Welcome to Willie's on Nelson, a 4 bedroom/3 bath lakeside cabin on picturesque Nelson Lake. Willie's is located directly on hundreds of miles of snowmobile & ATV trails, & only 10 mins. to downtown Hayward which puts you right in the action. Bring your own boat or rent from one of several boat rentals right on the lake.

Nelson Lake is 2,700 acres with over 33 miles of shoreline to explore. It is home to several bar/restaurants and plenty of wildlife. The cabin is fully equipped including games, movies and child equipment so all you have to do is just show up & relax.

***Please note: in late winter ‘25, we will be switching the master bedroom to a king bed and the basement bedroom to two queen beds.

WINTER RENTALS
Willie's is located directly snowmobile trail #19 which runs across the bay. We provide snowshoes and sleds for winter fun! There is also an indoor utility room that can be used to wax skis. Wood is provided to enjoy the cozy warmth and crackle of the woodburning fireplace in the upper level living room. Early check-ins and late check-outs can most often be accommodated Oct. - May.

***PLEASE NOTE****
-Limit of 8 guests unless pre-approved - THIS IS NOT THE PROPERTY TO SNEAK IN GUESTS AND WILL RESULT IN A FULL LOSS OF DAMAGE DEPOSIT
-Absolutely no fish boils
-Fish guts cannot be disposed of anywhere on the property, including sink or trash
-Limit of 2 boats on dock
-Any cigarette butts left in yard will result in a $250 fee
-Summer Rentals: We spray for mosquitos and pest control may arrive during your stay. The lawn has to be avoided for approximately an hour after it's sprayed

This home and property were amazing! My mother in law and I couldn’t find dirt in the house if we tried. Nothing was an afterthought. Everything was provided with the direct intent to make us feel at home, and we did!

What a magnificent and gorgeous retreat right in the lake. The swimming and boating were fabulous off of the wonderful dock. The house is extremely well equipped with everything anyone could ever want for a dream vacation. Thank you—we WILL be returning!!

Wonderful Property

Everything about our stay exceeded expectations. House is lovely and close to the water with stunning views of the lake. The lake and surrounding area was so quiet all you could hear was the wind and the birds…including loons. Owners were helpful and easy to reach. Highly recommend!

Making Memories

From the moment we came across Andrea's home on VRBO, we knew this was the right place for our family vacation. Andrea's property is a dream come true for families looking to visit the north woods. There was literally not one thing that we wished we had while we were there; from baby monitors, cribs, board games, video games, ping-pong and foosball, this place has everything. What makes it even better, is that Andrea is wonderful to work with. Everything about this property is top notch. We highly recommend Willie's on Nelson for a great family vacation. You will be pleased!

Awesome Place

Willies on Nelson Lake is the best. Clean, cozy, well stocked, comfortable beds, beautiful location, gorgeous sunrises. Close to town. We were there to side x side. Close to trails. Our host Andrea was the best. Will definitely stay again. Highly recommend. One of the guests had their truck breakdown. She provided local service information and let us stay an extra night.

What a beautiful and spacious cabin in an idyllic spot! It was perfectly set up for our two families, and we appreciated that it was well stocked with kid-friendly dishes and equipment. Looking forward to staying here again.

Cozy Winter Getaway on the Lake

This cabin was perfect for our Winter get away! The wood fireplace kept us cozy, the kitchen is well appointed and great to cook in, bedrooms are spacious as well. The deck and full windows overlooking the lake is beautiful and let in lots of winter sunshine. Perfect setting on the lake and close to the trails for XC Skiing and snowshoeing. Fun to watch the snowmobiles go out on the lake. Great for couples, or a group of friends, lots of space to hang out together. Very well taken care of and super clean. Thanks so much!

Amazing week

Creating family memories

This property has thought about everything one needs for the lake place. From kids toys to canoe and kayaks, there is plenty of fun to be had. It even had a safety gate on the deck that could be pulled across the opening to the stairs for our toddler to safely hang out on the deck with the adults. The lakefront, dock and fire pit area are awesome as we had many fires and s’mores. Creating family memories are precious and priceless and this was the place for that. Will definitely return!!

Willies on Nelson Lake

Best place we have ever stayed in our 15 years of Hayward vacations. The home was spotless and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need. The view from the house is breathtaking. Perfect layout for our family to be together. The exterior was well maintained. Easy access to the lake. Beautiful yard. The new dock with a swim ladder is a big plus. The outdoor furniture was clean and comfortable. The lake was quiet, just a few fishing boats. We saw deer, loons, and even a pair of otters. Great location for swimming, kayaking or just floating off the dock. Simply THE best. We had a great time.

Enjoyable stay

Enjoyed our stay on Nelson Lake. House was very clean, had all the necessary amenities for our weeks stay. Our granddaughter loved the sand box next to the lake the adults enjoyed the ping pong table, kayaks, bean bag game, and fire pit right on the water.

Wonderful Willies's on Nelson

Our family had a wonderful stay at Willies! The lake home is beautiful; it had everything we needed and more! House is clean and supplies are extremely well stocked - absolutely nothing was lacking. The kid's toys, life jackets and lake toys were great to have for the children in our family. The property is well thought out for maximum comfort and enjoyment. This visit was our second time staying at Willies and it will not be our last! Family Vacation

It was impossible to be bored at this house. We had family members ranging from age 1 - 50. We were looking for a house where we could swim right off the dock. This house was perfect for that! Along with being able to swim, we used the hammock, lily pad, kayaks, paddle boat, and canoe. We were able to catch many fish right off the dock! Inside there was a ping pong table, cards, and a room full of board games, kids’ toys, and yard games. The host was easy to work with and we were even left a gift basket. The house was clean inside and out. We couldn’t have imagined a better location for our family vacation this year!

We loved everything about this property! From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The house was stocked with everything we could want. We spent a lot of time on the deck and the kids loved the ping pong table! We had a wonderful time and plan to go back!

Annual Ladies Snowmobile Trip

This is the second year in a row staying at this property and it did not disappoint! Our host Andrea continues to impress us with responsiveness, attention to detail and ensuring we have a great stay. The property has everything you need to stay in, but it’s also located on the snowmobile trail so great for us to ride directly out of the property. We had 8 ladies and had plenty of space. Thanks for another great stay!

We describe ourselves as people who love "the scene" but who also like to get in and out of "the scene" very quickly. This property is perfect for that. We are located in a quiet bay across from a mostly uninhabited Big Island which provides the serene sense of peace you're looking for in the Northwoods. When more activity is desired, a 10 minute drive to town for dinner, shopping and fun is a perfect way to spend the day.
