Welcome TO Venice original is an updated turn of the Century (1905) craftsman duplex. Owned by a Venice beach family for 60 years. Now the 2nd generation is management and has recently freshened it up. The Artistic details with antique house put you in the Venice Original vibes.
We prefer adults over 25 that are respectful and not here to party or drink excessively. We prefer children over 12. No pets or babies please.

This perfect location on first block from the sand & famous boardwalk is one of the nicest walk streets in Venice. Large old trees and a few original people from way back. This memorable home is close to everything: The wide white sand beaches of Venice, and the boardwalk, Dudley Marketplace, skatepark, main street & Abott Kinney restaurants also close. Also close is Golds gym just a block away & muscle beach, water sports (surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding,) pilates and yoga. Biking Santa Monica mall, Main street shopping, Abbot Kinney , Venice Canals,Venice Pavilion,(basketball, volley, paddle tennis, tennis new skate park (bring your board (we have helmets), gymnastic equipment SM&Venice) cal artists. Public golf course 1/2 mile east.
Bike, boogie boards, skim board, balls, sand toys, cart, chairs, Umbrella, wagon to carry them etc. Four possible work spaces.
Remodeled with all of the luxury modern conveniences: Bikes (5), boogie boards (8); new kitchen appliances, including dishwasher, stove, microwave, and coffee maker. Two Queen beds. Linens, towels provided. High-speed WiFi Internet for MAC and PC; Flat screen TV w/cable channels, Pod dock w/ speaker. A backyard w/ w BBQ, table and benches basketball,volleyball,and football,socker, sand toys. 1 Parking space

Beautiful property, so close to the beach & boardwalk. Very convenient location. Host was wonderful, even provided fresh flowers for our stay! Check in couldn’t have been easier! The communication was very good throughout our stay. The home is located near the beach with easy access. The neighborhood was quiet at night. It is a comfortable house, and well stocked for our daily needs. My 17 year old son and I spent 8 nights here, we enjoyed it a lot. We would definitely recommend this place.

Great location right by the beach with parking. The place is a tad smaller than I thought it would be based on the pictures but was still plenty of space for 4 of us. Nice outside area too

Wonderful stay

Joanne was a wonderful host! She was attentive and went out of her way to make us feel at home. Cozy, clean space with everything we needed for our family trip. Would definitely stay again! Loved being so close to Venice Beach, walking to Santa Monica shopping and pier, and many great restaurants!

Spent a wonderful 8 days at this cozy apartment just a 3 minute walk to the beach. Thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed including bikes. We will be back!

Adorable beachside getaway

This space is as described and as pictured. The interior is 1920s craftsman with all sorts of amazing details like the kids room with the vintage desk and stain glass window. My kids absolutely loved it! Everything works, but the laundry, although Joseph, who is very accommodating was at the site and able to take my laundry and fold it and return it for me whenever I asked. Definitely will be staying here again as it is right on the beach and right next to a lot of amazing shops and restaurants.

Joanne and Joseph are amazing hosts! We will definitely be returning.

Property is located in an amazing location about a block from historic than a speech. Shops and restaurants within walking distance. The host provides everything you could possibly need while you’re staying there, and even dropped off sticky buns and flowers to brighten our stay. We will definitely be back!

Great spot! Great people!

The property owner doesn’t miss a single thing! Having everything a beachside rental should have, and all in good condition, makes the day fun. A gorgeous walk street and a perfect parking spot in the back. Two blocks to the beach and boardwalk, two-three blocks to just about everywhere. The rental is charming and 100% recommended.

Charming older property in great location in Venice,CA

We were warmly welcomed by our host Joanne to this charming older property. Included is a well equipped kitchen (spices, and other necessities and a basket of fresh fruit!). The location is great! It is an easy bike ride on the bike path to Santa Monica pier, the Marina and short walk to restaurants and shops. Also near by is the Santa Monica farmers market. The property also includes bikes and beach chairs.

Wonderful location

We stayed for almost two weeks, and had a wonderful time. My daughter was working at UCLA during the day, and every site she needed to be at was a short drive. I was without a car while she worked, but I loved walking the beach and Santa Monica. There were a lot of lovely stores, museums and restaurants in walking distance. The proximity to the beach was prime. Thanks for a lovely stay Joanne!

Fantastic place to stay in Venice!

We had such a wonderful 2 weeks staying in Joanne's property. It is ideally located a few steps to the beach and central to everything in Venice. The property was very clean, so well equipped with everything you could possibly need.... It was comfortable and cosy. An ideal location from which to explore Venice, Santa Monica and LA. Kitchen has everything you could need to self cater, nice hot shower, comfortable beds, heating for the cooler months. Wifi worked well and the kids appreciated having both Netflix and Roku on the TV! Joanne couldn't have been more welcoming and offered all her support, thank you for our stay, we highly recommend it!

Attached to main house

I suppose it was my rush in looking for a place, but I neglected to note the last line of the property description: duplex. The rental is not a casita but attached to the main house and subject to the drum of footsteps overhead. The location so close to the beach was exceptional. Owner might want to reconsider the mattresses in the bunk room. A little like Goldilocks, one is too hard and the other too soft. Also, owner does not communicate via the app, encourages one to text her or her son’s phone.

Great location to explore a variety of activities!

The property is exactly as described in the listing. The location is good and having a parking space included is priceless in this area! We had everything we needed during our stay and we enjoyed using the bikes that were provided by the host. Also provided were boogie boards and all of the beach supplies that you need as well as a grill (which we did use and it worked great). The place is cozy, including the outdoor space. It's all super quaint, but is sometimes a tight squeeze for two adults and two adult-sized teenagers, but we made it work. Our only small complaint is the outdoor noise (esp. in the front bedroom) when trying to sleep. We had a couple of nights of loud yelling right outside the property that kept us awake, plus traffic noise is present. No fault of the property owner, of course. Joanne is a great host. Very kind and communicative. The location is great, overall. We drove all over LA to do a variety of activities and Venice was a great home base!

Well equipped, perfect location

Family, with two adults and children 12 And 14 years old: We were welcomed by Joanne and her son, who gave us useful tips about the apartment and the area. Ice cream in the freeze for the kids upon arrival, which the kids loved. The apartment has a private backyard, with a BBQ (didn’t use it), 4 bikes, 4-5 bodyboards, 4 brand new Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 2 beach umbrellas and a trolly to use to the beach. A short stroll to the beach and restaurants. Inside there were 3 large and comfortable beds: 1 large queen and a bunk bed (2 queens). They have recently installed a air conditioner. Due to the heat wave this was very appreciated. Like other AC, this didn’t have to run constantly. It was very effective, and the nice sea breeze also helped to keep the temperature at a comfortable level. The kitchen was well equipped and have everything we needed and more. Small dishwasher in the kitchen and a washer and a dryer Outside. Parking space right outside was also big plus. Keyless locks both to the yard and to The front door was convenient. We loved every about our our stay, And after almost 4 months of traveling, this is without a doubt our favorite place to stay! Thank you so much, Joanne!

Perfect location and lovely amenities.

We had a lovely stay with the nicest host. The House is full of charm due to the Old age. It is in no way modern or upscale, but has the charm is a house from 1905. We preferred to clean a little when we arrived. It has a perfect location right by the Venice Boardwalk and Joanne is doing everything in her capacity to help and assist. Joanne even brought a huge Winnie the Pooh teddy for me daughter when she hurt her foot badly on the buggy board. There are lovely amenities in the house and we rode bikes a lot, and used the buggy boards. We never felt unsafe in the neighborhood though it can be a little rowdy - as the rest of Venice. Absolutely lovely cafes and restaurants nearby. Thank You Joanne for everything. We had a lovely time!

A lovely home

Our stay was lovely. We were a bit cramped with four adults (our choice, as a way to save money!), but it was so nice to have a home to return to at the end of the day. The location of Joanne's place is excellent, only a short walk to the beach and to many coffee shops. I would definitely stay again.

Very nice little beach rental half a block from Venice beach.

Nice private property with reserved parking and private entrance. All necessary immunities including bikes and beach necessities. Shower is a highlight of this property and very nice. Rental unit is a Single floor conversion of a multi level historic home. Master bedroom is open concept off main living space and open with large windows. Walking distance to beach restaurants and shops.
