Welcome to Edgewater. Lake life on the edge of South Bend and its many attractions.

This spacious and fully furnished lake house has everything you'll need to enjoy the comforts of home and the benefits of getting away. You can be to Notre Dame is less than15 minutes and only 5 minutes from the South Bend Airport. A 1hr. 30min. drive from Down Town Chicago. Come and enjoy all that Edgewater has to offer.
The upper level contains all 4 bedrooms and a nursery area if needed. Relax in the huge Master Suite with King Size bed, Smart TV, sitting chair and home office furniture to accommodate extended stays, Work and Play vacations and Locum assignments. Enjoy the Master Suite's private walk-out deck that overlooks the lake. Take in views of the sunrise with your morning coffee, a shaded afternoon siesta or an evening glass of wine. The views of the property and lake from this spot are gorgeous.
The living room is inviting with ample seating, a gas fireplace and a large TV. The kitchen has all the amenities and top of the line appliances with open views to the lake and a dining table that fits 8. In addition, there's a family/game room with table, seating and another TV, games and good books too. There's also a fully stocked laundry room on this level. We provide everything you'll need!
Outside and overlooking the lake, you'll find seating and a propane Grill on the historic repurposed brick patio. Surrounding the patio and lining the property edges is the most gorgeous landscaping. Flowers in bloom throughout the seasons provide a wonderful sense of appreciation for the beauty of nature. Enjoy the view as you walk down to the water’s edge and the sandy beach where you can swim, kayak, fish or just sit on the dock and soak in the sun. The tree lined shore across the lake is undeveloped and provides additional viewing beauty throughout the changing seasons. This lake is safe and has a 10mph speed limit. No speeding boats or Jet Skis to worry about as you play in and enjoy the crystal clear water!
Need more than just the perfect house and lake outside your door? Enjoy all that the South Bend area has to offer! Notre Dame and downtown South Bend are less than 10 miles away. The South Bend attractions are endless and include Art and History Museums, Fine Dining, Family Parks, Potawatomi Zoo, South Bend Cubs Baseball, Golf (Frisbee too), Performing Arts, Theater Centers, Open Markets, Shopping, St. Joseph River Rafting, Ice Skating at Howard Park, Sledding, Ice Fishing outside your door and many more. Potato Creek State Park is only 20 miles away, Indiana Dunes State Park is 40 miles and Shipshewana is only 1 hour away. Four Winds Casino is 10 minutes away too. There are loads of Wineries, Breweries, Golf Courses, Nature Preserves and Hiking Trails nearby as well.

Our hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. The check-in was extremely easy. The lake house was very clean and comfortable. My family had a very nice stay. After our trip, we discovered that my mother forgot her iPad in the Lake house. The hosts were so kind and helpful, we got the iPad back without any issues.

We had a wonderful stay at this property and can't recommend it enough. The property was very clean, great layout (perfect for hanging out with our family of 6), beautiful view of the lake and many thoughtful amenities. The bedrooms were located upstairs so it was quiet even when people were in the kitchen or living room. The bedrooms were inviting and had very comfortable mattresses and pillows. The primary bedroom was huge and had a great deck where you could sit and enjoy the view of the lake. There were plenty of towels, including towels for the lake (which we did not use but was a nice touch). If you stay in the summer, there are lots of things to enjoy the lake, such as paddle boards, kayaks and floaties. There was a nice place to have an outside fire. Loved the game room they had with a game table, couch and another tv. We used this property for out weekend cheering on the Irish and the drive to campus was very easy. We hope to stay here again!

Home away from home, clean & very comfortable. It was nice floating in the lake on hot summer days, cooking out and playing games with the family. The perfect vacation spot… half way point for meeting up with our son. We absolutely loved it and plan to go again.

Family weekend

We had such a wonderful family weekend at this lake house! The home was spotless—very clean and well cared for. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, which made cooking easy and enjoyable. The lake itself was stunning—super clear and perfect for swimming and relaxing. We had so much fun with the kayaks and paddle boards.The setting was peaceful, perfect for morning coffee with a view or evening games with the kids. The owners were incredibly kind and responsive, which made the experience even better. This place had everything we needed for a fun, easy, and relaxing family getaway. Highly recommend—we’re already talking about coming back!

Amazing Home that has it ALL!

We were in town for a soccer tournament and the fields were minutes away. This was the way to go instead of a hotel. The house has everything you need so the stress of packing all the extras is gone. She has coffee, firewood and s’mores sticks, kayaks, paddle boards, beach towels, bug spray, shampoo and conditioner—-all of it. Just pack your suit. Safe and relaxing as the kids are outside playing on the kayaks and paddle boards as the lake is 10 mph and not on their phones. Hostess was amazing and very accessible. I would come back for sure as (Mom) had a relaxing time enjoying the lake and seeing my kids (teens) in the great outdoors!

This has to be one of the most relaxing family getaways we have been on. The house had all of the amenities needed and was very comfortable, true Lakehouse feel. The lake was very warm and shallow getting in, perfect for the kids to play. Ronda, our host, was super sweet, thoughtful, and quick to respond. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend!

Fabulous Lake House for 6

This lake house was the perfect spot for my family to celebrate July 4. The house is right on the water, which is shallow enough to wade/swim in. The house came with everything we could have asked for- paddle boards, kayaks, floaties, chairs, and more. The house was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. 10/10 would visit again!

Great Summer Stay

Couldn’t have asked for a better stay at this home. House, lake, and beach were all as advertised. Owners were awesome hosts throughout the stay. A communication and assistance with all things. Great little pizza place just down the street. Highly recommend this home. Great VRBO!

Amazing!!

Book now!! You will not be disappointed!! This home has everything you and your family need for a nice stay. The owners were very sweet and welcomed us with a handwritten note. We attended ND graduation and the house was close enough to campus but far enough to avoid the hustle and bustle of the crowds. My husband fished and our graduate enjoyed the paddle boards - I loved soaking up our last few days in South Bend here. Book now for ND football fun!!

Great location and even better house

My family stayed here for our trip to the Notre Dame Stanford game. It was a great location. It is about 20 minutes away from the blue lot, even with game day traffic. As for the house itself, it is wonderful. It has every amenity you could need. The property is great as well. It sits right on the lake and has several activities, kayaks, paddle boards, etc for use. However, it was to chilly too use them this trip, but it just made us want to come back for a early season game and stay here again. Lastly, communication with the owners is flawless. They are super nice but also not overbearing. I've had owners text or message the whole trip. Not these guys and I like that. They're responsive with any questions and check-in a breeze. This was one of my favorite VRBO experience. Highly recommend.

Family Getaway

This is our second time staying at Edgewater and our stay was amazing yet again! We were there with ages 2 through 74 - perfect lake house for kids of all ages. The sandy, walkout beach (no seaweed in the swimming area!!) was where we spent the majority of our time and is a rare feature with lake houses. The lake was also great for paddle boarding and kayaking. The home was clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend!

A great place

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in this wonderful house! Very clean, very well organized, great amenities - but most of all, great hosts! You can see the effort and soul they put into making guests comfortable. A million of nice small touches - spices, coffee and sugar to use, dishwasher detergent, spare charges and cables for different types of phones, meticulous labels on drawers, a heart-warming handwritten welcome note... Great place, great hosts, great location (and great friendly neighbors, too). 10/10, no notes, would come back again.

Wonderful Stay- Wonderful House

Had a wonderful experience from before arriving until departure. The house was perfectly clean, one of the cleanest rentals we’ve had. Amenities and small touches were wonderful. From the extra chargers and charging blocks to the kayaks and life jackets, we had everything we needed. Had a couple questions throughout our stay and they were so helpful every time. Everyone had a blast in the lake, fishing, swimming, kayaking and hanging out. Neighbors were wonderful as well. Even lent us a hose for a slip and slide for the kids. No complaints. Would absolutely recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the memorable weekend!

ND Football Weekend Guys Trip

Our stay at Edgewater was great! Very clean property and beautiful views and scenery with the lake. Wish the TV Cable arrangements had more of the stations that cover live sports but we improvised. Could have used a few more frying pans in kitchen but was able to buy two at local Dollar General store. Grill worked well. Overall a great and comfortable stay at a beautiful property that is great for a football weekend.

We are thrilled with the opportunity to open our Lake House to other families who can use and enjoy Edgewater as much as we do.
When traveling, we almost always stay at VRBOs and have had the most wonderful experiences using them. It was our dream to one day own a lake home and provide an opportunity and experience for other families and guests to cherish and create memories there too.
We found this perfect home, fell in love with everything about it and kept its name, Edgewater! We're confident you'll love it too.

We've prepared Edgewater with everything you'll need and a lot of extras too.
From a fully stocked kitchen (even a crockpot) to full laundry and bathroom supplies. An assortment of life jackets, beach toys, floating tubes and even fishing poles. There are Binoculars to bird watch and a telescope for nighttime star gazing. There's a Propane Grill, fire Pit and plenty of outdoor seating too. There's even a giant wooden carving on the property - his name is Captain Ahab!

Edgewater is very conveniently located in South Bend, Indiana. It's close to so many attractions and yet removed from the busyness of the city. Provisional shopping options are close by (less than 10 minutes away) and Notre Dame and Down Town S.B. are about a 15-20 minute drive.
