Lovely village home on the majestic St Lawrence River. This home features 5BR/2BA, gorgeous moldings & woodwork throughout, modern kitchen, enclosed front porch and spacious decks for entertaining. Also includes a boat slip with protected dockage , main channel river views & sunsets. Walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. Please note that during our peak season (June- October), we only book reservations from Saturday to Saturday.

GREAT LOCATION

Couldn't ask for a better location. Especially if you have water craft. Private dock and you could hit the public launch with a stone from it! LL very accommodating and attentive! Super responsive to texts/questions/needs. 5* experience.

We had a great time! There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room! We also had an entire week of fabulous weather! Adam responded to each and every text from me quickly and efficiently. I would stay again in a heartbeat!! Neighbors with teh 2 Husky pups were super nice!!

Comfortable Waterfront Home

Comfortable waterfront home in great location. Newly furnished with plenty of space for a family of six to spread out with all the amenities of home. Adam was a great host and very responsive, offering plenty of ideas for restaurants and activities. House was an easy 7-minute walk to downtown Alex Bay. Has good dock space with an easy access boat launch nearby. Also, nice deck with great sunset views and very friendly neighbors! We will visit again!!

Great stay

This gem of a house was great!! We stay at Alexandria bay every year. And I would stay here again. Walking distance to town. Drug store across the street. The owners always got back to us with any questions we had. It was so clean. Great view of the water. Walk out sick to get to our boat we rented at Macs boat rental. Enjoy this 5 bedroom gem of a house.

Great deck for watching the river. We were somewhat disappointed with the supplies left in the house. The coffee maker needed cone filters which were not available, and the coffee maker itself was broken. There was very little TP in the house. The queen bedroom upstairs had not been vacuumed well. There were barely enough utensils for 8 people. We all agreed the biggest problem with this house is you have to walk thru the upstairs bathroom to get to the king bed. If someone is using the bathroom you are stuck in the bedroom. All minor complaints - we had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the view from both back porches. The room inside facing the river was our favorite. You can walk to everything in Alex Bay.

Labor Day Weekend Fishing Trip

Fine property with a good location in Alexandria Bay. The Wifi was really slow for the majority of the trip which was a bummer because they only option was streaming on the TV and it was the first weekend of college football. Two bathrooms was a bit rough given the size of our party but we made due. I would recommend this property.

At the time of your stay, we were working with the best internet available to us. Since then, a new company has come to the area, and the internet should be much better moving forward.

Wonderful place for a big family

Wanted a place that would accommodate 10 people, this place did not disappoint. Located just off the main river in a private cove with its own boat slip. We did rent a pontoon boat for the week from Mac’s rentals. All worked out perfectly. 5 bedrooms, two baths. 10 minute walk to the center of town. Dollar store and Kinney Pharmacy just across the street has bread, milk, eggs and oh yes beer. Beautiful outdoor deck. No regrets, we would definitely rent this home again.

2022 August Otter House -Alexandria Bay

Positives: -Very responsive and accommodating host. -Good location to be able to walk to town and grocery store. -Comfortable house size for 6 people. -Air conditioning. -Deck size and grill. -Friendly neighbors. -Docks for boat (note: that you must use outboard side of dock since there are two boats in the boat garage that get used by non-guests of house; a sign indicating this situation would be helpful to avoids knocks on the door from the other boat users wanting to use their boats). Needs work: -Listing indicates a queen bed in one room. All beds are either full size or twin. -Second floor bathroom set-up is not ideal. To access the master bedroom, one must enter through the 2nd floor bathroom. If someone is in the bathroom, one must wait for them to finish before exiting the master bedroom. -As indicated in listing, there are two TVs. One is connected to the WiFi. The other is connected to a DVD player only. The ROKU on the WiFi-connected TV is not connected to any network TV channels (NBC, CBS, ABC). You can access streaming channels like Netflix, Apple TV and Prime, if you have your own account. Be sure to sign out of your account before you leave. Otherwise, you get ROKU streaming channels only. -WiFi is very low bandwidth. The ROKU channels drop out frequently and the picture is low quality. We connected the ROKU to our iPhone hotspots, which greatly improved the picture quality and eliminated signal drops. My son brought his PS4 and Switch, which did not work well on the WiFi due to signal lag.

Paul, Thank you again for choosing to stay at The Otter House. We are sorry that you had trouble with the internet. At the time, we were working with the best internet available to us. Since your stay, a new company has come to the area, and the internet speed will be much better moving forward. In terms of the bed size, the bed located in the main bedroom is in fact a queen. The rest of the rooms have either twin beds or full beds.

Beautiful spot for family getaway

We had a lovely time at this home in Alex Bay, NY. The home has been newly renovated, and the owners have taken care to every detail. All new furniture, appliances, kitchen and bathrooms as well as all new kitchen supplies. Every detail was thought of to make it easy to come right in without having to bring anything but food. The home’s layout is easy for everyone to hang out, but has enough space for people to spread out as well. The location is excellent, within walking distance to restaurants and activities. The view of the water is beautiful. In warmer months, the access to the river is easy to navigate. Perfect if someone comes with a boat. The porch has a great outdoor space with gorgeous views. The owner was super helpful with information about the area and made it easy to check in and out. I look forward to returning, and would recommend this place to anyone coming to Alex Bay.
