Only 8 minutes from Hayward and and located on one of the most pristine lakes in Wisconsin for walleye ice fishing! In the summer, after a perfect day of swimming right off the dock in the crystal clear warm waters of the lake, soak up the breathtaking sunset on one of our two decks. In the winter months cozy up to the warmth and glow of the wood burning indoor fireplace after a snowmobile ride or snow shoe hike on one many of the nearby beautiful trails! ****This cabin also offers a great space for large families boasting two kitchens!!

Strange layout and not quite as private as we had expected given very close proximity to other small cabins. Had enough space for all of us but lots of level changes which made me a bit worried about young kids. Lake was great, boating was great. Lots of bedrooms and contained all required items. Also easy to get to town if needed

Great place and location

This property was perfect for a trip to Hayward. The property had tons of space for our group of 8. It was very clean and had everything we needed.

Great family spot!

Great property and location. I’d recommend this place if you have a large group. Having two kitchens was extremely helpful!

The pros: place was large many beds and wonderful deck with lake view. The lake was clear with few weeds. We were a little surprised about the following:Cleaning staff left a half eaten peach in the kitchen which was moldy and generated fruit flies that stuck around for our entire visit. Mattresses all seemed soft and uncomfortable. Dishwasher didn’t clean the dishes. CO alarms were chirping and didn’t get replaced when notified. We all got swimmers itch from the lake and would have proactively toweled off had we known. Overall, we wished some things were improved but enjoyed the location and the lake and views. Also note this house is on land shared with other cabins. That didn’t bother us but we weren’t aware of it.

This a very dishonest review. We delivered brand new fire/co2 alarms within 12hrs when the other three others chirped and needed replacement. Additionally, there are smoke alarms in every room of our cabin (a total of 13) far beyond what is legally required for additional safety of our guests. We addressed the cleaning staff about their mistake right away and made a new plan moving forward with doing a thorough walk through after turnover to make sure everything is tip top. Every message I received from you, which was daily related to things as simple as directions somewhere, were responded to you promptly. Dishwasher repair man was notified and unfortunately the part took two weeks to arrive-something we don’t have control over. There are two large sinks for dishwashing available as back up as we discussed. You are the first to complain about mattresses, and sorry they did not meet your expectations. With seven bedrooms and large groups everyone has different preferences on mattress softness/firmness. Lake itch is common in northern Wisconsin lakes and Hayward area in mid summer during the hot months unfortunately and with the proper research and simple precautions the lake is still very enjoyable. Beautiful place and lake.

The house was large and well stocked. It was clean and had great access to the lake. The pier was a perfect place for the kids to play and to dock our boat and jet ski safely. Amy was in contact with us when we needed to speak with her which was truly appreciated. We would love to visit again!

This rental is Exceptional! We loved our week here! Bedrooms and baths were clean, beds were comfy. We had a blast playing in their game rooms, Pac-Man, GoldenTee golf game, even a throw-back Mario Bros game! Tons of board games! The place has great air conditioning and a ton of fans for every room. Having 2 kitchens meant having 2 refrigerators and two stoves! Big plus! You’ll need to bring your own shampoo, soap, etc, for the bathrooms, which was no problem because we always travel with our own.Amy and Zac are wonderful hosts, they were extremely helpful whenever we reached out to them. The lake is gorgeous, Huge! and extremely clean! Water was like bath water, and NO WEEDS! The cabin faces west, so we had amazing sunsets over the lake every night! Hayward is a 20 minute drive away, lots to do and see there. They have a great Candy Store and a ton of great shopping! And they have a great Walmart. Just can’t say enough good things about this rental, Will definitely rent again next year! Thank you so much Amy and Zach.

Beautiful lake property. Loved the decks, fire ring area, Dock and swimming area. Spent most of our time outdoors. The enclosed porch has been altered from the picture, It is only 1/2 the size ~as a Side by side is now stored in the other half of the screened in porch. That was a disappointment as we would have used that area more. The owners are very responsive to any questions or needs. I bring my “timeshare box” with me as many times kitchens are not adequate for our needs. There are plenty of pans and serving bowls just not high quality. Remember, It’s the Northwoods and a cabin. Our first night we were treated to firewood and a smore box. Very nice. Thank you.

We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay Nancy! The previous porch when we purchased the property a year ago was unusable due to conditions it was in so we were excited to completely renovate this area for our guests…this included all new windows, furniture, paint, carpet, and more. Our hope is although the area is smaller it is much more enjoyable than previously. Thank you for the reminder about the photos as we do need to update the pictures to reflect many of the updates we’ve done this spring throughout the property. Disappointed Birkie Skiers

I would not recommend this cabin for any skier/spectator or fan of the American Birkebeiner looking to stay warm or get warm after a long day in the WI Northwoods. From unlocked doors to an unwelcoming host - we found the cabin at 50 digress with a Smart Heater that didn’t have directions to left over food on the counter, not to mention a bed that was unmade and had clearly been slept in prior to our arrival. The disappointment continued through out the week when the cabin (which is clearly two cabins connected by a hallway that also is considered the”bunk room”) we came home repeatedly to a cold cabin … Not to mention a fireplace that wasn’t useable. I saw this cabin was double the cost for the winter of 2025 and was absolutely appalled. As a long time VRBO user - this is my first negative experience and I felt it important share.

Hi Emalea, we are saddened to hear you did not enjoy your stay as you were a repeat guest with us! I was not made aware of the furnace issue, as our welcome guide states we absolutely encourage guests to contact our property manager as well as myself if any issue occurs such as this…unfortunately no contact was made to let us know. The fireplace does work well and if you would choose to stay in the future we can go over the function of it prior to your arrival. With the remodel of our porch and work being done to it prior to your stay to get it ready for the summer, the door could not be locked in the back. We do have neighbors who keep a very close eye on the property to ensure safety of all guests during this time while we make improvements. We want all of our guests to feel welcome and that they are getting a great experience when they stay…unfortunately there was absolutely zero communication around the issues at hand, as we would have resolved them immediately for you had we known. We hope you reconsider staying with us again due to the uniqueness of these circumstances!

Great place! We would definitely stay here again. PROS:-- Adequately stocked kitchen -- the knives were decent and sharp. (one of my pet peeves with rentals)-- Beautiful fire pit and deck with lots of seating and great views.-- Flat outdoor space for outdoor games.-- Easy and fast communication with host.-- The indoor space is spread out. This is an older cabin that has been added on to so it almost feels like a warren of rooms and hallways. We liked this because it gave each of our families, their own area. It definitely has a cabin feel -- nothing fancy, which made for a relaxed vibe. There is an enclosed back porch which made for a great hang out area. (We couldn't hear the teenagers when they stayed up late.)CONS:-- This is part of a condo association and the other cabins are very close to this cabin. The beach and docks are shared space. (You do have your own dedicated part of the dock.) This was not an issue at all for us and people were respectful and easy to be around. (during the week, we were pretty much the only people there), but it wasn't clear on the property description ahead of time.-- There was one step up or step down from one room to the next -- pretty much for every room from the kitchen. They are all marked with caution tape. We were with my 88 and 85 year old parents and one of our party was on crutches. I wouldn't recommend this property for people with mobility issues.-- None of the showers had shower grab bars.

Amazing stay

We had a great experience here!! Water at dock was so clean and clear and kids loved swimming off the dock!! The space was great for a large family to stay at and ATV trails were not to far away!! By far the best cabin we have ever stayed at so far!

Great location, needs some TLC

Location is great, beautiful sunset spot. Close to town, which is very convenient. Lots of room, and the two kitchens, were very convenient as well. Unfortunately all of the beds are very uncomfortable. Almost all of the cookware was dirty, broken, scratched, and basic items missing. Not a single sharp knife in the building, and limited utensils for using the grill. This could easily be 5/5 stars with some upgrades and upkeep.

Thank you for review Chris! The property is under new ownership as of June 2023 and we have replaced and upgraded mattresses to improve guest comfort. All kitchen items that are broken, damaged, and missing have also been replaced. We are dedicated on continuous improvement on the property so meet the satisfaction of our guests! OUTSIDE:
*This cozy cabin is on Grindstone Lake - 3,176 acres of pristine, crystal clear water with *Access to a dock (seasonal) to bring your boat or rent one nearby to spend quality time with family and friends on the lake. Cabin comes with 1 dedicated dock on a shared pier. The dedicated dock is the leftmost slip when facing the lake. A public boat launch is about 2 miles to the West of the cabin.
*Two swim platforms are right off the pier.
*Two 10-foot kayaks with paddles are kept under the small deck for guest use.
*Firepit with outdoor chairs - must provide own wood.
*Grills - 1 gas, 1 charcoal
*Resort like community with 10 individually owned cabins.

*This location is 12 miles away from the hustle and bustle of Hayward, WI.
*The lake front is beautiful with tall pines
*Cabin is located right on snowmobile and ATV trails. Lots of local options to rent and deliver snowmobiles or ATVs
