The resort is situated on one the most famous and beautiful beaches of Maui, Ka'anapali Beach. We happen to come during the Kona rain storm. After reviewing so many choices on the island I landed on this condo… And I’m so grateful I did! The Mountain Dew‘s are beautiful and the easy access to beaches and restaurants made our stay so much more fun! So grateful that the host was very quick to communicate… The only thing that may have made it better is if there were activities to do in the room, but I think that only matters when there’s a giant rain storm because you’ll probably spend most of your time outside! Great location

We had a fantastic time! The resort location was great and the resort itself felt very upscale. We loved that the room was near the elevator. Valet was free, with the addition of a tip. Super nice for families since we didn’t have to lug everyone far to our car. The king bed was comfortable and the blackout shades were great for the kids’ naps. The patio chairs are probably due for an update - they were unraveling at the top and made for sharp edges for our little ones. Thank you for our great family stay!

The location of this property is amazing. Right on the beach, walking distance to the grocery store and the pool is so fun for the kids. My only issue was with this particular unit. The couch was pretty stained and dirty, the carpet really needs to either be cleaned or replaced with a hard flooring and the patio furniture was falling apart. I mentioned these comments to the host and they apologized and said that these things are being taken care of for future guests. The host was VERY responsive during our stay which was so helpful.

My family and I had an excellent stay here, we enjoyed the convenience of the kitchen having two small children. The property was great as was the location.

Amazing communication and reliability!

Our family loved our stay at Honua Kai tower on the Hawaiian Island Resort property. A very short walk to the beach and of course all the resort amenities are RIGHT there! Our room had chairs and umbrella to use for us to use and when I messaged the owner that the umbrella was broken she replaced it the next day! Wow! She answered all my questions before the trip and that really eased my mind. We had a great trip. I highly recommend.

Overall - the resort itself is excellent! Great location and amenities, especially for families. Duke's restaurant on the beach has great food and daily live music. Just a short drive from Whaler's village and other points of interest. Garage parking was also a bonus (there were high winds and rain a couple of days). Bell service took everything upstairs for us with very little delay, we had stopped for groceries after leaving the airport. Our particular unit was not very well maintained. The patio/balcony door was sticking, when the balcony door isn't closed the AC doesn't work so, because of the sticking door, when we got there, unit was very warm. Once we read the instructions in the welcome guide we were able to call maintenance and they came quickly. It would just take a small amount of and effort to get this unit back into decent shape. There were several spots on the walls that needed to be painted/touched up (they had removed curtain rods above doors and just left that way). Carpet was dirty and I would not walk on without socks/slippers. Unit stated that came with two beach chairs (there was just 1, which was inconvenient as there is no seating at the beach itself). Washer and dryer are VERY small capacity and there are only 4 towels/washcloths/hand towels provided (we were there 9 nights). Only 1 set of dish towels. Owner was not accommodating with date change prior or late check out on our last day.

This property was great for our family! It came stocked with beach toys, snorkel gear, beach chairs. The location was great to a grocery store and had12 food trucks nearby for all sorts of options.

Great family hotel

This was our first time to this area of Maui. Honoa Kai is a great family hotel - perfect if traveling with kids. Full size fridge and kitchen is very convenient. Check in and communication was seamless. I did think the water slide was smaller then the pictures make it seem as did my kids, but they still had fun. Communal bbqs were great to use as well and beachfront location is great.

K430 Konea Tower at Honua Kai

Love the Honua Kai facility. Stayed there several other times; always in the main towers (Hokulani). Unit K-430 was as shown in the listing however we missed having a view of the ocean, and the bathroom was VERY small as was the bedroom closet! We felt like the units in the Konea Building were more “budget” minded and a generally smaller.That said, however, it was clean and as adveryised

Lovely resort and friendly staff!

The resort is in a great location with easy beach access and nice pool area. Being close to Duke’s Restaurant is also a bonus. It would be nice to have cushions on the pool lounge chairs especially since it’s billed as a luxury resort. The valet service was awesome. The staff were as friendly and helpful as could be! The room could use a hug. There were lots of dings in the walls, the carpet is worn and there’s a tear in the couch. The dining cushions were taken to be re-covered. They weren’t replaced or returned during our stay. The kitchen is well appointed which we appreciated. All in all we had a terrific stay, and will probably come back!

Check in was difficult. We had to go to concierge 3 times to get our wristbands and parking pass. Difficult to communicate with anyone re our rental.

Favorite Resort in Maui

We had a great stay in the condo at Honua Kai. We have visited this resort several times and rented many different condos at this specific resort. The condo had all of the basics we needed and we were comfortable. The carpet was very dirty but everything else seemed clean and comfortable. We went out and purchased a coffee maker because the unit only had an Keurig that uses K cups. Our family doesn’t use single use plastic that gets heated. We also like to enjoy local coffee while on the islands. Other than the slight inconvenience everything else was wonderful! The property management company provided excellent customer service and communication.
