Worst experience ever

I had booked this place for 2 days, it was a valentines getaway from my fiancé.. we'll check in we walked in and I instantly heard yelling from across the hall, cussing, kids screaming etc.. I smelled a nasty moldy smell instantly.. Being someone with severe asthma I instantly started to sneeze, runny nose, watery eyes etc... we walked back to the pool area and it was by far the nastiest pool I've ever seen!! Looked like dead skin was floating on top of the water ( I even have pictures ) so with that being said we instantly walked out, I tried contacting the number that was sent with check in instructions I even texted it ( sent pictures ) and it took them 1 whole day to reach back out to me.. ( and it wasn't from the number they left to reach out to ) I eventually spoke with a women named (CJ) and she advised that in order for me to get a 50% refund I had to cancel the reservation which I had tried doing through VRBO and they said the manager has to approve cancellation and that this was considered a "minor" issue since they were having the pool cleaning company come out the next day to clean the pool. So me having severe asthma and having a allergic reaction to the moldy smell is considered " minor " ??? so "CJ" said her boss usually refunds at least 50% but that has to be discussed in their next "meeting" which will be in 2 weeks, so I'm out of pocket $718 for this place as well as $400 that I had to pay to stay somewhere else... these people are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE !!! Very very dirty.. the only clean room of this place was the bathroom surprisingly !

comfortable and suitable

Adequate rooms for a short stay. Clean rooms. It lacked instructions on how the TV works, a container for the coffee maker is missing. A big problem is the noise from the other side of the barn door. TV noise on until dawn, voices, laughter. etc.

Pros: comfortable bed, nice space, modern looking and freshly painted. A/C worked well. Cons: pool was gross and not cleaned. Hot water heater shut off and I had to reset it myself so i could take a shower. Towels were cheap and tiny. No tissues or garbage cans were provided. No shampoo, conditioner etc. The only thing provided was a half bottle of the cheapest body wash. Not even hand soap! No change of sheets was provided or daily cleaning service. So very very poor amenities and service.

Problems one two three.

I don’t received the key access, so I will call for it. I don’t received WI Fi access so I will to call and not Roku control so I don’t see nothing on the TV for two nasty days.

Lack of communication from host

I arrived in Tampa on the 24th and needed assistance accessing the property. I called the co host and inboxed the host and never received a response from either. I spoke with a guest at the property and they helped me. Then once I got in. I didn’t see any password information for the WiFi. Again I contacted the host and got no response. This was a working trip for me and I needed WiFi to do my job. So after waiting 2 for a response I booked a room at a nearby hotel. Unfortunately we pay for VRBO in advance which means I was out of luck And had to pay additional money to stay somewhere else. This is unacceptable. And I need a refund for my stay or should I say non stay.

Not Advertised Correctly

Upon arrival the unit was extremely hot and smelled very musty. The street trash cans are just outside the unit door and I don’t think trash had been picked up in over a month—pretty gross with trash spillage and smelled horrible with the heat. We had no trash bags in the unit, so I bought my own. The unit wasn’t really clean either—seemed to have been cleaned by the owner rather than a professional—not to mention the bag of used linens left in the unit. The listing is advertised as private guest house. This was not private at all. There is a barn door that separates the spaces and so of course you can hear everything the people were saying—let alone doing in the kitchen-slamming dishes, ice, leaving the fridge door open so the chyme goes off for minutes at a time, blaring the TV, etc. I would not have booked this place had I known there was no privacy or that I had to constantly whisper. I book rooms constantly and always avoid “shared” spaces. I had to buy a fan for the room because there was no air flow—especially since the bedroom door and the “divided barn door” were next to each other—so we had to keep the bedroom door shut the whole time for our privacy. The people in the back unit were loud playing music constantly and smoking all the time—which are rules posted not allowed. The only plus side was the location—centrally located to everything! I did message the owner the first night about a few complaints and never got a response—just ignored. I work in property management, and I was not impressed. Again, the location was great—but that’s it, I wouldn’t rent here again.
