Emigrant, Montana is one of the last genuinely unspoiled small towns in the American West. Tucked into Paradise Valley where the Yellowstone River winds south toward the park, it sits in the shadow of the Absaroka Range with the kind of quiet and dark skies that most people have to travel very far to find. Your address — Sagittarius Place — is not an accident. The stars here are extraordinary.
In town you'll find exactly what you want from a Montana escape and nothing you don't. The Old Saloon is a local institution, cold beer, good burgers, and characters worth meeting. Pine Creek Lodge hosts live music in the summer and is one of the great hidden gems of the valley. A handful of galleries and shops round out a town that punches well above its weight.
Adventure is everywhere. The Yellowstone River runs through the valley and is legendary among fly fishing circles, some of the best dry fly fishing in the country is minutes from the cabin. Hiking trails fan out into the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness in every direction. Wildlife viewing is exceptional year-round. Elk, deer, eagles, and the occasional bear are all part of life in the valley.
Yellowstone National Park is 37 miles south via the north entrance at Gardiner, the only entrance open every single day of the year. Whether you're chasing geysers, bison jams, or wolf sightings in the Lamar Valley, the park is an easy day trip in any season.
In winter the valley transforms completely. The peaks go white, the hot tub becomes essential, and the sauna earns its place as the best seat in the house. Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snow coaching are all within reach, and the roads stay passable year-round.
This is not a location you stumble upon. Guests who find it tend to come back.
You will have the entire home and 35 acres to yourself.

The Yellowstone Sky Cabin sits high on a hillside above Emigrant, Montana, private, remote, and positioned for arguably the best views in Paradise Valley.
Outside is where the magic starts. A brand new Sleeping Giant barrel sauna with a glass panel faces directly into the Absaroka Range. Sweat with one of the most dramatic mountain panoramas in the West filling your view. Step out and sink into the cedar hot tub on the deck. As the sun drops, move to the fire stovw, pour something good, and watch the alpenglow fade over the peaks. There is no bad seat at this property.
The main level welcomes you with soaring vaulted ceilings, warm wood floors, and a personality that announces itself immediately. A leather sofa, cowhide rugs, and a mounted deer set the Montana tone. Then a neon sign reading "Home is wherever I'm with you" reminds you this place has a sense of humor too. The electric flame fireplace makes the living room impossibly cozy on cool mountain evenings. The fully equipped kitchen handles everything from morning coffee to a proper dinner, with a SMEG refrigerator that deserves its own mention.
When the mood strikes, drop the needle on the record player. The vinyl collection covers serious ground.
The primary bedroom is a fully designed room, bold southwestern wallpaper, an orange woven king bed, and a sliding barn door opening into a freshly remodeled en-suite bathroom. The bathroom is boutique hotel quality: a walk-in glass shower tiled floor to ceiling in dramatic geometric black and white tile.
Up the spiral staircase, the loft is presided over by Dolly Parton herself. Featuring floor to ceiling wallpaper, vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, and a mini-split for year-round comfort. It sleeps three: one queen bed and a twin trundle. The second full bathroom off the loft carries the same Western-chic spirit as the rest of the cabin, cowboy boot shower curtain and all.
