Nice quiet stay

Myself and my family stayed here for a family vacation. Home was very clean in a quiet neighborhood that was nearby a few nice restaurants and cafés. Owner was communicative and a pleasure to work with.

Lake Superior Getaway

Very comfortable stay. Our family of 7 was in the area to explore the towns and Apostle islands. This location was very centrally located and easy to access.

Kitchen was excellently stocked with utensils, dishes, pans etc. and spacious.We could never get the combination for entry to work so used the “hidden” key.Plenty of towels and bedding. Over all plenty of room and furniture.With one bathroom and 6 adults it would be nice to have mirrors in each bedroom.We also grilled on evening.. Nice restaurants and cafe’s available.

This home was wonderful! My family of 6 had more than enough room here and everyone had their own space. There was plenty of towels for us to use. The beds were comfy, we all slept great. We ate dinner one night at Patsy's. Definitely recommend eating there, it was delicious, and we could walk there from the house! The grocery store is also within walking distance. The location was perfect! We spent half our time in Ashland, the other half in Bayfield! Washburn is about halfway between the two. We will definitely stay here again!

Walking distance to downtown. We stayed with our adult children. Lots of fun memories, great meals, disc golf and reading in the hammock on the front porch!

Great spot!

This place was perfect for what we needed. The front porch was the highlight of our mornings, drinking coffee in the rocking chairs. It’s within close distance to all the things we were hoping to get to, Bayfield and the apostle islands. It may be due for a bug treatment as there were lots of spiders throughout the house, but other than that this place was awesome!

Home away from home

Updated and expanded early 20th-century home with many thoughtful touches. Beautiful porch and deck with seating plus a superb hammock. Responsive host, great amenities including kitchen and laundry, very comfortable rooms and great neighborhood - quiet for sleeping as we prepped for our Lake Superior Swim to Madeline Island.

Washburn stay

As the listing stated the house is very spacious and in a quiet neighborhood with 2 bedrooms downstairs and 4 single beds upstairs, one being a bunk bed. Large yard included a grill and an area for a fire, which we did not use. It had everything we needed and looks nicer in person than it does in photos. We loved the location in layed back Washburn and the host was available to call anytime if needed. We will definitely be looking to stay again in future.

Great place and a fantastic weekend!

We had a wonderful time reconnecting with the area and the location of this place was perfect. The neighborhood is quiet but close to everything - within walking distance for a lot of businesses. We spent time in Bayfield, Washburn and Ashland so we felt like we were central to all locations. The house has some old charm (the floors in the living room are very cool) and we also loved the chalkboard wall. The rooms and beds were comfortable and the place was clean and tidy. Bill was a great host, answering questions and giving advice on the road construction before our stay, and quick to respond to messages during and after our stay as well. Also, we appreciated the written notes left in certain areas to let us know how to use/take care of the home.

Nice place for family of 7

Our adult kids and spouses and my husband and I all enjoyed our stay at Bob's! :-) There was a full kitchen, comfortable beds, nice bathroom with tub/shower, plenty of linens/towels/blankets, etc. The house was clean and vacuumed, although the bedrooms were a bit dusty but just on the walls. The "firepit" area was disappointing, but Bob said he'd buy a firepit ring for future guests, and we were able to enjoy a fire! There were plenty of folding chairs for it, too. No firewood, but we bought some. Overall, a very nice place to stay! We would definitely recommend it!! :-)

Nice

Overall, the house exceeded expectations. The kitchen being away from the rest of the home was helpful in the mornings. The living room was tight but we enjoyed time on the front deck in the hammock and rockers. There were only 2 fans for the warm nights, so we purchased one for the 3rd bedroom. In future this will not be a concern, but unfortunately, the road going thru Washburn was under construction making it difficult to walk around town.

Weekend away

I’ve stayed at several properties over the last several years by myself with friends, and with family. This property was just not up to my cleaning standards. Specifically, the living room corners cobwebs. The living room furniture was very uncomfortable. We had a hard time being able to relax at night. Overall, I would give it about a three stat rating. If you’re able to overlook some cleanse, leanness and comfortability, the price is right.

Nice stay

The description of the house is pretty accurate. The neighbors next door were parting both Friday and Saturday night into the wee hours. Don't know if this is normal or not. Note there is one small bathroom. For 8 people this could be a problem and so it will take time to get ready to go places unless you plan well. There is parking in the back at the garage.

Convenient Washburn WI Home

This is an older home that has been furnished to serve up to nine guests. One nice bathroom on the first floor. No bathroom on the second floor. Decor and furnishing are basic and functional. Nice Kitchen. This worked well for a family group that included two small boys ages 2 and 4. The home is in an older neighborhood just a few blocks off the lake and therefore convenient to downtown, and the parks, trails, and beaches up and down Lake Superior. Our need to text/call the owner was minimal but owner did respond quickly when we did text. We recommend this as a comfortable, basic, convenient house for visiting Bayfiled County.

Quiet Neighborhood, awesome owner

We loved the neighborhood, it was quiet and felt very safe. The house wasn't luxurious but it served our purpose perfectly! We loved the front porch, which had chairs and a hammock to relax in the early morning and evenings. There were some folding chairs and a grill on the back deck,which led to the large yard with plenty of space for the kids to play safely. There were 2 bedrooms on the main level, one with a queen one with a king size bed. The living room is small but there is a connecting dining room that allowed for everything we needed. The kitchen and bathroom were great! Upstairs there is a twin bed in the open landing area and the bedroom has a bunk bed and another twin bed. All linens were clean. The were only a couple negatives. The grass was long when we arrived. Someone ended up showing up to mow late in the evening which ended our ability to sit outside and left very large rows of grass chunks everywhere since the length was long. There are 2 window air conditioners, one upstairs and one in the livings room. The first night was rough but once we found the fans we were able to circulate the air and the next night was better! (Fans were in the laundry room connected to the kitchen). Lastly, it was dusty and had dirt on the floor around the baseboards. But it was easily looked over with the amazing communication and fast responses of the owner! Bill was so nice and always responded to our questions so quickly!

Wonderful family retreat

We are a family of six with kids ages 12-20. We appreciated the spaciousness of this property (four bedrooms and large yard) as well as the quiet of the neighborhood. It was centrally located for enjoying all of the Apostle Island activities as well as Ashland. It was a quick and easy walk to the Washburn Historic Lake Trail as well as the grocery store. We enjoyed the shops of Washburn and the farmers market. Of course the highlights of our trip were exploring the Islands by cruise and kayak as well as the many beautiful hiking trails we explored. Communicating with Bill was easy and he always replied quickly.

Lots of room and comfortable

There was plenty of room and privacy for our group of 6. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking items that we needed. Love the porch with the chairs.
