The modern and freshly and permanently renovated apartment Polarstern is located in the pedestrian zone in Borkum, in the immediate vicinity of the daily contact points for everyday needs.
The supermarket is right next door, various catering establishments for all tastes are only a 1 to 4-minute walk away, a bike rental is 200 meters around the corner and the beaches are within easy walking distance.

The apartment was freshly renovated in 2015. Enjoy the airy feeling of space through the open beam statics. The view now reaches the roof ridge and creates a cozy atmosphere. The thermal insulation was carried out according to current standards, so that there is a pleasant indoor climate, both in summer and in winter.
The new and modern brand kitchen leaves nothing to be desired with a dishwasher, stove with ceramic hob, kettle, extractor hood and a refrigerator with an ice compartment.

A highlight is the indirect LED lighting in the roof ridge, which ensures pleasant lighting. A highlight of the special kind is the blue LED lighting in the kitchen area, which creates an unusual atmosphere. Especially when darkness falls, the interior transforms into a "club atmosphere", where you can relax with your partner, friends or family.

Leave the 32-inch television with DVD player switched off and indulge in good music on the hi-fi system. This consists of a Yamaha amplifier with tuner and Canton or Visaton speakers for the living area and for the bathroom. Using a jack cable, you can connect your own ipod or mp3 player to the system.

The floor is consistently equipped with new, pleasant wooden planks. The bedroom offers a 1.60 m wide double bed with a large wardrobe. You will find additional storage space on the gallery, which can be easily reached via the ladder. The bathroom is equipped with many storage options and also offers space for a washing machine. A clothes horse is also available. All rooms offer a beautiful beam look on the ceiling, some with a deliberate contrast between "old" and "new".

The spacious balcony terrace with a new wooden floor facing away from the pedestrian zone offers the necessary vacation rest. Due to the east orientation, you can enjoy the morning sun. During the day you always have sun, all the way until sunset under the roofs of Borkum. As darkness falls, you clearly follow the three pairs of rays of the New Borkum Lighthouse. You can even admire the light-emitting dome of the lighthouse directly from the balcony - an unusual experience!

Update February 2016:
The spacious balcony (10 sqm) is now equipped with a beautiful and pleasant wooden floor with decking. The lighthouse beams can now be enjoyed even better with a nice glass of wine!

Update May 2016:
Two brand new Dutch bikes can be conveniently rented. A cool men's transport bike and a Batavus women's city bike are available.

Update March 2018:
The floor was completely laid with new, solid and visually great wooden floorboards. These give the asterisk a whole new fresh shine and also provide an even more maritime flair. In addition, wood is a natural product and feels even more pleasant on the feet.
The asterisk has also been given a new sofa. This now offers a recarmiere, so that you can put your feet up even after a hard visit to the beach.
