Everything was perfect! We enjoyed a week of rest and relaxation. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and scooting down the driveway on their scooters. We will be back.

This trip was for my husband’s birthday, and unfortunately the stay was very disappointing from start to finish. We never received check-in information and had to call to access the property, which should have been our first clue about the management.The biggest issue was a septic backup into the sinks and toilets during our stay, which significantly disrupted our weekend. There were also live and dead cockroaches throughout the home, including dead bugs in one of the beds. When we attempted to use the jet tub (indoors) cockroaches crawled out from underneath it.The sofa bed advertised as sleeping accommodations for two was completely unusable — broken, misshapen, and actively shedding deteriorating material everywhere. The hot tub was dirty and also missing a jet cover, resulting in bruising/injury to my son.Additional issues included a strong electrical/burning smell inside the home, overgrown grass, insufficient linens and kitchen supplies for the advertised occupancy, and no usable internet despite Wi-Fi being listed as an amenity.We requested a reasonable partial refund due to the sanitation, maintenance, and safety concerns but received no response from the host/property management.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay. We are truly sorry to hear that your husband’s birthday trip did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that the only issues reported to our staff during your stay were the missing hot tub filter cover and the septic tank alarm. After inspection, the septic company advised that the issue was caused by wipes being flushed, which led to the system backup. Had we been notified of any additional concerns during your stay, including cleanliness, pests, furnishings, internet connectivity, or maintenance items, we would have promptly sent staff to address them. Regarding the check-in information, our system sends those emails automatically prior to arrival. In some cases, these emails may be filtered into junk or spam folders. We do apologize for the inconvenience you experienced accessing the property, and we were happy to assist when contacted. We also want to note that each time you reached out to us, we responded as quickly as possible to assist, and we did provide a refund in response to the concerns reported during your stay. We sincerely regret that your experience was disappointing and appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving for future guests.

Polar Express

We had a great weekend at the Bruins Den. It was a perfect spot for our family and our kids! Close to downtown Bryson City which was perfect for us! We would definitely stay there again.

Amazing house

Exactly what we dreamed of!

We had a fantastic early family Christmas vacation. The cabin was beautiful and the view was amazing! We all enjoyed every aspect of our stay!! Would definitely recommend and book another trip to Bruins Den!

Overall it is a great place but needs a little tlc. Location is not good for older people if they are not about to walk up hill.

Refreshing getaway

We were very pleased with the property and especially enjoyed the privacy for our children and dogs. We were very comfortable and would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a refreshing mountain escape.

Polar Express Trip

We brought our 4 children ages ranging from 4 to 22. The older ones brought their significant others. We all enjoyed the cabin very much. Was very roomy and suited us all. It was decorated so nicely. Would definitely stay at this cabin again!

Loved the house

The house met our expectations. Good location, cleanliness, and assistance from property manager. The only negative was the master bathroom. It had a jet tub with a hand held shower. It was a little difficult to use because I had a fractured back and it was difficult for me to get in and out of the tall tub. For a younger person it might have been much easier. But overall, I would give it an excellent rating.

Amazing stay

I've been renting from GSCR for a dozen years, and they are awesome. Our rental had to be changed last minute due to an issue with the house I had booked. The replacement was an awesome house that was very clean, functional, and well provisioned for cooking and bathing. As always, the directions, house instructions, area information, and customer service were top quality! I will definitely continue using and recommending them!!

Short vacation trip

We were very pleased with this rental. Kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils, appliances, dishes. Loved rocking chairs and swing on the front deck. Didn’t use the firepit but wood was supplied. Only complaint was the bed/mattress was in 2nd downstairs bedroom creaked every time you turned or got up. Overall a nice few days!

Nice house

We were a party of 8. We brought a single air mattress to make the sleeping arrangement work. The location was nice for Deep Creek, Bryson City, and Nantahala. The pictures of the place are all spot-on. One of the bathrooms only has a tub, so there are only 2 showers. The two single beds are in the open loft, so if you put little ones there it is quite time for the rest of the house. I definitely recommend the place.

Home for everyone

This home is for everyone, the view can't be imagined. It has so many bedrooms and bathrooms, and space we loved. Half wrap around porch with rocking chairs, swing, picnic table, hot tub. It truly is a wonderful place, as for the inside cleanliness, spotless. The cleaning crew does an amazing job. As for the outside, the owners need to have a cleaning crew come out and get the dead bugs off the porch and get rid of some of the many spider webs. But, all in all this place truly is amazing. We would love to come back in the future.

Spacious House in Great Location in Bryson City

This house was so conveniently located to Ingles, Darnell Farms and downtown Bryson City - it was great. The house was well-equipped for my family and I.

This cabin is awesome. The views are amazing. Having the hot tub to relax in after a day of exploring the area was a huge plus. Everything you would need to be comfortable is in the cabin. Very homey. My only complaint would be the driveway. It’s extremely steep. You definitely need a 4x4 to get up it. That being said, we would definitely come here again if we were in the area.
