Come enjoy yourself in this one-of-a-kind professionally decorated historic Wasserhaus- Helen's Water Tank House on the Chattahoochee. It was built in 1967 and served as a fire reserve. Since the conversion of the Wasserhaus, we have been interviewed by Forbes magazine and received all amazing reviews, earning a 5.0 rating from various booking platforms.
This breathtaking rental is located in the charming German-style town of (Alpine) Helen, Georgia.
Relax on the riverfront of the beautiful Chattahoochee River or take a short five minute walk to all of the amazing shops, Go-Karts, waterslides, Fish, tube, raft, kayak, hike, explore, relax or enjoy everything the city offers. Numerous wineries, restaurants, events and activities within walking distance will keep everyone entertained

Graduation Trip

This trip was to celebrate my son’s graduation. And it could not have been more special for he and his friends. Stephen, the owner was very responsive and friendly, offering great information and suggestions on things for these young men to do if it rained or they got bored. Advised on the best fishing holes, and where to get fishing licenses. The house is absolutely gorgeous and just a quick walk to the town center! We would love to return without a bunch of boys next time. Thank You Stephen and Monica!

Cozy home on the river right in town with live music across the river. Loved this place and will definitely stay again. Great for family getaways.

When in doubt, don't

This home is beautifully decorated, like the feeling of professionally decorated. Furniture, beds, decors, kitchen items etc. Hosts are very thoughful and sweet. They even surprised me with balloons and bday cake when I casually mentioned it was bday. This house is closed to restaurants/shops/activities, walking distance or less than 10mins drive. Was a little pricey for me really, BUT, it was all worth it!!! Thanks Stephen! I hope all will be well with all your future guests.

Amazing property

We had such a great time staying at this amazing property. This unique home has so much character and amazing views right on the river. The location is perfect and walking distance to everything downtown Helen has to offer.

Great for families

We stayed a few days with family and had lots of space!! The inside is awesome and you must see it to believe how well it’s been done. Stephen was great, and was available to help with any questions. He let us use the tubes in the garage and that saved us money. Great property, fun to sit on the decks and watch tubers pass by. Would recommend this for large family or a few couples.

Totally Amazing & Unique Stay in Helen, GA

The WasserHaus was one of our highlights of our summer roadtrip! The house beautifully done inside and out. Super Clean and the Check in was really Easy. Stephen answered all my questions and even gave me tips and suggestions for our stay. The location was in walking distance of everything in town, there no need to move the car. There even a full supermarket, Bette's Market a few blocks away. It was truely a home away from home...BIG Thanks to Stephen and his family for hosting us! P.S. the best people watching in at the house where you can watch the river tubing right on the deck.

Unique Property for a Wonderful Stay

The Wasserhaus is a true gem of a property. The design and layout of this house are very well done. It was clean and well-appointed and very comfortable. The host, Stephen, made sure we were taken care of before we arrived and gave us some great suggestions on where to eat and some fun things to do. We felt at home immediately. The house is close enough to downtown Helen to walk to almost anything, but also far enough from the bustle of town to be pretty quiet. We walked into downtown several times each day to shop, eat, and sightsee. You can also opt to stay at the house and spend hours on the balconies overlooking the Chattahoochee and being entertained by the tubers. Great house and we would definitely stay here again.

Girl’s Trip Weekend!

We just returned from quick Girl’s Trip to Helen,GA! Six of us stayed comfortably in the beautifully renovated water tower. Once we arrived we were able to walk everywhere easily within Helen. The accommodations were excellent and the owner/host was easily accessible by phone or email to quickly answer any questions. We felt safe and very comfortable in the home. We would all definitely recommend this location to anyone and will book again if we visit Helen in the future! Thanks for helping to make our weekend such a memorable trip!

Most Unique Lodging Experience Ever!

This was such a unique experience! It feels like a super fancy tree house. Or tree mansion:) 3 levels. With spacious rooms. Beautiful bathrooms. Beautiful view. Great location! Friendly host!

Excellent Experience!

We had a great time at this location. The owner, Stephen, was very engaged and communicative. The location couldn't be better for a home base. Downtown is within 5-7 minutes on foot, and the grocery store is right around the corner. The house itself is super unique as a converted water tower. It's really well done, and comfortable for a group of 6-8. We'll be back!

Unique and convenient

Wasserhaus was just as pictured online. Our kids enjoyed the unique layout and round walls, as well as the arcade across the street. Our teenage son fly-fished right outside the house in the river, and our whole family enjoyed hiking Dukes Creek Falls just 10mins away. Downtown Helen was very close and an easy walk for exploring. The IGA in Betty's was helpful for a basic grocery run.

Off the charts nice equivalent to a 4 star hotel. Owner stopped by he was very kind and helpful. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else from now on.

Fun Stay in Helen

Octoberfest in a water tower castle!

We know it’s not a castle, but staying in the Wasserhaus gave us the feeling of being inside a castle turret. Well-appointed and so conveniently located near all the fun of Helen. This is a gun and unique spot. The hot tub was used nightly and we gathered as a family to enjoy the living room and kitchen but also had several balconies and rooms to get quiet time when needed. Great spot to stay in a unique town.

Great Birthday trip for our Teen!!

Our teens Loved the water tower!! They could tub down the river anytime and walk down to Helen! Best birthday weekend get away! Host were very nice! We will be coming back to stay next year.

Awesome quarters! Beautiful interior! We enjoyed hanging in the house watching the tubers.

Hosts were wonderful to work with. We will definitely go back. They let us use their tubes which saved us money. And it's an easy walk to betty's store.

Entertainment for days

No need to go anywhere just grab a cold drink and be entertained by the tubbers going by in the hundreds. Great place and a super nice host.

Awesome Place

This place was great. The whole families loved it. It was clean and had everything we needed. It is in a great location could walk to town easily. We really enjoyed watching the tubers go down the river. Would definitely stay again
