My cleaning fee simply reflects that level of care and pride, guest consistently mention how exceptionally clean and well cared-for it is.

Margie and Sydney were welcoming and accommodating.I tried to get the property when in Charleston a year ago and now I know why. I was able to book it twice within the last month and enjoyed my stay. I even extended one stay.The property is private and in a great location. It is close to any things you would need. Shopping, food stores, restaurants, etc.You will not be disappointed staying here. The area is quiet and felt like home. It is "Hilda clean" a reference to my Mother who kept a clean home.I have now purchased a home here, but for anyone inquiring, don't hesitate. Book it and you will have no worries and have a great stay.

Quiet peaceful stay in a neighborhood that was close to the airport, grocery stores, restaurants and downtown Charleston. Hospitality was exceptional with homemade cookies and wine waiting for us. This cottage was truly perfect. Any need we could have, was thought of. There was even a plate of freshly baked cookies when we arrived. Wonderful getaway spot.

This is a wonderful little spot to stay if you want to be close to Charleston but also not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle that the city offers. This beautiful backyard cottage was perfect. The owners, Margie and Sidney thought of everything, from the homemade chocolate chip cookies, to beverages and snacks. The cottage was sparkling clean and was a short drive to downtown Charleston. We had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our trip!

Weā€™re both proud to call the Lowcountry home and have been married for 43 wonderful years. In October 2019, we retired our welding and fabrication shop of over 30 years after Sidney experienced a massive stroke and was diagnosed with Parkinsonā€™s Disease. Today, weā€™re grateful to say heā€™s doing well and staying active.

After downsizing from the country to the city, we knew the moment we first saw this property that it was meant to be home. When we arrived, the cottage was just a shell and the grounds were wildly overgrownā€”but after six years of hard work, love, and vision, our dream is finally coming together.

We both enjoy meeting new people and spending time outdoors. Sidney has a deep love for the Lowcountry swamplands and says any day at the hunting club is a good one. Margie finds peace at the beach or working in the yard. We also enjoy biking and are lucky enough to start our rides right from our backyard.

We truly love this place and feel so fortunate to be able to share it with others. Hosting is a joy for us, and we warmly welcome you to The Backyard Cottage. We hope you choose to stay with usā€”we believe youā€™ll be glad you did.
