The property/amenities were just okay. Upon arrival we found the hot tub was dirty (lots of sand) and the sauna didn’t work. I contacted the host and she had the pool company come clean the hot tub. A day later an electrician came and looked at the sauna. I was sent a message by the host that the sauna needed parts and would not be working for our stay. I said I was disappointed and the response was “well the sauna is not a part of the amenities” ? Really? Then why list it? In addition one trash bag, one roll of paper towels, one roll of toilet paper (per bathroom) is insufficient for the cost of this property. What would it cost per stay to supply the guest with the above 20-30 bucks. I choose the property because it allowed a small dog. If given the chance again I would have picked another property.

Despite that it rained the ENTIRE week we were there, our family still had a great time because of all the amenities the home has to offer! The house is perfect for a family of all ages too. It provided just the right amount of privacy for my husband and I, and our adult children and spouses. We loved having coffee on the front porch and using the screened in porch during the evening. The kitchen is very large and has every possible utensils, pots and pans and such. They only provide one bath towel per person though, and you’ll need to provide body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Also stock up on toilet paper and paper towels as well. With that being said, I’d stay there again in a heartbeat! The host and here daughter were wonderful too! The battery in one of the fire alarms was running low, and they had a lovely gentleman come out right away to replace all the batteries. We have terrific memories staying there!

Our stay in Isle of Palms was enhanced by the outstanding amenities provided at this ‘Island Retreat’. We all enjoyed the pool, hot tub and short walk to the beach. The interior was spacious and convenient for all of our family members. The easy elevator access to each floor was greatly appreciated. We would recommend the ‘Retreat’ to family and friends and utilize again on any return visits.

The property was as advertised and very enjoyable for all especially the kitchen was well appointed and in the main the property manager visited to make sure all was well. There was one glaring exception -- which is why I gave it 4 and not 5 stars. The pool pump motor was off-scale loud -- so loud that they turned it off each night or the neighbors would complain (per the pool guy). We complained about it because we spent so much time each day and evening around the pool and it was just discussion stopping obnoxious. We were told that this is what pump motors sound like -- we have pools at home and know what pump motors are supposed to sound like -- this was way, way bad (if it was Ok, why did you have to turn it off at night to keep the neighbors from complaining). Anyway, even with this problem, the home was great, and we all enjoyed the vacation. But, just fix the motor. Thanks.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was spacious, beautifully decorated, and somehow even better than the pictures—plenty of room to spread out and relax.That said, for a property at this price point and with such a luxurious feel, a few small upgrades would go a long way. The cookware and barware could use a refresh, better pots and pans, some real serving bowls, and glassware that matches the upscale vibe of the home. Also, basic supplies like trash bags, paper towels, tissues, and shower gel should really be stocked. These small touches make a big difference in the guest experience, especially in a home of this caliber.Overall, a fantastic property with so much potential to be top-tier with just a few thoughtful improvements.

A Wonderful Week

We spent our family vacation at this wonderful house. Our group consisted of two seniors, four adults aged 40 - 42, and five children ages 5 - 10. We chose this house because it was perfect for my husband who has mobility issues. The house has an elevator, pool, and a Relax the Back chair which was important since he cannot sleep in a bed. It was also 2 blocks from the beach which made treks to the beach easy for others in the group. We really enjoyed the pool and yard and sitting on the front porch reading in the rockers. The house was well stocked and ideally laid out for our group. I had a shower stool sent to the house for my husband. Ann Louise was very responsive to all of our questions and requests. All in all, it was a great vacation, and we hope to come back again.

Great Getaway

This was an amazing week and the house is in a fabulous location and proximity to beach. Property manager was very responsive and it was nice to have an elevator. A couple of things, bathrooms on third floor are outside of the bedrooms so that was just a little bit a of a design or style that I didn’t expect. I also thought there would be a bathroom on the ground level to access easily from the pool. Those were things I missed and for the price wished I had. The parking is also one drive path with a sideways garage so difficult to access easily. This house has a lot of charm with a great front porch for rocking.

Great Location,Great property manager, the house had repairs done but they did not seem to be professionally done as we have stayed at other properties in Isle of Palms.Make sure pool pump has been replaced if you consider renting.

Wonderful Week

It was as advertised on the website. The house was inviting and comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with dishes, utensils, appliances and spices. Pool, hot tub and sauna were used daily and nice to have when little ones were napping/sleeping. I would recommend it highly for families with small children/grandchildren. The beach chairs and wagon were great to have for our time on the beach.

Family Vacation at IOP

This is a beautiful house on 23rd St. and my family of 11 enjoyed our stay very much. The house was clean and ready upon arrival and all bedrooms and living spaces were nice and well decorated. The outdoor spaces were gorgeous with a nice yard and a beautiful pool, plus under the deck we were able to play corn-hole while we were grilling. Unfortunately, we were at IOP during tropical storm, Debby, but the house enabled us to still have fun with grandkids and still take advantage of every break in the weather to be outside in the pool or walking on the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and Rita was so nice to check in on us multiple times as the tropical storm moved through. We hope to come back to this house again next year and have better weather.

Great Beach House!

We had an amazing time this past week in IOP! The house was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 5 kids. The backyard is HUGE- lots of space for our friend’s dog to run around and the pool was perfect as well. The house was clean and well maintained and was very comfortable for our group. The screened in sunroom was great for morning coffee. Fortunately, I didn’t need to contact the host much but Rita reached out to make sure everything was ok and to inform us of anything. She also had a great recommendation for golf cart rental that was very helpful! Would definitely stay here again!!

Family beach time

We had a great trip and it was especially nice that grandma could bring her dog. Since we were flying in from Colorado it was nice that there were beach towels and chairs.

We were born on this island and lived here for years with our three children (and several dogs). We now live south of Charleston and rely on our dear friend and SC native, Rita, to manage the house.

Convenient for beach lovers. Perfect for families and old friends. Pool and hot tub in your own backyard. Spacious deck and patio for sunset dinners. Great for kids - siblings and cousins can entertain each other in plenty of space indoors and outdoors.
Bringing your dogs? They'll love the fenced-in backyard. Make sure to take them to the beach during off-leash hours (April 1 - September 14: 4:00 pm to 10:00 am | September 15 - March 31: 5:00 am - 9:00 am)!
