Shaker Bear guest house, nestled next to a private golf course, showcases charming post and beam construction. Situated in the heart of the Dartmouth Sunapee Lakes region, it provides easy access to Pleasant Lake, Lake Sunapee, and Little Lake Sunapee, offering abundant opportunities for swimming, hiking, and skiing. Proctor Academy, Colby Sawyer and Dartmouth College are only minutes away by car. The Country Club of NH (public course) is just 3 miles from our location. This course is ranked #2, as a classic course, in Golfweekā€™s annual list of public golf courses.

Inside the residence, you'll find two bedrooms ā€“ one featuring a queen bed and two twins, and the other with a king bed. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a shower/bath combo. The spacious family room is adorned with a gas fireplace, and the fully equipped kitchen ensures all your culinary needs are met. Stackable washer/dryer is available in downstairs bathroom. Keep cool on warm summer days with the provided air conditioning.

Take in the breathtaking views from the rear deck while lounging in Adirondack chairs shaded by a generous umbrella. For added relaxation, unwind in the screened porch, offering both captivating views and a comfortable retreat. The vacation home is conveniently located near private runway NH40-Eagles Nest airport. The town of New London boasts of all of the charm you would expect to see in a quaint New England college town. You will find numerous shops and restaurants, and the barn playhouse (summers only). The Shaker Bear Guest House is part of a family compound.

We spent two nights at this beautiful ā€œcarriage houseā€ hard by the Lake Sunapee golf course. It was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and our hosts, Tom and Kem, did everything to make our visit carefree and enjoyable. We especially liked the screened in porch where we enjoyed a family supper as the light softened to the west. Beautiful. The place comfortably sleeps five in two bedrooms sharing a bath. The appliances were modern and well maintained. The great room is furnished, the leather recliner especially comfortable for reading or a nap. Colby the cat added to the ambience.

Home away from home

The property itself was beautiful! It had views of a beautiful garden and a golf course. The house was so bright and spacious and quite comfortable. The hosts were charming, friendly and so accommodatingā€¦ they truly made our visit quite memorable. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit New London

The entire property has this very soothing and comfortable vibe that makes you feel at ease The lawn and gardens are just BEAUTIFUL! We loved Bubbles and Stanley(the dogs). The interior was amazing wit unique decorations that also added to the welcoming atmosphere! Spotlessly clean, comfortable furniture. Best vacation ever!

Kem and Tom were amazing - right there to greet us and so helpful with anything we needed. Their place was beautiful- so well appointed - they left us treats, pulled out games for the kids snd told us about special events happening in town. They turned a short getaway into a real vacation. We were thrilled!

Another Wonderful Stay!

This is our second stay and it was even better than the last. We decided to stay longer this time because we enjoyed our first stay so much. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We had a lovely pitcher of fruit tea and snacks awaiting us upon arrival! Kem and Tom are so friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next stay!

Special cottage in New London!!

What a wonderful spot the Shaker Bear Cottage is!! We were in New London for a Colby Sawyer college reunion, and this was the most perfect place to stay. Our hosts Tom and Kem are wonderful, and their cottage is so lovelyā€”-spotless, well appointed with anything we would need (kitchen, bathrooms) and was tradition New England decor. We loved our visit!!!

House is extremely clean and in a great location. Back yard is awesome if you like to hangout outside and enjoy the outdoors with a fireplace. Owners are wonderful, super nice and very helpful. Overall enjoyed my stay and would absolutely stay there again.

Quiet family vacation

House was beautiful and had everything we needed. Hosts were amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. They always made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. They even set up the fire pit and grill for us. Located on a quiet road off the golf course where you can sit on their deck and enjoy the quiet and views.

Weekend girls trip

We had a great time staying here. The rental was BEAUTIFUL and very comfortable. I actually wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the property more! Communication with the hosts was always prompt, kind, and clear, and all the directions for parking and opening doors etc. were very clear. Would definitely stay here again!
