Beautifully updated 2 story home right on the water! Located on an all-sports lake, with open floor plan and a spacious living room with fireplace and a patio door leading to the deck. New kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Large master bedroom suite, with a queen bed and with doors leading to a deck, private bath and walk-in closet. Two other bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with 2 twin beds. Laundry room with washer & dryer on first floor. Half bathroom downstairs and 2 full bathrooms upstairs. Great setting for a family!

We were scammed. The house was completely empty and for sale upon our arrival. The property manager never communicated with us other than saying “the morning of your stay I will provide the key code” which he didn’t provide. This doesn’t matter, though, because there was no furniture in the house. It is two weeks after and he still hasn’t reimbursed us.

Nice place to stay

We loved staying here. It was close to amenities, food, and brewery’s. It was great to sit on the back deck and watch the wildlife on the lake. We are looking to come back again next year!

Wonderful property.

Me and my coworkers checked in here for a work stay. The property was clean, and very inviting. The property manager mark, was fantastic and always quick to respond. Not too far from anything you might need.

Good Value

We selected this 3-night rental instead of staying in a hotel. It was very close to our event, and worked well for our purposes. The only downside was the traffic, which was a bit noisy.

House Review

We were there for a Celebration of Life for my niece. We were not at the house that much…..mostly to sleep. Perfect location as 5 minutes from my brother in Westacres. Could use some maintenance!

Good place for 2 older adults to stay

House was very good except for a few minor repairs. Lakeside location was great, especially the presence of wild life. Owner was very responsive. One noteworthy concern was the need for caution due to busy traffic when entering the roadway. We plan to use this property again if it’s available in our next visit to the Commerce MI area.

Commerce Twp VRBO - Very Nice

We had 5 adults for a 4-night stay while we were in the area for a family gathering. Very clean, roomy accommodations with convenient location. Great communication from the host and easy to work with. We didn’t spend much time other than sleeping and breakfast. If you’ve got youngsters that need to play outdoors this wouldn’t be a great choice as road is quite busy, but aside from that would recommend to others.

Cute & clean home by lakeside!!

This home was clean as per the description and utensils are all new. We had enjoyed the stay at this place and definitely recommend it for anyone who is looking to spend time by lake side home. Deck is a plus for this place and peaceful to spend time at the Dawn or Dusk. You can spot Swans, Crain and lots of big fishes. Totally worth it at least for our trip. Mark responds promptly for any queries.

Lily Pad Lake

Beautiful house set on a lily pad lake. House is updated and everything is brand new and very clean. I liked drinking coffee on the porch and watching the swan family and beaver swim by in the mornings. There was a full moon while we were there too, it sets right over the lake and you can see the reflection in the water. Communication with the host was great, and they were available if we needed anything. There is a nice grocery store just up the street.

Waterfront Suburbia

Exceptionally gracious host with ultra fast communication. The house was quiet despite being on a busy road. Only challenge was the heating system - confirm with owner that it's been dealt with before renting in cold weather. The downstairs was very cold and the upstairs extremely hot. Perhaps it was just an adjustment we missed or one that they can make. We would happily consider staying in the property again. It's really nice having a wonderful host to work with!

Comfortable Home

Overall it was a nice little place. Although the uncut lawn was surprising, it was resolved quickly by the owner, which was very nice. The decor and amenities was okay, but It would’ve been nice to have TVs in each bedroom. I appreciated that the owner was quick to respond to any inquiries. I do not recommend this location for Families with children, only because of the dangers of traffic… to no fault of the owner. I would definitely stay there again if the little things are addressed. I slept well and that says everything, because the home was comfortable.

Needed somewhere fast

I never write a review but My family and I came into town for a funeral a very sad time for us and we found this lovely home last minute and was really pleased with the home. Mark he responded to me very quickly and with the answers I needed, the house had a calmness to it that we really needed. If I had to say anything negative about the house is it’s on a really busy road and the grass needed to be cut, which both the could deal with. Thank you Mark for letting us stay at your home. *****

It was just used as a place to sleep and shower for us, location was key. No internet password was found. Smoke alarms went off in middle of the night, we had to buy batteries to replace. Lack of full size towels for showering. Driveway was dangerous for pulling out, if weeds were cut it would be easier to see oncoming traffic.

Roomy house with a nice view

Rooms were as advertised but house and yard need work. There was some visible damage inside the house and some of the windows didn’t have window treatments or didn’t have ones that blocked out the light- including the streetlights. Rooms were sparsely furnished with some areas just empty of furniture. Yard was not taken care of and the lake was solid Lilly pads and really only accessible by kayak. However, the view was very pretty with lots of wildlife. The house itself was clean and was fine to stay in. We were concerned about the street and access based on other reviews, but the driveway was plenty large to turn around in and not have to back out onto the street - this was not an issue at all. Owner communicated well- easy check in.

Not entirely as the listing shows.

The inside of the house is ok. However, the house was right next to very busy road. traffic can be heard throughout the house. Next, it is dangerous and difficult to pull out of driveway because of major blind spot and heavy traffic. We had to make a right hand turn and turn around if we needed to make a left. The oven didn't work, there is no grille, so the ability to prepare food was limited. Could not get on the Wifi. The instructions said that the password was on the back of the wifi router, but there were a lot of numbers on the box and was not clear which one was the right one. I tried them all and none seemed to work. Just dissapointed in the property itself.

Worked for what we needed, with limitations

We had two families with young children for a long weekend stay, and while the home was serviceable, there were quite a few issues. The one positive was that communication with Mark was excellent which solved the biggest issue up front. When we arrived, the floors specifically were very dirty. We made the owner aware and they had a cleaning service come that evening which helped quite a bit. However, many items were broken during our visit (handle missing in kitchen, oven didn't work, curtain rods coming out of walls, paint peeling, just to name a few). It was also on a very loud road and the windows did not keep the sound out. If I had been visiting without children, it would have suited decently, but it was disappointing that we had to be worried about the children (5 yrs, 3 yrs, and 9 mos) getting hurt. We ended up just sleeping here and staying out of the house the rest of the time.

Beautiful Little Lake

The owner had excellent communication. Checked on us mid stay. The property is on a very busy road. Heavy traffic all day. Could almost tell the time of day by the traffic. Property needed a bit of work. Owner all ready aware. Very warm upstairs. The property was in a central location. We booked last minute due to a death in the family. The house was our end of the day refuge. Thank you for sharing your home.

Wedding weekend

Mark was great, communication was excellent with the homeowner. It was exactly what we needed for my daughter‘s wedding weekend at lazy Jay’s Ranch. The house is located on a very busy street however after about 15 minutes we didn’t even notice the traffic. The Lily Lake that it is on is attached to the larger lake by the canal which is perfect for kayaking. We had a swan family visit us every morning and saw a deer and several other wildlife while sitting on the deck having a coffee’s. We would definitely recommend this home as a great lakes getaway.

Good value for the money

Others have commented on traffic noise - true. Nice view of lake. No yard to speak of (keep kids indoors). House recently refurbished - sleeping arrangements (3 full bedrooms and two full baths upstairs) were great. Some difficulties controlling house temperature (cold downstairs and hot upstairs - winter). Host was accommodating is supplying extra place-settings and chairs for dining area. One appliance found not to work (oven - though I imagine not many guests would want to use it). Overall, considering the size and cost compared to other houses in the area, I would consider staying there again.

Great house stay for a trip to the area

Host was very accomodating and house was clean and comfortable, nicely remodeled with lots of space. Central location to get to anything you need - including major highway access and all surrounding towns - yet still peaceful enough to enjoy being by the lakes. Only drawback is being right on a main road (which is much busier with traffic than it used to be when I lived in the area!) so it is a little difficult to get out of driveway. Overall would be happy to book again any time I am coming in to town for family events.
