The Grizzly Maze offers you the best of both worlds: restoration and adventure. This 9500 ft high alpine wonderland is nestled among 14,000 ft peaks, endless wilderness/BLM lands, and breathtaking panoramic views of Twin Lakes.

Our modern, cozy cabin is located just over two hours from Denver, at the base of Independence Pass, one of the world's top scenic drives. Surrounded by 14ers and minutes from Colorado's largest glacial lakes, all while soaking up panoramic views of snow-capped peaks.

We absolutely love this property, so much so that this is our second time staying here! Our hosts were great, the home is spacious and has a great layout for our group, and the views are unbeatable! We would highly recommend this property.

The very best!

Our family spent a week at the Grizzly Maze and had to very best time! We enjoyed hiking (including the neighborhood trail to Mt. Elbert Forebay), fishing, sight seeing and just relaxing at the Grizzly Maze. The views were 10/10 and everything about our stay was great. Jason and Shana were friendly and very helpful. (Make sure to check out their coffee shop, Roadhouse Coffee in Twin Lakes). We couldn’t have dreamed up a better location or experience for our family!

Mountain Tranquility

This was our third visit to Twin Lakes and the Grizzly Maze was by far the best! The house had everything we needed, great location with absolutely stunning views of the lake and mountains. Quiet, peaceful, tranquil bliss. The owner was nearby and quick to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend the Grizzly Maze for your next Colorado getaway. We will certainly be back!

Beautiful Views, Amazing Hosts

We stayed 5 days, 4 nights and the hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated as much as possible. The bottom floors each have their own little living area with pull out sofas, so it’s perfect for parents with children who want them close by but also want privacy since they have doors that separate them. House was SUPER clean. Easily the cleanest rental I’ve ever stayed in. If we needed the hosts for anything, they were easily accessible and answered any and all questions without complaints. I highly recommend staying here - not only are the views gorgeous, but the hosts are lovely people. You won’t regret it!

Property was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. The only issue was no mention of owner living on property and no pet in master, until two days prior. Issue with pet was resolved. And owners were great (like they weren’t even there). Should be up front with this information. Overall 👍👍

Leadville Marathon FOMO

Our second stay, and just as wonderful as the first time. Twin Lakes holds a special place in our hearts, and your home is now solidified as a core part of our love of the area. We came back out to TL this summer for a place to stay for the Leadville Marathon again, but this time I ended up with a fibular stress fracture during training. This home was the perfect place to avoid the inevitable FOMO. Spending quiet mornings in the hot tub with a good book and then playing games with the family in the great room by the fireplace was the perfect way to spend the weekend. We loved watching the storms that rerouted the marathon course roll in and bury the mountains in snow. We will be back!

A Dreamy Cabin Getaway - 5/5!

My family had the best time staying here. The property was spotless, stocked with everything we needed, and even more gorgeous in real life. Having 3 full rooms with king beds and private bathrooms allowed everyone to have their own space and be comfortable. The views were breathtaking, and we enjoyed them from the hot tub and balcony almost the entire time. Als loved that it's pet friendly so we were able to bring our furry baby with us too! We already want to plan another trip back with our friends. 2 notes that aren't necessarily bad, just to be aware of when booking. 1) The property is a good 25/30 mins from Leadville, so if you're looking for quick access to the town this may not be the place for you. But we were happy to stock up on drinks and groceries and enjoy the quiet, seclusion and beauty as a family. 2) The owners do live in an attached guest suite. But it's completely separate and you/your party have complete privacy. We were actually glad to have them close as during our stay we had a minor issue, and they were super responsive and RIGHT there to help us out.

Amazing Mountain Escape

This amazing house in twin lakes, and its owners, were a joy. I would have no problem renting this place again. In fact, I may rent it again to go and enjoy some time and the power of the mountains nearby. The place was clean, and spacious, and provided what was needed for the party we had there, and the views were amazing. If you are needing a place in or around Twin Lakes or Leadville, don't hesitate and book this place.

Beautiful home with amazing views

This home was perfect for our group. My sisters and I along with our families and mom spent 3 days here. It was spacious; we never felt on top of each other and was great for all ages, from 8 months old to 66. We would all highly recommend this amazing home to all!

Perfect Basecamp

We stayed here as a base camp for Leadville Marathon. Easy drive to Leadville and the views are amazing. We have stayed in Twin Lakes so many times and this will definitely not be the last time we stay at this property.

Girls Gang Gang 2022

The perfect mountain getaway! This home offers an array of needed amenities! Thoughtful touches throughout the home provided by the host! There were a total of 9 of us to occupy this majestic property the pictures does nothing for this home or the breathtaking views 360 of the home every window had an amazing view to offer ! I mean every window! This home is truly in the mountains!!!!! so please be aware of the roads on winter months ! Even which the amazing on-site host was there to help for anything we needed.
