The Carriage House is a unique and private one bedroom loft located in a prime residential neighborhood. The Carriage House is located in the rear of a historic Buffalo home. Vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, and unique original details throughout the space. The Carriage House is quiet, spacious and in the perfect location.
It's just steps from Delaware Park and Buffalo zoo, 15-minutes to the airport, walkable to restaurants, shops, and bars.

West Side wandering

The apartment was perfect for the two of us. Amenities were good. The neughborhood was lovely and quiet. Stores, banks, restaurants within a pleasant walk. Hope to check in again.

Excellent location Friendly hosts

If you want to visit revitalized Buffalo this is a great spot to do it. Close to lots of city life, museums, history and Delaware Park. I appreciate the flexibility and friendliness of our hosts.

Excellent, quiet place to stay!

The carriage house was well decorated and felt like home. Claudia and Paul were super helpful and responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

Really cool spot!

The carriage house was awesome. Very cosy and close Elmwood village which is an awesome location with great bars and restaurants. Claudia and Brian were great hosts and really attentive to us when we needed anything would definitely stay again.

Great carriage house

The carriage house was a great place for my family and I to spend our trip to Buffalo. The property is located close to the heart of the city and it was really easy to get to the attractions we wanted to visit. The house itself was neat and clean and fit our needs well. Claudia was welcoming and very responsive to messages. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Spacious apartment with perfect location

I stayed for two weeks. It was a quiet, peaceful place. Yes, the staircase is steep, but as a 75-year-old, I had no difficulties. Lovely residential neighborhood near the lively Elmwood neighborhood. Lots of great restaurants.

Super comfortable!!

We were so comfortable in the carriage house. The beds were cozy and it was very quiet. We could walk to a different restaurant every night! The historic structure has very steep stairs going up to the living space which were not a problem for us, but would have been if my elderly parents had been there. Definitely recommend this

Cute pet friendly carriage house & friendly hosts

We enjoyed the stay here and felt it was a great space for our needs. Being pet friendly was a huge deal for us traveling with our pet. The hosts were friendly and communicative. The place was clean. I did notice some appliances said out of service in the unit, for us that was no issue, but may be a consideration for another traveler! All in all a great space !

Just what we needed!

Claudia's carriage house was the perfect place to stay for our family. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We have a 9 month old and it was nice to spread out a bit and be able to comfortably set up the pack n' play. We were in and out a lot and it was nice to have a home base. Would recommend.

I can’t exactly comment on the above listing bc when I arrived, the cute unit advertised was already occupied, even though it was the one I booked and paid for. The neighborhood was great and the location perfect, but I didn’t find the unit I got to be very comfortable, even though it was huge with 3 stories of vertical space. I don’t do well with surprises! The unit I got was old with a lot character, but maybe not the best place when staying solo for a writing trip and it had a lot of deferred maintenance. Just make sure you are getting the unit you see in the pictures!

lovely neighborhood

It is a very quiet and private loft above garage. access to the unit is by a narrow staircase, so anyone with mobility issues probably wouldn't want to try this one. My associate and I stayed here while working in downtown Buffalo. lovely neighborhood with very well kept historic homes. The hosts were wonderful at communication. The property is very basic but has everything you would need. Fully stocked kitchen and open dining and living room which made a nice work space when I wasn't physically at work.. conveniently located 1.7 miles from downtown, easy drive or lovely walk, which is just far enough away to feel worlds away on a day off, but easy access to everything.

Smelled like skunk

The property is not a carriage house. It is above a garage. It was spacious and well located. However upon check in it smelled like skunk. We had just driven 12 hours and had to be somewhere so we showed and left. Upon return the smell was so overwhelming we had to leave and check into a hotel. We were only partially refunded our money. Be cautious.

Great location, barebones

Overall, our stay was plenty decent. The location was fantastic, offering peace and convenience. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. However, while reflected in the price, there were noticeable drawbacks. The shower was pretty bad, and the use of inexpensive materials like toilet paper and pillows made things a little uncomfortable. Additionally, the interior was pretty beat up, but it is dog friendly so with that in mind it didn't bother us. As others noted, the stairs are weird. Especially the first few. Don't carry too much while going up or down. You may lose your balance. But hey, you get what you pay for. Despite the few issues mentioned, we still had a fine stay here. We'd certainly consider returning in the future, but we'd bring our own toilet paper and pillows next time.

Great location, but…..

The stairway in to the “carriage house” is steep, crooked and with small worn treads. Children and any one older would have a hard climb. (Definitely not code)The beds are comfy. The living area is OK. Two window air conditioners keep the place cool, but are noisy. The kitchen and bathroom are tragic. There was an overwhelming smell of a floral spray when we first got there. As the week wore on I noticed a different smell on and off, cat or skunk? This is a pet friendly rental, which we need more of. We did not end up taking our dogs and did not get a refund😳. This could be a super rental, but it needs work.

Perfect location in the Buffalo Elmwood Area

This place is a little slice of heaven just around the corner of all the fun happening in the village of Elmwood. Easy to find and an easy to check-in process. The downfall is there are some super steep steps, (I mean like straight up, definitely not to code) so those with knee or hip issues may want to by-pass this location. Parking was also an issue as we thought we would be parking in the driveway as the listing says, however when we received our check-in instructions and we were told to park on the street. We arrived after 9:30 pm and without knowing the street parking rules or being told to pay attention to them we received a parking ticket the first morning there. Not a great way to start vacation. Another downfall was we we arrived late and the place was miserably HOT, not the owners fault as it was the one weekend Buffalo had a HEAT wave, just wish the owners had thought to put on the window AC units around 3 pm (check-in time and not wait until 9 pm (when we were expected to arrive); would have made our first night's stay much more pleasant. All in all the place was sufficient, we were able to have our dog with us and we enjoyed the location.
