More than one hundred lakes, embedded in extensive coniferous and deciduous forests, characterise the approximately 600 km² Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park. The Groß Schauen chain of lakes is a particularly attractive excursion destination for nature lovers and is home to rare water birds such as bitterns, ospreys and white-tailed eagles as well as many wild geese.



One of the water sports tourism highlights in the nature park is Lake Wolzig. Numerous excursion destinations are available from this holiday address. For example, a visit to Tropical Islands (57 km), the largest tropical holiday world in Europe with a rainforest, sauna area and various shows, is well worthwhile. If you are travelling with children in summer, you can also spend an eventful day at Irrlandia in Storkow (9 km). Here it's all about searching, getting lost and finding, playing, romping and climbing, sliding, swinging, jumping and much more. From the 36 metre-high Waltersberge inland dune, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the vast forests, meadows and Lake Storkow. As Heidesee is only around 30 km south-east of Berlin, a day trip to Germany's culturally rich capital should also be included in your holiday programme.
