"My Playhouse" Est 2013, - 1br, 1b cabin w/ wrap around screened porch, located 2.5 miles from I-10. Newly constructed in 2013 with families' treasures. The cabinets/island are made of "old sinker cypress" from "My Playhouse", built by my father in the late 1960's. Come relax and enjoy all the comforts of home in a quaint little cabin with beautiful views and experience our local culture.

Perfect Peaceful Place

This is the perfect place between Lafayette and Baton Rouge to get away and relax! The house is absolutely beautiful!!! Owners are exceptionally nice!

Fantastic!

My daughter and I were in Louisiana for a twirling competition and could not find a hotel close to Layfette. This quiet and quaint place popped up and we are so glad we stayed! Very clean and stocked with everything we would need. The power was out when we arrived as there was a big storm that had rolled through; however, I was still able to get in with no problem. The power came back on after an hour and had zero issues. If you are looking for a place to enjoy Louisiana that is outside of the big city, this is it!

Grand Peaceful Cottage

The cottage was a beauty loved all the cypress wood thru out this little home it had a lot of character. My favorite was the claw foot tub with the chandelier, the water was as hot as you would want it to be. It was my own little personal oasis!The wrap around porch was very nice for cooking and hanging out. It was very private on family land, and Mr. Buz was a great host with the family history. The location was perfect for us. Thank You!

Shepard stay

Buzz and Angel were great. The property is clean, well set up. We appreciated the wrap-around porch. One suggestion would be to make the property easier to find in the dark.

Beautiful, classy getaway in Cajun Country

Just loved it. And the hosts were extremely accommodating given extreme winter weather which hit south Louisiana during our stay, which derailed our travels home. I can't thank them enough for their flexibility and understanding given the freezing rain and frigid temperatures we faced. The cottage is beautiful and the added amenities make this an 11/10. We really hope to return!

Absolutely loved it. The owner came to greet us and passed some unique history of the property and the people who lived there. We will definitely be going back. Loved this place.

Cute and cozy

The house has so many personal touches and history built into it. It literally is built from love! Buz and Angel are very thoughtful and kind and had great communication. The property felt cozy and so relaxing. We even spent time in the hammocks. Overall we are very pleased and would stay again. Thanks Buz & Angel!

“My Playhouse”

This was an extremely clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. Angela & Buz were very nice and responded to our needs. We met and had coffee together. We will definitely return and tell our family & friends!!!

Comfortable and Cozy

Perfect weekend getaway. The property was well maintained and had everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Perfect size for 2. Property owners are extremely nice, we would stay here again if we're in the area.

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I wanted a weekend focused on quiet time and no responsibilities and this location allowed us just that dream. We appreciated the hospitality and will hopefully find ourselves in this location or another one of their properties soon. Great hosts!

Love it

We stayed a year ago for our honeymoon and went back for our first anniversary because we loved the place and the area. There are some great restaurants and antique shops we’ve visited.

Comfortable, clean, pleasant accommodation

We met the owners during our stay, and they were kind & friendly. Their cottage is spotlessly clean, with many needs anticipated, including a welcome bottle of wine. The screened porch is relaxing, there is a covered area for the car, and the area is very quiet and peaceful.

Very convenient and spacy southern cabin, with all facilities in ans around the house, mostly made of wood with great accuracy and joy to the past and the present. Staying at the Playhouse for a few days is like modern living in the past. Great tourist possibilities nearby and somewhat further away. A paradise for a couple who like southern luxury and a restful time

Sweet surprises everywhere!

While the pictures are technically accurate, they don’t convey how AMAZING this property really is! The house is a dream! All the best amenities - from the kitchen (top of the line large appliances and deluxe Kuerig, a wine fridge, all the best small appliances and kitchenware PLUS coffee,creamer, sugar, spices) to the restroom (everything you have in yours plus a cute sit down vanity and clawfoot tub AND shower) to the bedroom (an comfy SleepNumber bed and soft sheets) to the screened-in porch(rustic decor, several seating areas including rockers, gas grill and NO bugs). The decor inside tells a 100 little stories! Ask about the penguins!! There are many unexpected gems you’ll keep discovering during your stay. Fantastic communication with Angel and Buzz, with a personal greeting that includes a tour and historical family stories that touch every part of this sweet little home. Outside - the ponds, trees, swing, fire pit and hammocks - all special touches that made it difficult to go back inside. If you pack underwear and pick up a few snacks at the Pig, you have everything you need for a relaxing weekend away! We WILL be back to enjoy this slice of country heaven!

Great Staycation Getaway!!

My husband and I spent the weekend at “My Playhouse” recently and enjoyed our time there so much! We needed a quiet getaway and that is exactly what we got. The cottage was well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. We only wish the weather would have been a little warmer so that we could have enjoyed the great wrap-around porch. That was no one’s fault…it was beautiful, but cold. We did walk around the pond on the second afternoon. Angel was available for any questions we had prior to arrival, and during our stay. The complimentary bottle of wine was such a nice touch and I enjoyed sipping it while we just enjoyed time together. If you are looking for a clean, well-appointed cottage for a getaway, or in our case, a “staycation” you should really consider staying here.

Great place!

It is a very cozy cabin and the people were Excellent the cabin owners meet us at cabin and helped carry luggage into cabin I have stayed at several cabins in the past where they was not properly represented but not this cabin owners are very helpful and nice
