We had a great family vacation in Challis this summer, and I'd wholeheartedly give much of the credit to our stay at Jessie and Cleve's cabin. We stayed at the smaller of two cabins, but found it to be far more spacious than expected. I think the space is used right: The sleeping areas were bit tight, but the kitchen, dining, and living areas were really open, comfortable, and well set up (even has lots of games, puzzles, movies, etc). The property is in a great setting - very private, with a big lawn and good creek access. The hosts are warm and welcoming, cabin was great, location was great... we already want to go back. There are a few cats and couple livestock guardian dogs on site, and we found them to be very sweet and friendly (dogs stay out of the yard, but like the driveway and parking area). They also have chickens, ducks and goats which are kept nearby, but are contained away from the cabin site (rooster woke me up once, so I shut the window and turned on a fan - no prob!). I can't imagine anyone having any issues, but thought someone might benefit from knowing what to expect. Jessie shared some eggs and soaps that she made. Kind of a cool experience! It took around 12 minutes to get into town - but who goes to Challis for the town!? We spent our time exploring the endless public land right out the back door. We stayed five nights, but felt like we could have stayed another five (...or more) without ever getting homesick. We're doing this again.
