Peaceful Mountain Lodge perfect for a getaway!

Whispering Pines Lodge is a peaceful mountain lodge that is ideal for a multi-family getaway. The Lodge is a two-story home with breathtaking views of Wheeler Peak and is located 5 minutes from the Angel Fire Ski Resort.

The 3100 square foot home is located on a two acre lot and features two living areas, each with a 65 inch Smart TV. There are five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, giving everyone room to spread out. The bunk room has three bunk beds and is perfect for the kids. It has french doors that open up to the side yard where we often see deer munching on the grass.

The large kitchen is full stocked with everything the cook will need to feed the crew. A brand new range, dishwasher and refrigerator were installed in August, 2025. The dining table ends up being the hang out spot and seats 10 but we usually squeeze more in. There's a granite table downstairs that seats 4 if anyone prefers a little peace and quiet while they enjoy a meal.

There are two fire pits, one on the front porch and one on the north side of the home. We recommend making time to star gaze after sunset - the skies are amazing!

We had an issue with some stray dogs being left behind by someone else, no fault to the owners at all, and the hosts took care of it right away. We appreciated their quick response and had a great stay.

Great little place near Angel Fire Resort

This place is a good size and quick access to the road to get to Angel Fire. The house has a lot of space for kids to go play and adults to relax. It has a great morning Sunrise view as well! This is our second stay here. I will probably book it again!

The house was spacious and plenty of room for all of us. There were a few things that were a bit disappointing but not such a big deal that I would not go back. The master bathroom had not been cleaned and the trash was not emptied. We had to rewash most of the pots and pans due to them being greasy and dirty (I am sure due to previous occupants) and the remote to the upstairs TV could not be found. Our host was very responsive to the remote issue and really tried to help locate it. Unfortunately there was not much snow at Angel Fire to snowboard but we headed to Red River where it was lovely! Not a perfect trip but good enought that we would do it all over again!

Christmas Vacation

We had such a relaxing Christmas vacation. The proximity to the ski resort was fantastic and the house was spacious and provided everything we needed. The deer even paid us a visit two days in a row. We would definitely stay here again.

Ski week

House is very spacious with 2 living room areas and a nice dining table. Bunk room was perfect for our group of teenage boys with a pool table. Bedroom to bathroom ratio was perfect. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cookware. Only thing missing is ceiling fans in bedrooms. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful

Nice cabin, we have stayed in lodge multiple years, but the small cabin was perfect for just the two of us. VERY ACCOMMODATING owners, super friendly. Our only wish was that there was a grill, but it didn't bother us too much, just ate out more! LOL

Good experience

This property worked well for our needs. Location is great for skiing & we had plenty of space for our 2 families (10 people total). That being said, Iā€™m not sure I would stay here again. The house is old & I believe the price reflects that but I didnā€™t expect everything in the house to be so old as well (heater- loud, all appliances, & everything in the kitchen). If you know that going in then you can have the right expectations! Everything worked & we had no issues except some flickering lights which they warned us about.

Beautiful get away!

Older cabin, interesting layout. Itā€™s a bit dated, but hey, itā€™s a cabin, not a resort, and the views are breath taking! We loved watching the snow fall from the big picture windows in the living roomā€¦ lots of windows. I opened them all just to get to see all of outside! Having 4 1/2 baths (nice bathrooms) was wonderful, and unlike an earlier post, we had plenty of hot water for all showers. The layout is great for families with different interests with two main sitting room. A lot of space! My little ones loved the game roomā€¦ but it really needs some investment in some pool sticksā€¦ only one and it has a broken tip, as well as game pieces for the chess and checker board set. The stairs arenā€™t for the weak kneed, ā€¦ make sure you have someone strong to get groceries up to the main floor, Up stairs. . And if you have toddlers, Iā€™d bring a safety gate, or ask for one. We had a couple of tumbles. The house needs a good spring cleaning to get rid of cob webs, and a few drawers cleaned out, but nothing gross. Iā€™ll take a fun cabin with a beautiful view, over a few cobwebs any day!

This cabin was perfect for our group. The only issue we had was that the beds were very small. I would think about upgrading the beds. Otherwise, it was perfect.

Great Location

This large house is in a great location, easy to get to and close to the lake. It has 5 bedrooms, 3 upstairs and 2 down There were a few minor issues, but to me they did not make too much of a difference. I enjoyed the scenery, the space of the house and my family all together. It had what I needed, no luxury. I liked it just fine and considered coming back. A nice place to stay with family. During our stay there were many electrical blackouts, not to the fault of the owner. Unfortunately, the kitchen is also upstairs. The upstairs is the main living quarters. Lots of stair climbing. The kids really liked the bunkroom with the pool table. The downstairs bathroom is carpeted? A few dark spots due to burned out or broken light bulbs. We had to move the coffee maker to another outlet. The beds are not very comfortable and they definitely need new pillows. I suggest you bring your own pillows. The towels were very nice. It was hot when we stayed, Labor Day, no AC and no ceiling fans. Even with windows open it was too warm upstairs. The hot water gave out after two showers. We had 14 people staying. The dishwasher did not work.

Our Life Saver

A previous CO VRBO was canceled at the last moment and we were diligently searching to find a replacement that would meet our needs at the last minute. Owners/property managers went out of their way to have the place cleaned and ready for us on short notice. All things considered, it was a very nice fit for our family. Many thanks to the folks who made this happen for our family.

Beautiful and Cozy

Our family enjoyed our stay at the cozy home in Angel Fire. It was perfect for our family. The scenery was beautiful and our view was breathtaking. We were able to spend precious time together and make memories that will last a lifetime. The cozy home was comfortable, inviting, and warm. It felt like home, yet set in a snowy wonderland. Our 4 adult children and 3 teenagers relaxed, laughed and spent quality time with each other. This will always be a treasure to me. Perfect fit for us.
