Relax in our comfortable, bright, cheerful, functional home after a full day of shopping, sightseeing or working in Northern VA in the Washington DC area. Get away within 15 minutes to our quiet, green neighborhood. You will be in our walk-out basement which consists of 2 bedrooms, a full bath, a large living room, a kitchenette with a full fridge and laundry, and a screened porch. Choose from dozens of books and read in our back yard. Plug in your laptop into our wireless network and surf the net at super-fast speed. Flip through hundreds of channels on TV. For cooking, help yourself to our spices and get what you need from 2 major supermarkets that are 5 minutes away. To discover the area, drive to Metro (5 min) or to DC (15 min). Shop at Tysons Corner (15 min), or walk the trails in the Great Falls National Park (15 min)

Great location for sightseeing.

We loved the house. The layout was perfect. It was very clean and well stocked. It was easy to get to and to navigate from. The back deck is beautiful. We enjoyed being so close to the grocery and the metro. Check in and check out couldn't have been any easier. If we ever come back, we will definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and Convenient

Our family of 5 stayed five nights in this home during a sight-seeing trip to DC. The owner was a kind and gracious host, helpful in getting us settled and giving us advice throughout the week. We felt at home right away. Located in a quiet neighborhood, the home felt like a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city and was a good hub from which to explore things in DC and surrounding areas. The home was clean and tidy and had all the basic necessities. Aside from the usual DC attractions, we and our teen and younger boys enjoyed the Adventure Park at Sandy Springs and Great Falls Park, as well as great dinners at Lost Dog Cafe and Founding Farmers.

Overall very good with some minor comments

Overall we enjoyed the property and it is almost as described. There are a couple of minor issues that Najla may want to improve or future renters may want to consider. Pros: a very quiet neighborhood, 20 minutes by car to Washington Downtown. Apartment is pretty big, bigger than we expected based on the photos. It was very clean, nicely painted and decorated, towels and linen provided. High-speed internet was available for us to use. Minor issues: we were not allowed to use the back door to exit the basement and had to go through the house. It was ok, though when you rent a walk-out basement you expect to be separate from the owner's part of the house. Another issue we had was with the kitchen equipment and utensils. Unfortunately, there was only one big pot that could be used with the induction one-place stove, so we had to cook either everything in one pot, or one thing after another with washing the pot in between. Also we wish there was at least one more knife (the only one provided was very dull) and some more useful kitchen utensils (a can opener, etc.) - but this is very minor and can be definitely easily improved. Of course, we could go upstairs and ask Najla for more knives, but I am sure this part can be easily improved :) Otherwise, we do recommend this property and will consider it again if/when planning another trip to Washington DC.

Cozy basement apartment in McLean

Our family of six had a very nice stay in this comfortable basement apartment. The space is very kid-friendly and the owner could not have been nicer. She was very accommodating and helpful. The location is perfect - close to downtown by car, 5 mins from West Falls Church metro station, close to grocery store and restaurants, close to Great Falls National Park, but still tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We had a very nice stay and would recommend for anyone (especially those with children). Very pleased with our experience!

Comfortable at a great price

This apartment was very nice. The mattresses were firm and comfortable. Everything was clean and in good condition. For this area the price was very reasonable. The neighborhood is very quiet and close to Tysons Corner and DC. I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely home, great location

We loved staying here! The host is really nice and welcoming; the house is lovely and well organized; the location is a 25 min car ride to DC. The supermarket is 5 min away. Great stay! We really got to enjoying the feeling of home away from home.

Wonderful place

Very nice and clean space. Lots of room for 4 people. Nice garden. Close to Downtown and Metro. The host was friendly. We really enjoyed our time there. We would definitely come again.

Najla was a wonderful hostess. We had everything we needed and were quite comfortable.

We opted to rent a car and drive into DC but the McLean metro stop is about 5 minutes away. Grocery stores were about 5 min. We felt very safe in the neighborhood. We did have rush hour traffic if we left before 10am and headed home when things closed about 5:30pm--that's just DC. As far as the unit itself, things were a little crowded for 9 people but we knew that before we rented and were just sleeping there so it was fine, probably suited best for 4-6 people. Thank you Najla! :)

Our family of 5 enjoyed this VRBO in McLean. Najla was great and gave us good recommendations on where to eat and where things were. We just spent a short weekend here, but would recommend it and would come back next time we're in the area.

Warm and Inviting, a home away from home!

Najla was a great host and ever so concerned about our needs and ensuring our comfort. She made us feel relaxed and was great about providing the "just right" feel to our stay. Great rental property!

Fantastic

This home was awesome. We were their for DC sightseeing. Three right hand turns and 15 mins you are in front of the White House.Home was very comfortable and was ready for guests. Nice quiet neighborhood. Can't say enough. If you are headed to this area, rent this property. The owner stayed in touch all the way. Can't wait to go back and stay there again.

Family trip

This house was excellent for our family trip to DC. It was nicely furnished and equipped with everything needed. This house was fantastic for my teenage children to be able to spread out and relax. It was just a 15 minute drive into DC or 5 minutes from the metro. Very convenient to everything. The owner was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this house for anyone who is visiting the DC area and will definitely stay here again on future trips to the area.

We loved the house. It was close to everything around DC. It was just 15 minutes into DC or 5 minutes from the metro station. The house was nicely furnished and accommodated my teenage children great. The owner was fabulous and very attentive to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this property and will stay here again on future trips to this area.
