Kings’ Suite - Château d’Ancezune & Plunge Pool

Welcome to Château Vieux d’Ancezune, an exceptional residence whose origins date back to the 12th century. Located in the heart of the historic village of Caderousse, between Orange and Avignon, this château has witnessed nearly nine centuries of history and still preserves all the charm of its medieval heritage.

Formerly the residence of the Ancezune family, it is said, according to historical records, to have hosted several French monarchs over the centuries, including Francis I of France in 1524, Henry III of France in 1575, and Louis XIII in 1622. 

Carefully restored, the château beautifully combines the authenticity of its stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and historic wrought-iron features with modern comfort. Staying at Château d’Ancezune offers a unique experience in a place steeped in history, in the heart of Provence, just minutes from Orange, Avignon, and the renowned vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Ground Floor

👑 The Catherine de Médicis Suite

A self-contained 50 m² studio featuring a queen-size bed (160 × 200 cm), a lounge area with a 140 cm sofa bed for one additional guest, and a TV with Netflix access only (included). The studio also includes a fully equipped kitchen, a private shower room, and a large walk-in wardrobe.

A queen-size bed (160 x 200 cm), a shower, a washbasin, and a comfortable sitting area.

A magnificent grand piano is located in the hallway.

First Floor

👑 The François I Suite

A queen-size bed (160 x 200 cm), a private shower, and a sheltered terrace.

👑 The Louis XIII Suite

A king-size bed (140 x 210 cm), a whirlpool bathtub, and a mezzanine level.

The Kings' Hall

The centerpiece of the château is located on the upper floor: the Salon des Rois, a majestic 72 m² reception room dominated by an impressive monumental fireplace, considered one of the most remarkable in Provence.

This exceptional space also includes a reception area, television, piano, and a large dining table where all guests can gather together.

Kitchen

A spacious 48 m² fully equipped kitchen completes this level, featuring a dishwasher, oven, cooktop, refrigerator, and everything needed for cooking and dining.

Outdoor Area – The Ramparts Patio

Enjoy a beautifully furnished outdoor space with comfortable seating and a refreshing plunge pool, perfect for cooling off during the warm Provençal summer days.

Welcome Starter Kit

Please note that access to the second floor is closed off with a safety chain, as this is a private area and is not part of the rental. No one will occupy this floor during your stay, and you will have exclusive use of all the areas included in the listing.

Dogs are welcome, limited to one dog per reservation. An additional fee of €65 will be charged on top of your reservation to cover extra cleaning. Any damage, wear and tear, or additional work resulting from the dog’s presence may be billed separately or deducted from the security deposit.

The accommodation is located within the grounds of a historic château. Several original architectural features have been preserved to maintain the authenticity and character of the property.

The outdoor plunge pool is designed for relaxation and cooling off and differs from a traditional swimming pool.

Check-out is before 10:00 AM.

For any request for an early check-in or late check-out, the request must be made no later than 6:00 PM on the day before arrival. Requests are subject to the accommodation's availability.

Mid-stay cleaning

Important – Security Deposit
A €2,000 security deposit is required no later than 7 days before arrival.

The deposit is processed securely through Swikly as a credit card pre-authorization:
No money is charged from your account
The amount is simply held temporarily as a guarantee
The deposit covers, among other things:
- Damage to the property
- Theft or loss (keys, equipment, or other items)
- Excessive dirtiness or failure to properly care for the accommodation
- Unauthorized use of equipment
- Failure to comply with house rules (pets, occupancy limits, quiet hours, etc.)

This security deposit does not limit the tenant’s liability. Guests may remain responsible for damages exceeding this amount if necessary.



Any damage must be reported within 4 hours of arrival (with photographs) or immediately if it occurs during the stay.



The security deposit hold is automatically released between 8 and 14 days after departure.
