A Wonderful Cottage

It was a beautiful, clean cottage, with easy access to downtown Lake Worth and the other little towns around. We really enjoyed our stay.Thank you!

Do NOT stay here. I thought the other reviews were just being picky so I gave this place the benefit of the doubt which was the wrong move. The pictures are very misleading. The floors have been cheaply redone and are already water damaged, there was no shower curtain in one of the restrooms, and most importantly the door code we were provided DID NOT WORK! We were locked out in the cold (50s is cold for Floridians lol) and the host did not respond to multiple messages, multiple phone calls, and his voicemail box is full. Amazingly the side door was unlocked so we found another way in but the lack of communication while being locked out was unacceptable. So sad to see the pictures of what this rental once was and what it turned into now. Beds were very uncomfortable, stains in the sheets and curtains and even the wall, a coffee maker you cant use unless you bring your own k-cups (we brought our own ground coffee), and half done trim and missing vent covers. It sufficed for one night but would not recommend to my worst enemy.
The property photos show a nice orange tile, which has been replaced by cheap flooring thats already damaged.

We stayed her for our dogs. They loved the yard, chasing lizards and squirrels was their favorite past time.

Nice place for family vacation

Just 5 minutes from Lake Worth Beach. Nice backyard area with picnic tables in the shade.

Florida vacation

I was very pleased with the space and how comfortable we were. The back yard was perfect for our dog. The inside was very well kept and cute. Thank you we look forward to next year.

What a surprise

The cottage was sooo cute. It looked so tiny as you drive up, but once you go in, it was much larger. It was decorated very nice, the appliances looked in great shape. The bathrooms were lovely and also had supplies. The owner did a really nice job and we would stay there again without hesitation. The only minus I would say is a better kitchen rug. The small one was very light and kept scooting and flipping edges. Maybe a slightly heavier one. Loved our stay !!!

This was my first time booking through Vrbo, and unfortunately, it confirmed my concerns about using a vacation rental instead of a hotel.The first unit was filthy and unprepared:•Photo A: Stained, hairy sheets.•Photo B: Overflowing garbage bins with a strong odor.•Photo C: Dirty refrigerator.•Photo D: Oven covered in grime, unusable.The host offered a second unit, assuring me it was clean, but it also fell short:•Photo E: Dirty bathroom sink/shower—I had to clean it before anyone could bathe.•Photo F: Stained drapes.•Photo G: Couch so dirty I had to cover it with a blanket I purchased.•Photo H: Minimal cookware—only a tiny frying pan, making cooking impossible.Other issues included plumbing problems; the shower didn’t drain properly, leaving us standing in pooled water. Because of the unclean kitchen and lack of supplies, I was forced to eat out daily, which made this trip far more expensive than planned.This trip was meant to be time with my oldest son, teaching him home-cooked recipes. Instead, I spent extra on cleaning supplies and meals just to make the space livable.Both units have potential, but they require a deep clean, new linens, and maintenance before being listed. It is unacceptable that Vrbo allows properties in this condition to be rented.

Needs improvement

This was advertised as a new listing, so there were no reviews. The place was clean with lots of upgrades like new appliances. Our reservation was for 5 nights but we left after 2. There was a pest problem, there were bees nesting in the wall and we heard some kind of rodent in the ceiling, scratching and chewing. Gus, the host was very responsive, he saved the day and got us relocated!

Avoid at all costs

First of all let me say that we arrived at the unit about 30 minutes after check-in. It was still being cleaned. We went into the unit and did not like what we saw. We left and never stayed at the unit. I wish I could post pictures of the dirty furniture, the ridiculous curtains that were on the patio door (vertical blinds were in the photos), the broken microwave handle and more. Neither VRBO nor us could reach the manager for help. Called a couple of times and left messages on VRBO to no avail. Overall, we didn't feel safe, the beds appeared to be uncomfortable and the LR furniture dirty. So I lost my payment but found much better accommodations for the week.

Dark & Depressing

The pictures on the VRBO web site make this property look good; but it is just the opposite. The ceilings are low and the rooms are dark. The furnishing were worn and it was hard to tell if it was clean because it was so dingy. It felt like a basement. The neighborhood is a bit run down, and there were garbage cans in front nearly blocking the driveway. The entry way had an unmarked step which is very hard to see in the evening. We nearly fell. Opening the front door was confusing. It was by code, but it looked like it needed a key and there were no instructions about where to enter the code. Had to call owner for instructions. Once inside we saw the property was unacceptable so we called the owner who said he would get back to us. He has never called or contacted us even after multiple messages. We had to find a different place to stay believing the owner would give us at least a partial refund since we did not disturb anything. We called VRBO, but they said they could not do anything without proof that the location was bad. Unfortunately, we did not take pictures because we thought the owner would work with us. Again, we were wrong. Definitely would not recommend this property. We have used VRBO in the past with some success, but this is the second time we have found a property not of good quality. Both times VRBO has not been helpful. They should do a better job ensuring the properties are as shown on their web site.

Quiet and Comfortable

We spent just one night at Gus' place on our way back home from the Keys. We arrived at 7pm and left next morning. The cottage is fairly spacious, the beds are comfortable, good A/C system, and it was quiet. We had a good night of sleep, which is just what we needed after a couple not so quiet nights in Key West. We didn't have the chance to check the area or try the recommended restaurants ... another time maybe.
