Welcome to Winter Wonderland! As winter settles in, the ski resorts are buzzing with activity. Come and enjoy everything the White Mountains have to offer with a cozy and comfortable stay at "The Cottage on the Brook".
Perched atop Mill Brook, this beautiful 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home offers picturesque views and tranquil surroundings. It is also centrally located to all the area’s attractions.

Loon Mountain, Cannon Mountain, and Waterville Valley Resort are all within a 25-30 minute drive and offer world-class winter sports. Ice Castles, snowmobile rentals, winter zip lining, and off-road tours are all within a 15-20 minute drive. Enjoy a romantic sleigh ride at one of the nearby farms or simply take in the mesmerizing beauty of your backyard – the brook freezes over in the winter and is magical.

If ice fishing is your thing, Squam Lake is 30 minutes away and Lake Winnipesaukee is 45 minutes away. You can enjoy the best of both worlds: the White Mountains and the famous Lakes Region.

Back at the house, cozy up by the fireplace, play board games, build puzzles, enjoy a round of table tennis, or simply relax in the soaking tub.

You and your family or friends can enjoy spacious living across two floors. The first floor features a welcoming foyer that leads into the great room, kitchen, and dining room, all offering picturesque views of the brook. An ample mudroom provides convenient access to the garage. This floor also includes a half bath with laundry facilities. The primary suite, complete with generous closet space, a full bathroom with a soaking tub and shower, and sliding doors to the deck with lovely brook views, completes the first floor.

The second-floor houses two bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower, and a loft with a TV, perfect for hanging out.

This Brookside residence is a quiet and beautiful place to relax. The running brook in the backyard is amazing. It's clean and refreshing and the sound is so calming. The house itself is well equipped (towels, bedding , appliances)and has a great layout. I highly recommend this VRBO. The photos in the listing are accurate.

Snowy Getaway

Our family loved staying at this location for a Winter Vacation Break! The house is off the beaten path just enough to feel remote and the wood & brook backyard view is breathtaking. We built a fire a couple nights and just enjoyed all the wonderful coziness the house had to offer. The amenities and layout of the house made us feel like we were at our own home. The host was responsive and a pleasure to interact with. We will definitely try to stay here again!

Beautiful

Wonderful property, great location! Nicely decorated, comfortable, what a great house! The fire pit and screened porch were terrific bonuses. We didn't lack for anything in terms of kitchen, bath, and beds. In fact, there was a nice welcome basket with snacks and water awaiting us upon arrival.

Wonderful family weekend

The weather cooperated to make this a pleasant weekend in a quiet and serene section of New Hampshire. The Cottage was very clean and child friendly. Host's instructions were clear and prompt. There are several amusement-type areas up the road in the Lincoln area for our kids, but we didn't not use them as the Cottage presents its own form of family time. If you are looking for a quiet retreat slightly off the beaten path, this is recommended. Oh yes -- the brook. Wow.

AWEWSOME !!

This was a dream Vacation for us. We loved the Brooke and rocks to hang out on. The out door flower gardens are so pretty. We made a lot of memories. The living area is very comfortable. The master bath is huge. The kitchen has a smaller refrigerator for drinks if needed. I will and would book again.

Ride, Rest and Unwind.

For the past 30 years, we have traveling to New Hampshire for Laconia Bike week. This is the first time we decided to rent a VRBO. The property was amazing and set in a great location to travel to any destination. Coffee in the morning out back, listening to the brook set the mood for the day. The home has everything you will need to enjoy your time here. Our Thanks to the hosts.

Great cabin

My family and I recently purchased some property in the area and booked to get a better feel for the area. The home is a great spot. We absolutely enjoyed the cabin and the area. Would recommend!!

Brook House

The house is in a great and quiet location. It was very clean, spacious and the host is super accommodating. It is a short 20 minute drive to both Loon and Waterville Valley so we enjoyed both while staying there. Everything you need for a great mountain trip is here. The brook out back is just like in the photos and is a beautiful site for your morning coffee. I would highly recommend to other travelers.

This place is awesome!

We booked this house close to Loon Mt so we can ski and snowboard and not stay in a hotel for more relaxation. The ride was very easy to and from the mountain. The house is very clean, very comfortable, greatly equipped with all you may need and had plenty of space for my husband and 2 boys, 12 & 14. We all enjoyed the ping pong/air hockey table! The view off the back was spectacular for us Florida peeps who really only look at flat land. We will definitely book again. Thank you so much to the hosts for their great communication and care.

Beautiful home, amazing river view, excellent stay!

The Cottage on the Brook is beautifully decorated, and has everything you need. Setting is perfect and the river views are amazing. It was nice to be as secluded as we were, yet close enough to skiing and other activities. Shalaka is great to work with and we look forward to visiting again.

Fall Get Away

The location and house is perfect for a quiet vacation. Enjoyed the secluded back yard situated on the brook with the waterfall. Fully stocked kitchen for cooking, with the view of the brook. Deer and turkey roamed the yard. Star gazing at night. The house is clean and rooms are quiet with plenty of heat and modern touches. Easy access to main road and attractions.

Perfect weekend

This property checks all the boxes. The house was spacious and clean. Everything labeled for ease of use. Everything is provided, we just brought food and clothing. The location is perfect for exploring the white mountains. And the river view behind the house is to die for. The owners were very responsive when needed and very organized so we didn't need to reach out for anything. It was a perfect stay at a perfect house... Beds were comfy, tv's great and very cozy/comfortable.. Can't say enough.

Quiet and close to town

The cottage had everything we needed, in a beautiful serene location, with a short drive to the Boogie & Blues Festival we were there to attend. Our hosts responded immediately to all questions and requests. I would stay there again, and I recommend it to others.

Wonderful place to stay!

Such a wonderful property. It was immaculately clean and plenty of space for our family of 5. The big kids loved playing and fishing in the brook behind the house. Would definitely stay here again! Felt like we were all alone since it’s located at the end of the street.

Great quaint property in NH

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage by the broom with great hosts. The house was even nicer in person with beautiful scenery. The house was very clean and the hosts were super responsive.

Beautiful home

The views from the dining/living area and master bedroom are gorgeous. This home was immaculate, spacious, and comfortable. The kids (12 and 14) loved the air hockey/ping pong table. There was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy privacy to read a book and relax or gather for a meal or to watch TV. Would definitely recommend this lovely home!

A delightful place to stay

Our family had a very comfortable stay here. Impressive kitchen and bathrooms and all around clean and inviting. Kids will enjoy the air hockey/ping pong and all will enjoy the brook in the back. It was so refreshing on warm days and listening to it at night made for very pleasant evenings. No complaints at all. The owners were friendly and clearly put a lot of thought and effort into making this property a trouble-free gem. Benton’s Sugar Shack down the street is a must-visit for breakfast and J.L. Sullivan’s pub a few minutes away was excellent for dinner. My family really enjoyed this place and we have brought home lots of great new memories from this absolutely beautiful part of New Hampshire.

Spectacular house and property!

The house was beautiful and had ample room for the 7 of us. The property though is what "puts it over the top"! After a day of running here and there, trying to cram as many activities in as possible, it was wonderful to return to the serenity and privacy of the back yard and simply relax taking in the beauty of the brook and it's numerous waterfalls. During our time there, despite the slightly hectic schedule we enjoyed, we still managed to get into the brook's swimming hole (actually there are two areas right behind the house that are large enough to be "swimming holes") on several occasions. The water was crystal clear and exhilarating to lounge in on the hot days we experienced while there. The property owner, Shalaka, was a joy to deal with. She reached out to us several times during our stay to ensure everything was going well. We'll definitely be "trying" (if the word gets out availability will be limited :) ) to vacation here again!

Private comfort

This home was spotless! The owner's description of her property is thorough and accurate along with nice indoor and outdoor photos. Shalaka is an accommodating host and replies prompty. It's about 20 minutes south of Loon Mountain making it a great home base for the week. The kitchen is well equiped, the family room had plenty of room for five adults and two teenagers. The master suite is great with towel heater. The bedroom with a queen and bunks for small children is nice. The private backyard has a great view of the river which was raging due to all the rain and snow melt. We highly recommend this house and would rent again.

Amazing Getaway

Our family was looking for a quiet and peaceful spot for a long weekend close to skiing and other activities and this property did not disappoint. The home was beautiful and had activities (books and games) for our children. They loved the air hockey/ping pong table. The entire house was clean as a whistle and had everything needed to make it feel like home. Akash and Shalaka are incredible and kept in touch to make sure everything was going well. Our stay happened during a relatively strong snow storm but instead of being inconvenienced the generator kept everything as normal and it was actually a magical experience. Convenient to multiple ski locations and we visited the ice castles. Would imagine its just as spectacular in the summer months as well.

My husband Akash and I work and live in MA with our two very active young kids. Our son snowboards and our daughter likes to ski. We enjoy the outdoors. We love our house in Thornton, NH that we lovingly call “The Cottage on the Brook” very much, but cannot be there as much as we like. Hence, we decided to share it with others. We do hope that folks enjoy it as much as we do.

Every year for the past several years we have vacationed in and around North Conway and Lincoln, NH. Our son took to snowboarding and our daughter is getting good at Skiing. Hence, we decided to get our own place in the beautiful White Mountains. The drive to North Conway was a little longer than we wanted, so we started checking out places around Lincoln and Woodstock.
Unbelievable but true, we were in the area to check out two other homes. This was not on our list. Our agent brought our attention to this property, urged us to go see it and was able to schedule a visit for us.
We wanted something special in our vacation home but could not quite put a finger on it, until we saw this beautiful house. Shall we say the rest is history? #Unbelievable, #Thankful!!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Brook in the backyard!! Not just the first time but every time we enter our house, our jaws drop when we see the view of our backyard from the wall of glass that pans the living room and kitchen area; rain, shine or snow. Every room offers picturesque views and the soothing sound of flowing water instantly relaxes. Feels surreal, as if in a beautiful canvas wall art. The brook does freeze over in the winter and it is magical.
Thornton, NH is a very quaint little town, away from the hustle bustle yet close to it all. Over the past year, in addition to furnishing and decorating the place, we have enjoyed snow sports as well as some very nice hikes in the region. Last but not the least the food and the folks around here are amazing.
