Marula is an amazing African glamping experience located between Kerrville and Camp Verde in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Stay with us in an authentic African tent (with A/C, full kitchen, bath and outdoor shower) nestled on 50+ acres of our 800 acre game preserve. Watch, photograph and enjoy rare and endangered animals as they stroll by the camp both day and night. Enjoy the cocktail pool with breathtaking views after a day of exploring all the Hill Country has to offer. Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Comfort, and Bandera are all within a thirty minute drive of Marula.

Words cannot express the beauty of this place! Simply…whether during the day or at night - breathtaking. A huge thank you to our host who was incredibly accommodating and detailed with information about Marula and all it had to offer. We spent our 28th anniversary here and it was wonderful. It was relaxing and quiet. The view was beautiful! The only problem was that we were only there for 2 days. We will be going back for a longer stay. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Great way to spend a few days

Absolutely wonderful! The place was amazing beyond expectations. Wild life was everywhere from the abundance of native birds to the African deere things lol. Oh and I absolutely loved the laptop and the dvds what a beautiful touch of realism to the "glamping" aesthetic.

27th anniversary getaway

We enjoyed our stay, everything met our expectations from cleanliness, comfort, nice and quiet. Close proximity to towns for day trips, eating, entertainment. Property has no other houses around or shared property with owner so we truly had privacy we could enjoy the hill top view and quiet time.

Great stay!

Everything is as it is described. Kitchen is well stocked. Tub is great to sit and relax. Back patio and Spa have an amazing view to sit, relax, and take in surrounding views.

Most beautiful little getaway!

This is our second time to stay at Marula, and we're hoping it won't be our last. This is the perfect private getaway for relaxing, slowing down, and enjoying nature. It is fun to lay on the patio or in the pool and watch the animals go by. The host is so easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend for a couple looking for a quiet weekend.

Relaxing weekend

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place! Exotic but comfortable with views for miles. It was hot outside but the cute safari vibe was cool inside. Lori is a great host !

Beautiful Home and Property

Wife and I loved this place. Everything about it was perfect for our weekend together. The animals are beautiful, the view is beautiful, the home is beautiful. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic location for you and your spouse, then this is the place. You will absolutely love it.

What a peaceful place

If you would like to get away to somewhere quiet where there are no distractions, I highly recommend Marula. The exotic animals are a real treat. Marula is far enough out to be quiet but still close enough to Kerrville and Fredericksbirg to find plenty to do. The accommodations are great and even on a 100 degree day the AC is surprisingly good.

Glamping near its finest!

Private, quiet and intimate with a wonderful view and great access to the surrounding Hills Country, and its sights and communities. Well-appointed kitchen for eating in, and good restaurants within a reasonable drive for dining out, Overall, if you use a little imagination, it almost has the feel of a real African safari. Very cool!

Marula is a wonderful couples getaway. It is a beautiful place and everything is there for you. It is secluded but it is quite accessible too. The hosts are fantastic and my wife and I enjoyed our stay and we will be back. If this is the kind of thing that you like then you will love it as we did .

Amazing place

Had a great time, very relaxing, beautiful scenery and decorated perfectly. Was a fun experience in the tent but with all the amenities of home. Also has a well stocked kitchen and was very clean so no need to go out if you plan ahead and cook yourself. Also centrally located to most of the hot hill country spots, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Boerne, comfort are all just a few short drives away. Lisa was a great host and very responsive, will definitely be back.

So relaxing!!!

Marula was absolutely beautiful! My husband and I enjoyed relaxing in the pool and watching the animals! Everything about this property is stunning, and the hosts have everything you need! Lori was very thoughtful and helpful as well from booking to check-out! We loved our stay and would absolutely recommend Marula to anyone! We hope to come back soon!!!

African getaway

We have been to several game parks in Africa and Lori has replicated the experience incredibly well. We love the attention to detail and the privacy. Everything was perfect. We will definitely look for the opportunity to come back.

Exceeded expectations!

This place is so beautiful and relaxing. First of all you have complete and total privacy. Lori is an amazing host and has thought of every little detail to make your stay perfect. The views are magical. We lived on the back deck in the cocktail pool and enjoyed watching the animals in the evening. We were able to completely unplug and relax. We hope to visit again!

Hidden Gem

This place was simply amazing!! The perfect getaway. Relaxing in the pool at sunset while watching the animals graze at the watering hole. Watching the hummingbirds feed consistently all day long. The accommodations were so comfortable and clean. Lori was very responsive to anything we needed. Will definitely be staying here again. I truly cannot say enough good things about this location.
