This cozy cabin with beautiful fall lake views has everything you need to forget your problems for as long as you can stay. Fish right off the lower deck, or dock, then grill your catch and enjoy dinner at the picnic table on the upper deck. Kayak, or float on a tube across the calm water. In warm weather you can swim, fish, and go 4-wheeling.


The layout of the cabin lends itself to gathering of family or friends (Girls' Weekend?!), but with the secluded setting you may be tempted to leave everyone else at home and let the night-time tree lights create romantic magic. Tour the wineries, visit a waterfall, or spend a day on the beach at Whetmore Park. Your vacation pictures will be amazing!

The loft bedroom sleeps up to 5, with one twin and two double beds. The living room is stocked with toys for the kids, a tv, and comfortable seating. TV trays are available for casual indoor meals. A fully-equipped kitchen gives you the option of cooking instead of going out to an area restaurant.
WINTER WEATHER: Amazing views with deer and red cardinals visiting, snow white trees, and adventures everywhere! From snowmobiling, ice fishing, sledding down the hill on to the lake. Down hill tubing and ski-ing just 10 minutes away. Snowmobile trail crosses the lake. Don't let 'no running water' scare you from a relaxing time with beautiful scenery.

Lovely Little Lake House

We had a great time in the cozy house. Really enjoyed the deck by the lake along with kayaking and a swim in the lake. Quiet and relaxing.

One of the best places to stay!

We loved our stay here it was amazingly like being at home. The property was clean and it included everything that was described and more. The host Jenny went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing . We will definitely go back there .

Wonderful, tranquil lakeside stay

Jen's property was PERFECT for a week long lakeside trip for us. It was secluded (but close to town), clean, and comfortable. Easy access to water, paddle boating, bonfire -- but also has wifi and roku TV for times when you want to tune into the world. Our week there was amazing. Thanks again Jen!

Beautiful lake and sunsets

Jenny was a wonderful host and very responsive. The lake was serene and beautiful. The hill to the lower deck is steeper than we’d imagined, so bring good sneakers. Fishing was fun…the fish literally jump on your hook.

Lake House Stay

Great little camp! The place is tastefully decorated and is a great place to hang at the lake, swim, kayak, fish and all of the other lake stuff. It's a short drive to Watertown where we visited the Thomson park Zoo, had some pizza and just enjoyed the beautiful weather. It is also a short drive to Alexandria bay on the thousand island for a tour and other things. Some great hiking along the black river is also just a short drive . Jen our host was great and an excellent communicator. We would plan to return again in the future

Our weekend at the Rustic Retreat was perfect. We stayed for an out of town softball tournament. Check in was extremely easy. Jen was immediately available as we had a tiny hiccup at check in time. She was friendly and checked in to make sure the rest of the weekend went smoothly. The house was cute and clean. Very cozy. Love the camp vibes. My kids LOVED fishing off the dock. The many decks were perfect for relaxing with a drink and dinner after a long day of softball. The property was well shaded which was perfect on a hot summer day. We will definitely be staying at the Rustic Retreat again. Possibly next time in the winter for snowmobiling!

Awesome ice fishing

The ice fishing was amazing! Nothing like walking out and setting up to get your dinner! Beautiful scenery. So very peaceful, my wife loved being able to watch me fish from the windows of a warm cabin. Having no running water was not an issue with everything Jen has to still be able to cook and use the bathroom. It was fun to rough it a little bit if that is what it’s called. lol.

Perfect place for relaxing

A beautiful place. Everywhere you look there is something thoughtfully placed to make your stay better. I built a fire in the provided fire pit with the provided firewood almost every night and just sat and looked at the lake. The outdoor lighting really provides a very nice vibe to chill out and relax. The host is INCREDIBLY responsive and helpful. Grilled out on the provided grill with provided charcoal. They really have thougjt of everything. If I am every in the area again I will 100% stay here again. Highly recommended.

Nice weekend at the lake

Cozy cute cottage. There were 2 of us and it was perfect. Lakefront is cool, wish i went in the summer. Im sure it would be awesome. Jen our host was fantastic. Always there for anything we needed. Questions on local attractions, food, whatever, we was quick too answer. Be back next summer for sure. Cheers!!!

Wonderful, relaxing, personal

My fiance and I stayed at the cabin with a few of my brothers for three nights leading up to our wedding weekend as a way to chill out before the big day. Jen made every effort to make sure everything was communicated clearly and answered all of our questions and requests almost immediately after we asked. She was wonderfully responsive, and helped out with everything. When we got to the cabin, everything was perfect. Super clean, super cute, and a very relaxing space. She also left us a personal card of congratulations, a gift, and a complimentary bottle of wine. My fiance freaked out, she was so blown away by the personal touches! Jen was a fantastic host and made sure that we were well taken care of. The amenities were awesome, the beds were super comfortable, and the scenery was simply awesome. Thank you again for the awesome stay!!

Lovely. Just lovely

Peaceful cabin is exactly as described. What the description didn't include was all the extras included by the hostess, Jen. We were greeted not only with the basics you'd expect in a rental kitchen, but many happy surprises (including Hershey bars for S'mores)! Jen's communication was spot-on. She's an exceptional hostess. The paddle boat was my favorite...such a simple pleasure. Bird watching was rewarding in the forest and on the lake. We saw (unfortunately no loons) but gulls, jays, crows, and woodpeckers. We loved gazing at the lake, seeing the fish through the clear waters, spying turtles, even saw a beaver! Stargazing was second to none, thanks to low light pollution and a phenomenal view from the extended dock, a private, open-sky platform. Bring a telescope and binoculars. You'll be glad you did. Since other reviews noted that take- out, etc, was not readily available, we brought our own food. As a result, we rarely left the quiet beauty of the surrounding nature. We spent 5 days at the Camp, and the time seemed to pass softly and slowly, like the cool wind through the trees. We will certainly spend time here again.

Wonderful Autumn getaway

The property is set up for spending a lot of time lakeside. We fished, floated in the paddle boat and relaxed on the two decks into the night. The owner was super easy to work with and the house is stocked for anything you need. Looking forward to staying in the summer months!

Perfect Lakeside Retreat

My two early teens and I truly enjoyed staying in this lakeside retreat! It was just what I was looking for and more. I was pleasantly surprised how at home we felt! It had everything we needed for our 5 day stay at this beautiful lake! The views from the deck were amazing day and night. We had a lot of fun on the lake but were also able relax because it is so peaceful! Jen, the host, is amazing. She added a personal touch that made it special for us! We are hoping to again next year!

Amazing !

Wow this place was AMAZING. You can tell Jen put her whole heart into this place from decorating to details for guests. She even got me a birthday gift and a card!! and my son a little gift that he loved. I’ve Never stayed somewhere with such thought and care put into it before. Never mind the fact it’s a stunning property with a lake right out your window they have all types of bbqs and everything you need to cook, clean, TVs everywhere, WiFi, snacks, seasoning, paddle boat, life jackets and fishing poles. Seriously everything. Just bring some food to cook as there’s no delivery (Instacart will delivery grocery just tell them to meet you outside so they don’t disturb the neighbors) the neighbor on the right is insanely nice and has a friendly family with some kids they made sure to say hello and whatnot :) either area is so lovely and Watertown is awesome for shopping, they have a cute zoo with really cool animals, there’s also boat tours near by:) anyways we will surely be coming back on our next vacation! Thanks so much for everything Jen! Such a wonderful experience

We are a local couple living about an hour south of the property. We purchased the lake property to snowmobile out of during the winter months. We then realized how absolutely beautiful it was during the summer and fall months also. So we decided to share it with friends and family. The word spread...and here we are. Sharing it with everyone! We have had great response and wonderful comments about the property. We are so happy that everyone loves it!
