I said at this hotel again it was rundown elevators, where not in the best condition they were always dirty. Front desk was chaotic and overall it was not a good day. I didn’t complain so I just stayed there until the duration of my stay, but then seven days after my rental Host reached out to me trying to charge me 45 because she said that her towels were damaged however they were normal used towels and in her photo she only sent me one towel and tried to charge me 45 for one towel and said that all the towels were ruined and all it was was a dirt stain that she had trouble getting out, but that’s not my problem. You know I pay a cleaning fee. I paid all these additional fees and she charged me just extra fees unnecessarily and still was trying to find a way to continue to charge me and overcharge me and try to pray on her guests, so I highly do not recommend booking scammy practices

This hotel was rundown and not clean. Possibly nice in 1970. My wife and I actually did laugh about how bad it was. Elevators took 30 minutes to leave they were barely functioning and had to take 14 flights of steps with bags to finish the trip. Oh I almost forgot as we were leaving seen a roach on the wall in the bathroom.

This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. The listing was completely misleading—there was no balcony as advertised, and the main light above the bed didn’t work the entire time. The biggest issue, though, was a serious violation of privacy: I came back to my room and found a man inside without any notice. No one informed me that anyone would be entering the property, and I felt completely violated and unsafe.When I contacted the host, Sherry Battle, she was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive of my very valid concerns. She showed no accountability or concern for guest safety or comfort. I would never stay here again and I strongly warn others to stay away from this listing. The host’s behavior was completely unacceptable, and the lack of respect for guest privacy and basic hospitality is shocking. Zero stars. Do not recommend.

This rental was not as nice as I had hoped for the money I could have had a better stay somewhere else the sheets were stained, windows were dirty the panel on the refrigerator door was screwed on with screws. I wished I stayed somewhere else

No Luxury Here

Unit is converted hotel room. Neither the bed nor the two table chairs (the only furniture available to sit on) came close to the comfort one might expect in a ‘Luxury Beachfront Condo” While the bedding was clean, the pillows were all very uncomfortable, as was the mattress. There was a coffee maker, but no Coffee cups of any kind. We got plastic tumblers from the Hotel Bar to drink our coffee from. There was no kitchen sink and no way to stop up the bathroom sink to wash the coffee pot and plastic cups. While there was a Microwave it was useless for us and the refrigerator good only to keep beverages we brought cold. We stayed only 3 of the 5 nights we booked. Granted there was as storm coming in

Misleading

Building should be demolished! The only Elevator to the parking garage was broke the whole time, so you have to walk down wet piss stairs which my wife slipped and fell badly. There's no utensils provided. The room is put together with half broken items. I'd highly advise booking somewhere else.

Advertised as a condo. Not!! This is a hotel room. No deck/Balcony as advertised. No hot tub as advertised. There is a bed, a table. 2 chairs, one of which was broken and the owner is trying to charge us, a refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee pot. No glasses. No cups, no dishes of any kind. No sofa, loveseat. The room is on the 14th floor of a run down, shady hotel

The worst experience ever

No,we did not enjoy my stay because I didn't even get inside the room. I went to MertleBeach early to spend the day with my Boyfriend before checking into the room at 4pm, we got to the hotel after 5:30pm.The confirmation we recieved were instructed to reach out to the property owner to get the key. I first tried to call her but she didn't answer, so I then had to text her through the Verbo App. Once the property manager finally reached out to me through text she gave us a completly different address then what was given in the verbo app. I then had to reach out to her again to confirm the address because it was more then an hour away from where we were already at from the original directions we got on verbo. I ended going into the hotel to find out if I was at the right place, I was. While I was still waiting for the property owner to get back to me. My boyfriend and I decided to go to the store, as we were about to check out the property owner finally calls me 20mins later saying she was freaking out because the cleaning made hasn't got to the condo to clean. The property owner then gave me options on what I could do, which were giving me back the cleaning fee or refund me the full amount for the rental and we can stay somewhere else. At that point my boyfriend & I were frustrated with the whole situation we just wanted to go home so we asked for the refund. Now 3 weeks has passed the property owner won't answer my calls, and I now have an on going investigation with verbo.

Great host

The host is great very nice lady. Everything was good their is a few adjustments needed especially to the whole building it definitely need a lot of maintenance the room has a few flaws it’s smaller than expected bathtub needs work windows definitely need upgraded but over all great view no balcony we really wanted a balcony. It doesn’t feel safe in some parts of the building the elevators definitely need some work the building is just old the room would be perfect in a different building just my opinion

Loved it!!!

We had an absolutely lovely stay! The hotel room was exactly as pictured, super clean, and in a great location! It was right on the beach and only a few minutes away from a couple of restaurants, grocery stores, beach stores - everything you need! It was less than half an hour from the boardwalk and the outlets as well! If you’re thinking about booking with Sherry, do it! She was absolutely wonderful, she was very quick to answer my messages and questions, extremely helpful and kind! I will definitely book with her again in the future if I get the chance!

Misrepresented room, unprofessional owner, zero customer service

The building is substandard. The owner is not an asset to VRBO. The room was in disrepair; I have photos. Our main concern was safety as the bathtub bottom (floor) was slick as ice. I slid with one foot inside the tub and caught myself with the grab bar. If I were unable to catch myself, I no doubt would have had broken bones. My back and hip are still sore. When I wrote to the owner, she got defensive and stated she has bath mats indide the closet (a cluttered mess). A bath towel type mat would have only make the situation worse. I suggested a rubber mat for the tub, and she stated she never stayed anywhere with a rubber mat. The place was not totally clean and was in disrepair. I have photos. It was so bad that we left on Saturday instead of Tuesday. We tried reaching the owner by sending an email on Thursday night. By Saturday morning we did not hear back. Since checkout is 11 a.m. we left. The owner stated we did not hear back within 24 hours as it was her birthday, and this was after we left. She refused to refund $300. These are only the highlights. I have photos for all I stated, and could state so much more with photos.

Not what expected AT ALL

Although the pictures were accurate this is really a small dysfunctional space that was very dirty, smelly, noisy and wreaked of pot. There were no utensils in the so-called kitchen and if you mistakenly give towels to housekeeping you will be charged to replace them without getting clean ones to replace them. The armoire blocked the TV so you had to practically stand on the bed to work it. This was definitely not worth the money I paid and we left a day early and checked into a nicer hotel. The upside is that it did have a beautiful view but a nice view doesn't make up for all the negatives. The host was good at responding but there wasn't much to say knowing I'm being "invoiced to replace towels" given to housekeeping.

Great Room - Be Sure to Book in Advance

Overall I enjoyed my stay! The room was bigger than pictured and was clean. There were extra towels, blankets, beach chairs, and boogie boards in the closet. This listing is for a hotel room on the 14th floor, so you must go through hotel staff for anything you need. No problems with parking, but the garage was a bit hard to access and got backed up easily. There were some problems with the host. Upon booking the room, I was not provided with check-in details. I messaged the host asking for check-in details, and she replied with a message thanking me for booking the room. The next day (the day of our trip), I messaged her again about getting the check-in info to which she replied "sure". I sent another message asking if this was a hotel room and how I would get a key and was then given the hotel name, the door code, and info about getting a parking pass. I was never given a room number, so I messaged the host again. Check-in was at 4 and I arrived at the hotel around 5:15 and still had no answer from the host. I messaged the host again telling her I had arrived and received no answer. I also called the host but she did not pick up. I went into the hotel and asked the front desk if they knew what room I would be in, but they did not. I waited an hour and called the host 3 more times and still got no answer. I attempted to leave a voicemail, but her mailbox was full. I contacted Vrbo customer service, who called the host twice and got no answer. The host finally called me at 7 (3 hours after check-in time) and gave me the room number. She was very apologetic and said that there had been a storm in her area so she had not received the messages. Be aware that there are other reviews on this listing discussing similar situations as this one. The next day 2 woman knocked on the door and said they were friends of Sherry's. They had come all the way to my room to make sure I had gotten in okay. I know this was meant to be nice, but it was rather unsettling considering I am a young woman in my early 20s (staying with a friend of the same age) and had two strangers at my hotel door. The host was aware of my age, so I am not sure why she sent someone (not affiliated with the hotel) directly to my room. Check-in details should have been provided - guests should not need to contact the host multiple times to get key info about their stay. Nice place, but read reviews and book in advance so you aren't waiting hours to see if you'll have a place to sleep.

GUEST BEWARE-ROACHES! Looks can be deceiving!

I never right reviews but this experience has to be shared because no one deserves to be treated this poorly when spending their hard earned money! To start, the Host is completely unprofessional and should not be in the customer service business! As late as 3 hours prior to our checkout, this host never sent us any check-in information or directions on parking or anything. We sent the host a message but she decided to ignore us because she assumed that we were attempting to check-in early, which was not the case. At the time of our check-in, she still had not sent us the access code and only sent us the floor # 30 minutes after our check-in time, so we ended up having to call her and she was never apologetic about the inconvenience. Well, to add insult to injury, when you walk in, the space looks as pictured but once you get in there and start trying to relax, all the issues rear their ugly heads. We experienced a baby roach crawling across our bed, nets flying around the room, a wet tissue box stuck to the back of the bathroom toilet, a dirty shower curtain, and some sort of material was falling out of the sheets when we went to untuck the sheets. We brought this to the attention of the host and I was mortified by her response. She decided to attack me and constantly sent me disrespectful messages throughout our stay. We decided to check out early & cut our trip short because we could not enjoy our stay due to her unprofessional and constant harassing behavior. I still can but believe what I experienced here. Please avoid this woman’s property, it will save you from having one of the worst experiences ever! I also talked to the front desk clerk who was distracted because other patrons of the building were at the front counter complaining about roaches in their room! This building is not it, stay somewhere else!
