Staff kept facility clean. The hotel needs some brightening the colors are so dark compared to others. The room had everything we needed, any issues were handled by the owner. A couple issues were the buildings fault but were handled as quick as possible. Had an amazing view. Met lots of friendly people! Delicious food made right downstairs! Lol just do a room check before you leave because i ran off and left a few things! I would recommend rental to others!

Last minute beach trip

The location was awesome, right on the beach. The room itself and the 14th floor was musty and there was no balcony. Check in was a bit difficult as we had to reach out for the room number and door code.

The room was not modern - not exclusive - not a retreat. This condo is a converted hotel room. No washer/dryer, no balcony.The property was a HUGE disappointment. Needs renovation, overall dirty, groups of people just hanging out in the lobby and corridors. Pool areas very dated. Expected nicer for the money.This beautiful picture with artwork and sleek decor does not reflect the actual room - close, but not really. The photographer did a great job! The room was clean but sticky floors, the towels were clean but stained, no hand/bath soap. No actual kitchen - just a microwave, coffee maker and frig. No cups, utensils, or plate ware. Would not recommend.

Anniversary trip

Do not book, this was the worst host experience Iā€™ve ever had. Our flight landed in Myrtle at 8:30pm and we still had yet to receive check-in instructions from the host, Sherry Battle. I messaged her on the Vrbo app to inquire about the check-in details, but didnā€™t hear anything back. We got to the resort (Sun and Sand) around 9:30pm and went to the front desk to ask if they could help us with the check-in process. The manager, Nick, stated that they as a resort have nothing to do with this Vrbo listing and he couldnā€™t help. I messaged the host yet again, asking for check-in information. I searched the listing for a phone number to call the host, but no contact information was provided. I asked the resort manager to call on my behalf and he said no. I called Vrboā€™s customer service & after being on hold for over an hour, I was connected with someone and I asked if she could give me the hostā€™s phone number so I could call and get the check-in details. I was told she couldnā€™t share that information. I asked her to call the host, so she placed me on hold while she attempted to call. That phone number was ā€œdisconnectedā€ & she said the voicemail was full. Long story short, the host finally messaged me back around 11pm with the door code. No room # or other check-in info, just a door code. We got to the room and noticed there was no balcony. The fridge water/ice didnā€™t work. The overhead light didnā€™t work. Phone didnā€™t work. Lots more, but Iā€™m maxed out on word count lol.

Scammy Practices

I said at this hotel again it was rundown elevators, where not in the best condition they were always dirty. Front desk was chaotic and overall it was not a good day. I didnā€™t complain so I just stayed there until the duration of my stay, but then seven days after my rental Host reached out to me trying to charge me 45 because she said that her towels were damaged however they were normal used towels and in her photo she only sent me one towel and tried to charge me 45 for one towel and said that all the towels were ruined and all it was was a dirt stain that she had trouble getting out, but thatā€™s not my problem. You know I pay a cleaning fee. I paid all these additional fees and she charged me just extra fees unnecessarily and still was trying to find a way to continue to charge me and overcharge me and try to pray on her guests, so I highly do not recommend booking scammy practices

This was one of the worst travel experiences Iā€™ve ever had. The listing was completely misleadingā€”there was no balcony as advertised, and the main light above the bed didnā€™t work the entire time. The biggest issue, though, was a serious violation of privacy: I came back to my room and found a man inside without any notice. No one informed me that anyone would be entering the property, and I felt completely violated and unsafe.When I contacted the host, Sherry Battle, she was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive of my very valid concerns. She showed no accountability or concern for guest safety or comfort. I would never stay here again and I strongly warn others to stay away from this listing. The hostā€™s behavior was completely unacceptable, and the lack of respect for guest privacy and basic hospitality is shocking. Zero stars. Do not recommend.

This hotel was rundown and not clean. Possibly nice in 1970. My wife and I actually did laugh about how bad it was. Elevators took 30 minutes to leave they were barely functioning and had to take 14 flights of steps with bags to finish the trip. Oh I almost forgot as we were leaving seen a roach on the wall in the bathroom.

No Luxury Here

Unit is converted hotel room. Neither the bed nor the two table chairs (the only furniture available to sit on) came close to the comfort one might expect in a ā€˜Luxury Beachfront Condoā€ While the bedding was clean, the pillows were all very uncomfortable, as was the mattress. There was a coffee maker, but no Coffee cups of any kind. We got plastic tumblers from the Hotel Bar to drink our coffee from. There was no kitchen sink and no way to stop up the bathroom sink to wash the coffee pot and plastic cups. While there was a Microwave it was useless for us and the refrigerator good only to keep beverages we brought cold. We stayed only 3 of the 5 nights we booked. Granted there was as storm coming in

The host is great very nice lady. Everything was good their is a few adjustments needed especially to the whole building it definitely need a lot of maintenance the room has a few flaws itā€™s smaller than expected bathtub needs work windows definitely need upgraded but over all great view no balcony we really wanted a balcony. It doesnā€™t feel safe in some parts of the building the elevators definitely need some work the building is just old the room would be perfect in a different building just my opinion

The worst experience ever

No,we did not enjoy my stay because I didn't even get inside the room. I went to MertleBeach early to spend the day with my Boyfriend before checking into the room at 4pm, we got to the hotel after 5:30pm.The confirmation we recieved were instructed to reach out to the property owner to get the key. I first tried to call her but she didn't answer, so I then had to text her through the Verbo App. Once the property manager finally reached out to me through text she gave us a completly different address then what was given in the verbo app. I then had to reach out to her again to confirm the address because it was more then an hour away from where we were already at from the original directions we got on verbo. I ended going into the hotel to find out if I was at the right place, I was. While I was still waiting for the property owner to get back to me. My boyfriend and I decided to go to the store, as we were about to check out the property owner finally calls me 20mins later saying she was freaking out because the cleaning made hasn't got to the condo to clean. The property owner then gave me options on what I could do, which were giving me back the cleaning fee or refund me the full amount for the rental and we can stay somewhere else. At that point my boyfriend & I were frustrated with the whole situation we just wanted to go home so we asked for the refund. Now 3 weeks has passed the property owner won't answer my calls, and I now have an on going investigation with verbo.

Loved it!!!

We had an absolutely lovely stay! The hotel room was exactly as pictured, super clean, and in a great location! It was right on the beach and only a few minutes away from a couple of restaurants, grocery stores, beach stores - everything you need! It was less than half an hour from the boardwalk and the outlets as well! If youā€™re thinking about booking with Sherry, do it! She was absolutely wonderful, she was very quick to answer my messages and questions, extremely helpful and kind! I will definitely book with her again in the future if I get the chance!

Advertised as a condo. Not!! This is a hotel room. No deck/Balcony as advertised. No hot tub as advertised. There is a bed, a table. 2 chairs, one of which was broken and the owner is trying to charge us, a refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee pot. No glasses. No cups, no dishes of any kind. No sofa, loveseat. The room is on the 14th floor of a run down, shady hotel

Misrepresented room, unprofessional owner, zero customer service

The building is substandard. The owner is not an asset to VRBO. The room was in disrepair; I have photos. Our main concern was safety as the bathtub bottom (floor) was slick as ice. I slid with one foot inside the tub and caught myself with the grab bar. If I were unable to catch myself, I no doubt would have had broken bones. My back and hip are still sore. When I wrote to the owner, she got defensive and stated she has bath mats indide the closet (a cluttered mess). A bath towel type mat would have only make the situation worse. I suggested a rubber mat for the tub, and she stated she never stayed anywhere with a rubber mat. The place was not totally clean and was in disrepair. I have photos. It was so bad that we left on Saturday instead of Tuesday. We tried reaching the owner by sending an email on Thursday night. By Saturday morning we did not hear back. Since checkout is 11 a.m. we left. The owner stated we did not hear back within 24 hours as it was her birthday, and this was after we left. She refused to refund $300. These are only the highlights. I have photos for all I stated, and could state so much more with photos.
