Marina is a functioning business with a small, quiet bar/bistro beneath. Peaceful weeknights/days and higher energy weekend evenings. Closes at 8p. We work very hard to make sure your stay is comfortable and that your lodging is clean.

My Family and I really enjoyed our stay here at Hurricane Joe’s. The location was great with being able to dock our boats right there, the docks were very nice. The place was very spacious and beds were super comfy. The place was peaceful and had everything we needed and the view was perfect over looking the marina…The tiki bar was so nice and the little shop had ice and snacks etc. I can’t wait for the little Bistro to open. Whitney and her husband Joe are doing a fantastic job bringing the place back to life. We wish them all the best with their continued hard work and we are hoping to come and stay again soon.

weekend get away

The area was beautiful. We enjoyed the quiet nights and being on the water. The living area was big and gave us room. There were some maintenances, that needed to be done that one shower wasn't working and wasn't told to us. There were light bulbs out, no covers on the electrical outlets, doors that won't close and the garbage disposal didn't work. Little things that would help with the look of the place. We did enjoy our stay, everyone was wonderful.

Everything was as described Place has plenty of room and great views of the bay. The owner ( Whitney ) is very personable and more than accommodating We enjoyed our time spent in Blind Bay at her place. Thank You !

Awesome place

I really did not know what to expect renting this, but I have to stay it was the perfect spot. The apartment was clean, airy and extremely comfortable. The marina is small, quiet and efficient. The bar was small, but it brought a smile to our faces seeing and hearing small gatherings laughing and having a good time. Whitney is a great host and always working hard to keep the place maintained. We will definitely be back!

Terrific Location

This place gave us everything we needed. Ample space for three adults. A perfect place to dock our fishing boat during the stay, literally steps from the door. Whitney was absolutely fantastic with everything and was always close by if we needed anything. The place was super clean and well maintained. They are putting a great amount of work into the entire property and it shows! I am almost positive that we will return here soon.

This place is ideal for fishermen

Whitney is a great host! This apartment is much bigger than the pictures make it appear. The kitchen is awesome, the marina docks are well maintained and there’s power at each one with a regular 110 volt outlet, no need for an adapter. The beds are wonderful and the ceiling fans really cool the bedrooms well. I am already making plans to return next year! Thank you, for everything, Whitney!

Disappointed

Not sure where to start. Great fishing area. Been staying on the St. Lawrence River fishing for over 40 years. This place has great potential but the listing is very deceptive. Both bathrooms not working and was told to use the bathroom at the marina. Only one shower worked. And that shower had a toilet right inside the shower. Never seen anything like it. You could literally take a dump while you're taking a shower. Also, the 20 step climb on dangerous staircase is something to consider if you want to rent this place. No joke. Especially with the bathrooms out of order. Need to climb stairs to use the marina bathroom.

The place was great! Location is was excellent, great sunrises and sunsets. Yes there's a marina bar downstairs, no it wasn't a problem, it was closed up by 8:30 each night and it was never rowdy. Whitney is a great host! There are definitely somethings that need a little work, but it wasn't a problem. One of the showers was out while we were there, but the other worked fine. Yes, the layout of the one shower is a little odd, but it works fine. It was very clean, there was no issues with odors. The air conditioning is a window unit, but was adequate - we were there the 2nd weekend in August, and it was the hottest weekend of the year, we were fine with it. It kept the living room cool during the day, and you open the windows and sliding glass doors at night. Yes, you have to climb stairs, but that's in the listing. The internet can be a little flaky (you're in a fairly remote place), but it worked well enough and we streamed movies in the evening no problem. I think some people have unrealistic expectations - this was a great visit and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. MUCH better than staying in even an upscale hotel.

The apartment was pretty nice and spacious and the marina is a very relaxing environment. Whitney was a pleasant host but very busy and not really responsive except for the fact that she was sometimes working in a neighboring cabin and we approached her. The kitchen was okay but not the best equipped and our dishwasher was not working. They had two very nice new queen mattresses and we slept well. There was only one AC unit and it was in the living room. Wifi was downright horrendous and I often got better connectivity by using my phone as a hotspot. Cellular signal was weak but at least it was stable. The TV had no issues with A/V so I don't know how they were streaming. We never got the right key for the door and never could lock up when we left. Whitney said she looked for it but she never found it. I do think there are some things that should be focused on safety-wise. One duplex outlet in the living room has no face plate on it and a child could easily be electrocuted. Also, two windows in our bedroom did not have counterbalances and needed to be propped up. Very nasty if it fell onto your or a child's arm/hand. Those are easy to fix. A few changes could easily rate a much higher rating.

So….where to start. The day of check in we were informed that a shower was leaking and couldn’t be repaired in time so it was turned off as well as the dishwasher. Then about an hour later, another message stating that they couldn’t locate the keys from the previous tenant so they left the door unlocked for us. Upon arrival, first red flag was a missing deadbolt with bundled up paper towels in place of the lock(we were traveling with two young children). The “Air conditioning” was a window unit with gaping holes around it. Both bedroom windows were propped open with cardboard because the windows were broken. There were two quad receptacles without covers(again traveling with young children). The functional shower literally had a toilet in the shower, I’ve traveled the country numerous times over and have never seen anything like this. The screened in porch smelled as though folks had cleaned fish in it and kept the doors closed. There was a laundry basket in the “kids” room with dirty clothes to include a shower robe, the master didn’t have the additional bed as advertised. We booked the place because it looked cool and had great reviews, however I failed to look at the dates of the reviews and after we booked I failed to look at more reviews. We only spent 15 minutes in the place and left, didn’t even try to endure. We reached out to the owner for a refund, came to an agreement and she did not honor it. Find somewhere else unless it’s a group of fishing buddies.

Perfect for our needs

First off, the owners are wonderful people. Very helpful and friendly. It's apparent how enthusiastic they are about their river life! Our friends stopped over and now we have competition to rent again next year. Oops. We slept well in the queen bed. The a/c and fans were adequate (it was hot weather) and this is an upstairs space. The outside deck was great for morning coffee overlooking some reeds, jumping fish and osprey. Bring drinking water and ice. The stairs into the space may be a challenge for some folks. We cooked simple meals and if you want to get fancy, bring that specific cookware and stemware. Overall we're thrilled to find this place and would recommend for the autumn season as well so the outdoor space can be enjoyed while it's not so very hot.

Great Find and Not Far from Canada!

Great Find for friends or family! Apartment is above a marina with a tiki bar below and a small store. Lawrence and Whitney are wonderful and not far away if you need anything! Singer Castle, Cedar Point State Park and Canada are not far while boating on the St. Lawrence. Fishing, tubing, skiing and relaxation were had while we visited this vacation spot!

Comfortable and clean

The Host was outstanding and was always available. We had no problems with the rooms or docking. The sitting areas have a nice view. We had no complaints.
