“The Farmhouse” is a 1900’s home with an old- fashioned front porch and swing. Pull in take a deep breath—and enjoy the charm of this beautiful farmhouse—Your Country Home away from home! Whether you need overnight accommodations, a weekend stay or an extended stay, we can provide you with the accommodations that will make you feel at “Home” away from home. The Farmhouse is cozy enough for one or two and large enough for groups of six to eight as long as guest don't mind sharing a bathroom. Some of you may remember doing so if you lived in a farmhouse back in the day! We have friendly horses on the property, friendly barn cats and are pet friendly.

Need a place for family and friends to gather for a holiday feast or get-together? Coming to see the Irish play at Notre Dame? Visiting local tourists attractions in Buchanan, Niles, New Buffalo, Michigan? The Farmhouse Stay is located in South Bend Indiana just a half a mile from the state line of Michigan. It is the perfect place to call home while you're checking out all of the wonderful local attractions! We are close to many of the wineries in St Joseph Michigan and also the Four Winns Casino and many beautiful Michigan beaches including Weko Beach. Downtown Niles Michigan is a great place for antiquing as is Buchanan Michigan--both have quaint shops and will provide a fun-filled afternoon. Another local attraction that is a lot of fun for families is Fernwood Botanical Garden. The Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend along with a visit to the Notre Dame campus are also popular attractions. When you're all done having fun in the local relax on the deck or front porch.

The Farmhouse is the perfect place to relax or be active... and a great place to call home when visiting the area to cheer on the Fighting Irish! We are located right next door to the Carriage House Fine Dining restaurant on a beautiful country acreage giving you a little slice of country in close proximity to everything!

We had the most wonderful stay at the farmhouse! Beautifully decorated, cozy, and sparkling clean. Everything you could possibly need is provided for you, and the location was perfect for us. Wendy was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating.

Great place

The owner introduced my 4 year old to her animals and let him pet them. She was super flexible about everything. We really enjoyed our stay!

I love antiques and old fashioned stuff and I have always dreamed of living in a farmhouse. I absolutely love the house and the decor is Great! Our stay there was absolutely awesome!! It was truly a get away to remember!

Peaceful getaway

We stayed during our son’s graduation weekend, and it was perfect for our needs. We loved retreating to the peacefulness of The Farmhouse at the end of our busy days on campus. Wendy was a perfect hostess, and the house was well stocked with everything we needed during our stay.

Fall Cozy Charm

We loved this property. The owner had added fall decorations that were just the right touch. Everything was comfortable and saying good morning to the horse and ponies each day was perfect!

Perfect weekend

We had a wonderful stay at the farmhouse. It is located in the perfect spot, close to everything we needed but when you arrived back home it was serene and quiet. Plenty of room in the house for all of us with a very cozy feeling. The hosts were incredibly helpful and informative about the area. Wonderful people! We wish we could have stayed longer.

Relaxing accomplished

The property was very relaxing. Lots of reading under the huge trees and the green grass.And, the horses were great companions. Wendy Was a great host! We would definitely return.

Great weekend getaway!

The farmhouse was an excellent last minute booking decision for me and a couple of my friends. It was absolutely gorgeous in the snow. Wendy was very communicative and even stopped by (socially distanced) to make sure everything was going alright. I'd highly recommend this listing!

Wedding weekend

This is a very nice quaint beautiful farmhouse with lots of personal touches. If you're a animal lover, this place is for you! Beautiful little ponies and a horse and cute chickens. Wendy is an excellent host! Highly recommend it!!

A step back in time.

We loved it. Quiet, relaxing and a lot of memories of our childhoods at Grandma’s farmhouse. Very convenient to Jr Irish Fields for lacrosse or soccer!

Lovely Farmhouse Atmosphere

We took a step back in time when we walked into The Farmhouse. Our dogs loved being part of a little farm with the miniature horses and cats. We told our family in Michigan and Indiana that they need to stay at the Farmhouse. It's relaxing and the deck is amazing. It's secluded, yet close enough to South Bend to enjoy the town.

Peaceful escape from the city

Wendy's Farmhouse was the perfect place for me and my husband to escape the city for a week. After a challenging year, it was wonderful to completely unplug, enjoy the trees and green grass with our dogs, and meet some very sweet ponies and horses. It was exactly as advertised and felt like a warm hug from family members I did not know I had. We look forward to visiting again.

Quaint property in a peaceful location.

The farmhouse is a wonderful place to stay. It is equipped with everthing you need. Even bowls for the dog :) Wendy contacted me in less than a hour after booking, and continued to make sure our stay was carefree, and comfortable. It was a pleasure to meet her, her horses and the barn cats. I would highly recommend a stay here. I will book this property again when in town visiting family. Thank you Wendy!

So Beautiful and Relaxing

Such a beautiful place. The property and house was very relaxing and well maintained. Great communication with Wendy. We enjoyed being close to Weko park and walking our dog on the beach. We visited a couple wineries. And on our 35th wedding anniversary, we just enjoyed the deck and home. I loved the barn cats and the horses were pretty neat too. We hope to visit again.

even better than expected

My family visited for a weekend and Wendy could not have been better or more accommodating. The Farmhouse is even better than advertsied! We loved the animals, especially the horses, and interacting with them was so much fun. Notre Dame's campus is very close if that is part of your plans. Cannot say enough about Wendy and how great she was before, during and after our stay. Cannot wait to go back again!
