Welcome to Le Nid du Sentier — a cosy 70 m² apartment in the heart of the Vallée de Joux, in the Swiss Jura vaudois. We have designed it as a calm and warm escape for travellers who want to slow down, breathe, and discover a region still untouched by mass tourism.

The apartment is located in Derrière-la-Côte, a peaceful residential neighbourhood of Le Sentier — the main village of the Vallée. You are within walking distance of all amenities, 16 minutes from the Lac de Joux, and a few minutes by car from cross-country skiing tracks, hiking trails, and the world-famous watchmaking houses that made the Vallée famous (Audemars Piguet in Le Brassus, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin).

THE APARTMENT

A bright 70 m² home organised around:
– A main bedroom with queen size bed (160 × 200), wardrobes and storage
– A second bedroom with a comfortable single bed (90 cm), suitable for an adult or a child
– A bright living room with comfortable sofa
– A fully equipped kitchen: dishwasher, oven, cooktop, coffee machine, kettle, complete tableware
– A bathroom with shower
– An outdoor terrace with table and barbecue — perfect for summer evenings and sunny breakfasts
– High-speed Wi-Fi, washing machine, dryer, efficient central heating (year-round comfort), television
– Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

Open mountain views over the Jura range, sunny exposure, light wood interior. Maximum capacity 3 guests.

THE WELCOME

We prefer to welcome you in person on arrival, between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM. This allows us to hand over the keys, show you around the apartment, and share our best tips on the region. Depending on our availability and your arrival time, a secure key box may also be used. We get in touch a few days before to agree on the arrangements. We remain reachable throughout your stay while respecting your privacy.


THE VALLÉE DE JOUX

A Jura plateau between 1000 and 1700 m altitude, 50 minutes from Lausanne and 1h15 from Geneva. Four seasons to enjoy:
– Summer: swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing on the lake; hiking towards Mont Tendre and the Dent de Vaulion; long evenings on the terrace
– Autumn: spectacular colours of spruce and beech forests
– Winter: cross-country skiing (groomed trail network 5 min by car), snowshoeing, cosy atmosphere. Cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals at the Sports Centre (12 min walking), with ValPass discount.
– Spring: blooming nature, returning light, first walks around the lake

TOURIST TAX

CHF 5 per night per person (exempt for children under 16), payable on arrival in cash or by TWINT. It gives you access to the ValPass guest card:
– Free TRAVYS train Le Pont – Le Brassus
– Free AVJ buses between all villages
– Free buses up to the Col du Marchairuz and Col du Mollendruz
– Free Caprice II boat on the lake (in season)
– Discounts at the Watchmaking Museum, the cinema, the AstroVal observatory, Sports Centre wellness, bike, paddleboard and snowshoe rentals
