Take a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy some quality time at Villa Serena, our relaxing, peaceful, sacred retreat. 2 night minimum stay except over major holidays which require a 3 night minimum stay.

Villa Serena is located in the prestigious Mission Highlands, just a six minute drive from the historic Sonoma Plaza. As you begin your ascent up the hill you will be transported into a world of quiet tranquility.

Our luxurious private residence, surrounded by majestic oaks, olive trees and Chinese maples offers secluded privacy with sweeping views of the Sonoma Valley and Mount Tamalpais.

Beautifully appointed, with impeccable attention to detail, our home is comfortable and soothing while aesthetically pleasing to the Soul. All rooms have cathedral high ceilings which fill with light while displaying stunning views of our natural gardens or the sprawling landscapes below.

Relax in the calming, inviting living room with its stone wood-burning fireplace or
dine in the glass solarium under the oaktrees on a moonlit night.

Indulge in a mid-morning brunch outside on the spacious deck with captivating views. Cook in our fully equipped kitchen, then take a break in the lovely sitting nook and sip on some wine.

Rest in our gorgeous master bedroom and admire the view, complete with a fully remodeled en-suite bathroom and soaking tub.

Read a good book in our cozy guest room with breathtaking views and get comfy in the luxurious bedding and linens. Pamper yourself in the newly remodeled guest bathroom with a soothing full streaming shower.

The open writer's den offers additional sleeping for two on the comfortable queen sleeper sofa with beautiful views out to the enchanting pool garden.

What a gorgeous home! We had such a lovely and peaceful stay at Villa Serena. The views were amazing, and so nice to be surrounded by nature. The pool was just what we needed after a day of exploring, shopping, and wine tasting. This place is the best. Thank you!

Beautiful stay in wine country!!

This was the perfect accommodation for the perfect trip! The pictures online did not do this property justice!! We absolutely loved the house and our stay. The natural lighting, coffee on the deck in the morning. Perfect! Only thing we could have wished for more would have been a heated pool this time of year. But we loved being up high with a view of Sonoma!

This was an amazing stay for my 27th birthday with friends! The host was super nice and responsive and even welcomed us with a bottle of champagne for my birthday- it was so sweet! It was super close to the wineries we planned for tastings but tucked away with the most stunning mountain views! Best of both worlds truly!! Would definitely come back and stay here! 10/10

Up the Hill

This is a lovely home. It was clean, comfortable and has so many spaces to relax and enjoy. The view out the back is beautiful and the pool in the front was very welcome on several hot days. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful home, fantastic view

This was our second stay at this home and we had another amazing anniversary. The location is quiet and the view is spectacular. Very close to tons of restaurants just a few minutes down the hill. We will return.

Beautiful property, lovely view and close to everything!

Our family of 4 (2 adult children) very much enjoyed our stay. Alana and Jo were very communicative, calling to see if we had any questions about the property before we arrived, always available during our stay and even treated us to a bottle of wine. Their messages were always warm and helpful. The house itself was clean, well stocked and just lovely. We enjoyed the different spaces available, including the large deck with views of wine country. The beds were comfortable and the showers had great water pressure. Perfect location; remote enough to provide privacy and close enough to Sonoma square to have access to shops, restaurants and groceries. Hope to stay here again soon; thank you, Alana and Jo, for a wonderful experience!

Property needs a cleanding crew .Pool needs to be closed. I. Do not believe Jo's explanation of the pool's condition.The window's are all filthy dirty.Will not never book VRBO ever again, as your cleaning fee is a scam.Anthony.

Relaxing Beautiful spot...

We rented the home for a wedding we were in town for. It was my adult son and his wife visiting from Austin. and my husband and I. I didn't want to leave the property to participate in the wedding celebrations because I loved the home so much! Relaxing, unbelievable views, tastefully decorated. Clean, and bright! Just so welcoming. I would stay here again absolutely!

The Perfect Place for a Wine Country Trip

My fiancĆ©, my friend, and I stayed here after four long days of hiking at Yosemite. To say this home is relaxing and tranquil is an understatement. The home is gorgeous and quiet, the views are immaculate, and Jo and Alana could not have been better hosts. Itā€™s a 10 minute drive at most to downtown Sonoma and there is so much to do and see around the area. We definitely look forward to staying here again!

Beautiful home, view & area and refreshing pool

The home is so tastefully decorated, just loved it. I was impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked. We were planning to cook and BBQ so we were prepared, but they had thoughtful things that we forgot like having foil and a shelf full of spices. We rented the home for a week to get out of the usually foggy city, so we wanted a view and a pool. A house with a pool not too big for two people is not easy to find, so it was perfect for us. The bed was comfortable and my sister stayed one night in the guest room, and she said the twin bed was comfortable and linens were quality. We loved waking up to a view of the Sonoma valley. The pool was my first requirement and I usually like the temperature like a bathtub. I was hesitant because it's not heated. Temperatures went from over 90 to over 100 and the pool was just right; we even swam in the evenings. We could live on the deck, coffee in the morning, happy hour in the afternoon and dinners each night out doors. We took walks every day and found the neighbors friendly as well. The view reminded of us of a place near Todi, Italy, a favorite of ours. We are in Sonoma often, but still ventured out for a lunch and a few tastings. You are away from it all and it's a peaceful location, and at the same time, the square is 8 mins away We will stay again!

A peaceful beauty

There was no question that this beautiful property was perfect for the celebration of my birthday with my family, but I didnā€™t expect the remarkable peacefulness as well. Each morning we would sit on the deck and marvel at the beautiful vista below. Jo and Alena were perfect hosts in their communication and welcoming spirit.

A few thingsā€¦

We had hoped for a king-sized bed in the bedrooms, a shower in the master and a heated pool and hot tub. The TV wasnā€™t really accessible or watchable, but we didnā€™t need it for us. The place was very serene and we loved all the outdoor spaces, the views and wind chimes. The host was very communicative. The lighting was very confusing even with all the explanations and some didnā€™t work.

Absolutely Incredible

We couldn't get over ever aspect of this house, the property and the views! Although we went about the town shopping, we couldn't wait to get back and spend the evenings and mornings on the patio. It was the perfect house for a retreat that we didn't know we needed so badly. Thank you for the incredible kindness and sincerity in making sure we enjoyed every moment of our stay!

We purchased our Sonoma vacation home in 2008. The minute we walked in and saw the view and experienced the calming effect of the property we knew it was for us. We have spent several years making improvements, painting, furnishing and turning the house into our 'home away from home'. The town of Sonoma is so close to San Francisco and yet feels like you are in another country. It reminds us of parts of Italy with the rolling hills filled with vineyards. We love Villa Serena and have enjoyed the times we've spent here. We hope you will find the serenity that the name implies.

It is only minutes from the historic Sonoma Plaza yet it has the feeling of being very secluded. We have been coming to Sonoma for the past 30 years and have stayed in many of the hotel resorts in the area. Now we have our own 'resort' and can come anytime we want.

One of the benefits of Villa Serena is it's location in the hills just above the Plaza. It is in an exclusive residential neighborhood with views of the valley. It is very private and the setting feels like you could be in Tuscany. The house has a wonderful flow to it and it is perfect for couples as well as a get-away for friends.
