Garden Guesthouse, 2 bed, 2 bath, close to Universal Studios & Hollywood Blvd

Our beautiful guesthouse has 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths and its own private fenced and landscaped yard complete with patio furniture, BBQ, a relaxing hammock and fountain.
The luxurious main bedroom with a king bed, has French doors opening to the back yard and a full bath attached with a clawfoot tub and stall shower. The 2nd bedroom has a daybed and pop-up trundle bed, (2 single beds which can be joined to make a king if preferred). There is a double sleeper sofa in the living room for extra guests. We also have single rollaway beds and a pack & play crib if needed.
Prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen and eat either on the patio or the dining table for 6 in the living room which also has a gas fireplace for those cool evenings. A 2nd full bath is accessed off the living room.
Although located on a quiet residential street access to freeways and Metro-rail is only a few blocks away. Close to supermarkets, coffee houses, lots of great restaurants & local night life venues.

Our central location provides convenient access to major studios, Universal City entertainment complex (featuring Universal Studios & City Walk, Universal Amphitheater concert venue, multi-theater complex, shops & restaurants), NOHO Arts district and metro-rail station to Hollywood, (walk-of-fame, Graumann's Chinese Theater & Kodak Theater, home of the 'Oscars') and to downtown, Disney Concert Hall, (Frank Gehry's architectural masterpiece), charming Olvera St, Chinatown etc.
Hollywood Bowl, Ford Theater, Griffith Park hiking and riding trails, LA Zoo and Griffith Observatory are also just minutes away.
15 minutes drive will bring you to trendy Melrose Blvd shopping, and a few minutes more to the middle of upscale Beverly Hills. LACMA and Getty museums are also within easy reach.
25 minutes to the beach at Santa Monica & Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach boardwalk and another 15 minutes further up the coast to Malibu.
Disneyland is south of downtown LA, about 40 mins drive.

NOTE: If you do not need both bedrooms, the guest house can also be rented with just the main bedroom and 2 baths at a reduced rate.

Idyllic property!

Hands down one of the best vacation rentals ever! It’s such a sweet property and the attention to detail is amazing. The cottage itself is attached to a main house, but feels completely private. Every space is tranquil, especially the master bedroom, enclosed front patio, and large backyard with a hammock. The house is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the owner Helen was quick and responsive to my texts throughout my stay. Overall this was an absolute gem of a place to stay while we searched for a home to buy in the area.

Serene space, great location

The backyard is peaceful and secluded. Location is near major destinations but does not feel too busy. Helen was a lovely host.

A hidden retreat

We were greeted with fresh flowers in every room and a basket or organic fruit and other treats. The property is attached to a main house but is so private and hidden you would never know there is anyone next door. The unit is beautifully appointed, spotless and the extra amenities make you feel like you are a guest in someone's home not in a rental. The place is prettier than is pictured. What you cannot see in pictures is that it is equipped with extra feather pillows, every toiletry you might have forgotten, laundry soap, a first aid kit, a desk with supplies, fully stocked supplies in the kitchen -baggies, napkins, foil, fragrant candles. The furnishings are comfortable with several throws and pillows, the towels are soft and plentiful, the place is spotless and a parking spot off the street! Helen is responsive and gracious in every way. If you get the chance, I absolutely recommend you stay here.

Home Away From Home

We stayed in Helen's place for 3 months while we were searching for a home - we sold our home in AZ and moved to California to be near our children and grandchildren. The place couldn't have been better. The little house was stocked with everything you could possibly need from spices and seasonings to laundry detergent. We felt right at home and our 2 little dogs loved hanging in the gazebo and roaming around the fenced in backyard. If there was a problem (only 2 times we needed someone to come fix a toilet) Helen had someone come that day .The home was situated in a wonderful part of town with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Helen recommended many places for us to do our shopping and eating. We highly recommend this property.

Between homes

The Hartsook House was the ideal home while we waited to buy and remodel our new condo. The house is very tastefully decorated, has everything and more than you need, and is in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, close to a park for exercise or walking. Helen, The property manager, was very responsive to a few special requests and the house was actually nicer than advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wonderful spot!

We had a great 3 week stay. Close to a market for necessary goods, great place to walk, close to Magnolia Blvd. and our grandson (in Burbank) and close to freeways. A very relaxing, quiet, lovely spot. We hope to do it again next year. Helen and Diane were very quick with answers to any questions and very helpful. SK from PA

Just as lovely, comfortable & convenient as advertised

This was the most pleasant VRBO stay we've had -- partly because of the location, gardens and interior decor, partly because of how thoughtfully and well-provisioned it is -- just like a real homey home. And partly because of Helen's responsiveness to our questions ahead of time. We were delighted, and are already planning to reserve when we come to LA again next fall.

Great House !!!

We really enjoyed 9 day’s vacation here. House is very clean and quiet. All facilities are perfect for us. Back yard garden is so beautiful and we relaxed with morning coffee every day. Helen, thank you very much for your great support for us. We will come back here for next vacation.

North Hollywood Getaway

I recently stayed at the Hartsook Guest House and found the house charming and comfortably relaxing. The house had all the things one might need when traveling. The house was conveniently located near a bus route that connected us with the LA Metro. The house had plenty of space for my family of four to spread out and relax. We felt safe in the neighborhood with the doors open and enjoyed watching a squirrel in the backyard. This retreat home is a hidden gem in the city. We plan on returning again.

Absolutely amazing property!! 😊

We have rent several houses trough Home Away but this has been far one of our favorites. The house itself is beautiful, kitchen is packed with everything you need and even more. Very high quality all the way around from towels to pillows, comforters, shampoo, conditioner the list goes on an on. They absolutely tough of everything to make their guests feel comfortable and at home. Neighborhood is nice and quiet and very close to Universal Studios. Last but not least the backyard is perfect with lot of trees, barbecue and a beautiful hammock to relax on after a fun day. So to say the least it was really hard to go back home we had an absolutely perfect stayed and we will for sure visit again soon! Thank you very much for the wonderful memories my family was able to make in your beautiful place.

Valley Village Wedding Weekend

We were 2 couples enjoying the house as our base during a wedding weekend. While the house is nicely appointed the 2nd smaller bedroom would be more welcoming if it was more well appointed as the master suite is. It’s hard to share this house “fairly” with another couple for that reason. The garden was lovely and the owner and staff responsive. The only thing that would have made it a 5 star stay is that there was noisy repair and renovation work being done on the adjacent property owned by this host and we would have preferred it being done after our stay and not during.

Spacious, quaint, cozy, convenient

We enjoyed our visit! Several locations to relax in the private back yard, spacious living room and front patio. Kitchen was very well stocked. Great mattress in the master bedroom. Plenty of space for 3-4 adults and having a second full bath was perfect. The place is clean, cozy and very comfortable. Quiet neighborhood but easy access to the highway. Check in was a breeze. Our host was responsive and easy to connect with, but we had no need to reach her. We loved the place, had no issues, and would definitely stay here again!!

Awesome Girl's Trip

My friends and I were quite happy with our stay. I would like to thank Diane and Helen. Diane was very helpful with the cable. The house was very clean. The binder was helpful. My friends and I walked to the store. We fell in love with the neighborhood. We would definitely book this property again.

Very comfortable house close to North Holywood.

The house was very clean and had all the ammnities required. Very nice decoration and beautiful bathroom. 20 min walk to metro station. Shops and restaurants very close. I would recommend this place.

Great location

The property was in a cute neighborhood, and the accommodations were very comfortable with a washer and dryer and ample kitchen supplies. Our family of 4 enjoyed 5 nights being close all kinds of Los Angeles spots and attractions. Would definitely book again!

Hartsook Heaven!

This property is an adorable bungalow in N Hollywood. Immaculately clean, safe neighborhood and has everything one would need as well as convenient to anywhere in LA area. Property manager helped with not only reserving but how to get around, best routes to avoid traffic-even fresh flowers in every room. Would recommend 100%!

The Guest House is ideal for comfort and convenience.

Beautifully done, fully appointed with necessities and amenities. Communication from Helen was exceptionally helpful and full of useful information! Highly recommended for a small party of 2-4.

Peaceful Retreat

Nice quiet space to just relax, especially if recovering from a medical procedure. Fully equipped 2 bedroom with everything needed in the kitchen. All is there if you wanted to do full on extensive cooking. Only minor drawback was this property is on flight path of I assume the Burbank airport.

very nice guest house in a great location!

We really enjoyed our vacation in this guest house. The instructions and information that Helen sent us prior to our arrival were extremely valuable, from where to grocery shop to restaurants, local attractions, and even a local dentist should you need that type of help. The best feature was the location. Only 2 miles from Studio City, about 5 miles from Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, and about the same to Universal. Didn't even need to get on the freeways in some cases, which is a blessing. We did have an issue with the furnace and a small roof leak (probably because we got more rain in one day than they usually get in a month or more), but Helen had both issues fixed within a few hours.Don't let that concern you. I'm sure this was an isolated incident. We would definitely stay in this house again. Thanks, Helen!
