Here, mornings begin with the soft sounds of nature and visits from our resident owls, Hootie and Tootsie. We had a lovely stay at the Salty Owl! The host was wonderful at communicating, even with unanticipated hiccups. The house is incredibly stocked for all your beach, pool and cooking needs! Honestly one of the best VRBO rentals we have stayed at. Beautiful property. The owls were a treat. Very communicative property owner. Pool was perfect depth for kids to play and parents not to worry. Totally recommend!

Salty Owl is a real Gem!

We just spent a fabulous month at the Salty Owl. It is a beautiful home that is tastefully decorated and well-equipped. We really enjoyed the burrowing owls. The Host is a pleasure to deal with. We have already booked for next February.

Relaxing Family Fun

This was our second fabulous stay at The Salty Owl and it was just as memorable as our first visit last summer. This is a well maintained, supplied, and thoughtful place for those of all ages. Kids enjoyed watching the owls, playing supplied games, swimming in the pool, and scouting for lizards in the gardens. Cannot thank the owner enough for sharing this property with us.

Great house and location!

We just stayed at the house for a relaxing Spring Break. The house was clean and nice. Looks just like the pictures. The kids loved the pool and swam until dark. Lots of good restaurants in the area as well. The owners were very attentive if I had any questions. I would highly recommend for anyone.

Beautiful Home!

We absolutely loved staying at the Salty Owl. It was clean, lots of space, and had everything we needed from beach towels to pots and pans! The owner was incredibly kind and responded to messages very quickly. The pool was the kids favorite part! Heated and clean. Beautiful patio by the pool for the adults to sit and relax. The burrowing Owls in the front yard are so fun to watch. We had ages 6 to 95 and all very much enjoyed this home. Highly recommend. We can’t wait to stay again!

January 2024 stay

Thank you for letting us stay in your amazing home. Everything was perfect just like the photos depicted but especially the pool. We appreciate that it was heated when the weather was not so warm for January in Florida. The owls in the front yard were active and greeted us every day. Great neighborhood for walks in the evening. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

This is my first time staying at a VRBO and it was a great experience. The occasion was a funeral for our dad who was 95 years old. It was an excellent tribute and great that’s all of us children could be together to honor his memory. Overall, my family loved our home away from home "staycation". Regardless of my experience, my children's happiness is priceless and I am most appreciative of the location as well.I was most impressed with the 10/10 rating but was a bit tooken back that i didnt experience the same. Communication: I had DM the property manager at nearly 11 pm regarding the a/c in guest wing, they responded nearly 24 hours later. Also, i believe it's most helpful to comunicate any "known" issues to guests ahead of time (broken cover in dishwasher).Cleanliness: inside of the refrigerator were spill stains underneath a couple of the glass shelves. As guest, we are expected to be respectful and mindful and I believe as a business, it should work both ways.Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re so glad to hear your family loved their “staycation” at The Salty Owl—that’s always our top priority. We do want to address a couple of the points mentioned: We do apologize for the delayed response over the holiday weekend, our team does their best to respond quickly to after-hours messages, though replies may sometimes take longer at night. As noted in our response during your stay, the A/C is centrally controlled, and in the high heat index temps we experienced (over 100°), rooms further from the unit can run slightly warmer. To help with this, we provide overhead fans in each bedroom and also offered to lower the thermostat for you if needed. Regarding the dishwasher, as also shared during your stay, the detergent door was intentionally removed because it sometimes failed to open. By placing pods directly inside, the detergent always releases properly and ensures dishes come out clean every time. As for the refrigerator, our cleaning team works hard to maintain high standards. With this particular Samsung model, a small spill is sealed beneath a fixed glass panel that simply doesn’t come apart (we’ve tried repeatedly without success, ugh). While it’s not visually perfect, the actual surfaces that touch any food are fully clean and sanitized. 😁👍 We appreciate the opportunity to clarify these details for you and our future guests. We’re proud to consistently earn 5-star reviews and will continue working hard to ensure every guest has a comfortable, enjoyable stay at The Salty Owl.

Lots to hoot about when staying at The Salty Owl

Private pool, large shaded outdoor living space, two living rooms, large open living areas, luxury bathrooms and kitchen... what more could you want? How about two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living room having access doors/views to the pool area. Two burrowing owls welcome you with their presence as their home is in the front yard. How cool! The quiet residential area house is centrally located in Cape Coral to access the gulf area in 15-30 minutes or to main roads to take you to Fort Myers or inland with ease. My expectations were surpassed with our stay as I'm sure yours will be as well.

Amazing house

The Salty Owl was amazing! The house was beautifully decorated, clean and functional. This house came with everything you could possibly think of…every kitchen utensil & appliance…even down to a holder in the shower for your razor. Seriously, every time I thought “I wonder if they have …”, they had it. Even an awesome ironing board hidden away in the laundry room. It was def a home away from home and we felt right at home. The pool was great and inviting. The house was in a perfect location and close to shopping, dining and not too far from beaches. And Jolene was an excellent host and responsive to all our questions. We absolutely loved it and would definitely book again. And Did I mention the cutest borrowing owls out front? Super cute! Highly recommend booking this home! Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in Cape Coral

Insgesamt ein sehr gelungener Aufenthalt mit der Familie. Das Haus befindet sich an guter, zentraler Lage und ist sehr sauber. Alles wirkt sehr gepflegt und neu. Darüber hinaus fanden wir die Einrichtung sehr geschmackvoll und haben uns vom ersten Tag an wohlgefühlt. Wunderschöner Pool mit überdachtem Bereich. Sehr gute Ausstattung der Küche und des gesamten Hauses. Es fehlte nichts und auch Handtücher waren in absolut ausreichender Anzahl vorhanden. Auf Anfragen bei der Hausbesitzerin Jolene wurde umgehend und freundlich geantwortet. Alles in allem ein sehr schönes Haus. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder !

Fantastic Family-Friendly Property

We loved our stay at the Salty Owl and cannot wait to come back! It was great to watch the owls each morning and have the pool (3-5ft depth) there for the kids to enjoy where they could be easily monitored. Loved that it was a salt water pool, too! Property had wonderful layout, nice appliances and we felt safe. We cannot wait to come and stay again!

Amazing Place to Stay!! We can’t wait to come back.

The Salty Owl was an wonderful place to stay. The house was spacious and we all had our own privacy when needed. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking in, bbq and even baking (my daughter loved she could make brownies)!! The pool was so relaxing and the beach items were a bonus when we went to Sanibel. Jolene was an GREAT host and was very responsive to our questions or concerns. I would highly recommend her and her property. We are already looking at when we can come again (maybe in October ❤️). Oh and the owls were so sweet. We enjoyed watching the owls everyday. Everyone one of us even the teenagers would peek to see what the owl family was doing. A great trip and lovely house… I’d give it a 10 out of 10!!

Beautiful Vacation Home

This is a great home for staying with friends & family. The home was very spacious and clean, we loved all the labels for light switches, towels etc., the host was very responsive to messages. The pool and outdoor seating area’s were very nice, with a good amount of pool toys & floats for everyone. We only wished the pool waterfall hours were longer. Turned on at 10am and off by 6pm, we would swim many evening and wished it would stay on closer to 8-9pm. We will definitely stay here again! P.S. the owls were so cute!

We chose this property not only because of it's fabulous location to just about everything one could want or need, but because of it beauty. It's so open, light and airy. The amount of space it provides with the 2 unique main living spaces, the 4 beds, amazing lanai and canal views. The home has been completely updated and all the appliances are brand new. I just fell in love and had to have it.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We were quite surprised to find that we have 2 Florida Burrowing Owls sharing the property with us. We named them Hootie and Tootsie (named after the "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop" owl) They are so cute and we have so much fun watching and learning more about them every time we stay.
