Ideal location to reach the unique area of the Cinque Terre by sea from La Spezia (7 km) or Lerici (3 km). Distances: 8.5 km to Tellaro, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, 3 km to the sandy beaches of San Terenzio, 20 km to Portovenere with the island of Palmaria. The old town of the harbour town of La Spezia with its lively alleyways is well worth a visit: De Nobili Palace, Castle of St. George. On the first Sunday in August, there is a traditional, exciting rowing competition (Palio del Golfo) between 13 hand-built boats. In the first week of October, the spectacular Festa della Marineria takes place with historic watercraft. Every year in August, the famous local event "Pitei cantina" is celebrated, where it is possible to taste traditional specialities in the town's various wine cellars. From Pitelli, a hiking trail (11 km) leads to the picturesque village of San Terenzo.
