Comfortable home and great location

Beds were very comfortable, plenty of room, and great location. Quick run to town and short drive to the top of the mountain.

Over 20 yrs of renting on the mountain and one of our favs, beds were super comfy and house was clean and well appointed.

Great Stay

Just as described - very nice stay. Grandparents appreciated the two bedrooms on the main floor, to minimize steps. Fireplace kept us cozy. Host was very responsive and helped resolve a small problem with the back door in a lickety-split time!

Great spot!

The house was exactly as advertised, and was perfect for our weekend of snowboarding at Wintergreen -- located right next to the top of the mountain but also near the bottom so that we could easily access the restaurants and breweries on 151. Would absolutely rent it again.

Quaint cottage with lovely view. Very quiet and immersed in nature. Love the gas fireplace. The deck is awesome. Lots of nearby scenic trails.

Fantastic house in a great location

Title says it all - we were a group of 7 coming to Wintergreen for a ski weekend. House space worked out perfectly for all of us to sleep, to eat and to hang out in the living room! Location was also perfect - just 3 minutes from the slope parking! Only potential downside is that the home is three levels, and spiral staircases are the only way to access the 1st and 3rd levels. This was not an issue for us, but may be for others. Highly recommend this property!

Wintergreen Cottage

Pros: The house from the outside is lovely. The views from the back deck are stunning. Cons: The front door is difficult to open and close. The bathroom door on the main level does not close properly. There was only one roll of toilet paper, no shampoo or body soap in the bathrrom, not even travel sizes. The house has base heaters that took a very long time to warm from their setting of 50 degrees. For the cost to stay at this cottage, we were expecting a higher level of accommodations.

Warm, cozy, filled w/ great amenities!

We stayed here because we were moving and were waiting a few days to close. It was just two of us, but it seemed as if 10 people could stay here comfortably between three well furnished floors. The property and views were gorgeous; all the appliances worked great (big fridge, good stove, washer/dryer, and TVs with a zillion channels). Such a fabulous place to unwind and relax after days driving a U-Haul. It snowed while we were there, and the next day, our stairs and driveway were completely plowed ~ what service! We can't say enough good things about the comfort and convenience of this home, especially for the price!

Wonderful Mountain Retreat

The property is located very close to the Wintergreen peak, providing easy access to the slopes and other activities. It is also convenient to eating/drinking on Highway 151. The kitchen is well equipped, and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed walking on some of the trails on the Rockfish Valley Loop. The wrap-around deck amidst the trees was enjoyable given the fall foliage and the mild temperatures.

Peaceful Secluded Get Away

This house is located on a very nice peaceful secluded street before you get to the central part of Wintergreen Resort. Which is why we rented this house. There are no vista views of the mountains, but the view of the colored leaves from the family room out over the deck was spectacular! The leaves on the hickory trees had all turned and there appeared to be hickory trees everywhere around this house. So we found the location and the view out the windows to be delightful. The kitchen had everything we needed and was spotless. The Samsung smart TV worked very well and interfaced well with my Samsung phone. However, there was no cable TV hookup. The family room baseboard heat met our needs but there were a couple nights when I wish it would have gotten a little warmer. We ended up turning the heat up higher, in the lower level, which helped a lot. The lock on the sliding door out to the back deck did not work well. The chandelier over the dining room table didn't work, but there was a floor lamp nearby that helped. The manager of the property never communicated with us during our stay. We were very busy hiking and motorcycling, so we didn't have a chance to send a message to the manager. The manager was very responsive and answered all of our questions prior to arrival. There are a lot of steps, to get down to the house, but it wasn't excessive. We are retired adults and were able to manage. Because you walk down steps, it means the whole house is surrounded by beautiful tall trees, and the house is not right next to the street, which makes it very special! The parking area and steps are very well lit. Wintergreen is a WONDERFUL RESORT all year round. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back!

Thank you for your review Connie! We were happy to have you as a guest and always welcome constructive feedback. Just to note—we have YouTube TV which has the local channels and most other major networks. Both televisions are “Smart” and connect through WiFi and not a cable connection. The light above the dining room table has a dimmer switch and was working when we were at the house last weekend. The lock on the back door does have instructions but can be a little tricky. I will have someone take a look at it. Again, I am thankful that you took the time to provide feedback. Sounds like you had a good trip! Please visit us again.

Great Weekend Getaway!

Beautiful newly renovated property just shy of the resort and market. Gorgeous view of the changing leaves from the back. Nice and quiet - great place to get away from it all and unwind. Lots of room for more than one family - it was just the two of us this time, but we can imagine having a great family get together in this house!
