The DORDOGNE, it is the old province of Périgord It benefits due to its location, of a particularly moderated climate, which makes it a region pleasant to live all year round. In the borders of the oceanic, continental zones and the mountain dwellers, it expresses its diversity. It is this diversity quite in nuances that is evoked through four colors of Périgord, four countries which make it only one. BLACK PÉRIGORD In the southeast part of the department, Black Périgord opens on the International Pole of the Prehistory of the valley of Vézère and on the valley of the Dordogne. The valley of Vézère receives some of the richest sites of the European Prehistory (palaeolithic sites, caves and natural shelters).
