, and took a nice walk over and around the footbridge Rich is a very gracious host! I would recommend it to anyone who would just like a relaxing stay !

Excellent booking all around

Our family of five spent the week canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and relaxing on this beautiful riverfront property. The ownersā€™ pride in their cottage shows in how clean and maintained the property is. Directions were clear, check-in was a breeze, and everything in the house was clearly labeled. We hope to book again in the future.

Enjoyed our second year staying here on Cranberry Lake! Rich is very responsive and the house has everything you need for a lake getaway. We always spend most of the trip out on the water fishing!

Just what we were looking for!

We very much enjoyed our stay! Host was responsive and we feel the place was even better than the listing. Our young kids especially loved the small loft house on the property and the adults loved the enclosed porch! We would love to go back!

Quiet, beautiful lake!

My husband, father, and I really enjoyed our stay on Cranberry Lake! Rich was helpful answering questions, and the house was true to the listing; it had everything needed for our vacation. We also caught a lot of awesome fish! :)

Rainy Week

This was our second stay in Rich's camp. We love the location, plenty of hiking trails are found nearby. Although the weather left much to be desired, the family still enjoyed our time in Wanakena. Rich is a great host - investigating questions we gave him. Looking forward to a return trip next year.

Perfect Getaway

The cottage is beautifully situated and has everything you need. It was great to have the kayaks , the dock, and the fire pit. The cottage was very clean and as described. The town of Wanakena is lovely and there are nice trails to hike nearby. There is a nice, small grocery/convenience store in town, but you should try to bring most of your food as there are no restaurants or large grocery stores nearby. We had a great week and would recommend this cottage.

Return visit

Thank you Rich for another great stay at your property in Wanakena. We had everything we needed in the spacious, well stocked, well cared for house. This is our second stay and we noticed the improvements you've made-the flowers are beautiful! Thanks for accommodating our three little ones ages 5, 6, and 7-they all had a joyous time playing in the water, fishing, and just running free.

The perfect setting

Iā€™m trying to find the right words but all I can think of was a perfect Adirondack experience with our family. I brought a 16ā€™ motorboat which enhanced the value by being able to explore Cranberry lake and itā€™s breathtaking. Rich was so nice to deal with and actually reached out a month in advance to answer any questions for our upcoming trip which I thought was really helpful. My teenage girls absolutely loved our trip, Especially catching fish right off the dockā€¦.This place is a gem. 10/10

Great for family vacation

We rented this cabin during the last week in June 2021 for a family vacation. It was perfect for 3 adults, a 6 year old and a 3 year old. The cabin had plenty of room and all items we could possibly need. The owner was very thoughtful in trying to think of everything we would need/want. It was clean and well taken care of. The dock was lovely and we spent a lot of time fishing, swimming, and just enjoying the view and quiet setting. The location of the cabin allowed us easy access to short outings: the Cathedral Fire Tower, the Moore Trail, the suspension bridge, playgrounds, and beach in Wanakena, as well as the longer trip to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake. We had a great time-thank you Mr. Brown for sharing your cabin with us!

Beautiful and peaceful place to stay!

My wife, our three daughters and I have been going to the Adirondacks for many years and we have stayed at many different places on Indian, long and Cranberry lake. This Property has a wonderful layout and is situated nicely on a beautiful site. We LOVED sitting in the screened in porch and soaking up the sights and sounds of this beautiful Adirondack property. It is incredibly well organized and clean. You can tell the owner works really hard to make sure you have everything you need including sheets and blankets (that his cleaning service changes between stays), a well equipped laundry room, an outdoor grill and kayaks and a canoe. This was the first time I felt like I didn't need to pack everything but the kitchen sink! Rich was a wonderful host and he called us a couple times in advance of our trip to answer any questions we might have and provide some great information about the lake including the best places to fish and where to take the kids swimming. To sum it all up, this was by far the nicest place we have stayed at and we highly recommend this for anyone who appreciates a clean, well equipped and peaceful getaway to the Adirondacks!

Great Getaway

Our family enjoyed our relaxing week in Wanakena. The camp was lovely, exceptionally clean and the 5 of us had plenty of space to relax. Rich is a great host - there was a network problem with WiFi upon arrival. Rich was completely available to get the issues solved.

Wonderful

We absolutely loved staying here!!! Gorgeous lake views and we spent a lot of time sitting at the dock. Definitely visit the close restaurant for breakfast or lunch (Black water cafe), it's delicious!!

Wonderful stay

The property was immaculate, and the location was awesome. We took the canoe out fishing, and had a great time. Wanakena is a super cute town, and everyone was very friendly. We definitely want to stay again.

Just beautiful

This cabin is just beautiful ... perfectly appointed, great setting, comfortable furniture and beds. Kitchen is ideal for quick bites or cooking a full meal (which I did!) Our weather was ideal fall temps and we loved walking to the Ranger School and on the trails nearby. Even the little cafe a mile down the road is delicious and friendly ... we really enjoyed getting to know the owners and locals alike. I definitely had to plan ahead for groceries since the nearest grocery store is 40 mins away, but the cafe had any small items I needed to get me through the night. Beautiful cabin - would definitely recommend!

Beautiful Fall Stay

Had a wonderful stay amid the autumn colors. House was very clean and well outfitted. Enjoyed cool hikes, kayak paddles, and campfires before returning to the warm, cozy house. Everything felt updated and in great condition. Rich was very personable and shared lots of helpful information about the house and the area before we arrived. Would definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful cabin on the water

We really loved the location and all the amenities this cabin offered! It was great having our coffee out on the dock and relax by the fire at night. They have everything there for your stay minus the food which was convenient. The only thing that was hard with kids was the dock but it was manageable. Also there is a small area to swim with a sand bottom but it's not a real sand beach. The only suggestion I would have for the cabin itself is to have a TV downstairs as well and not just upstairs so that if you have a rainy day there is something to do especially for the kids. Overall we had a great time and I would recommend this place!!
