Escape away from normal life to farm country where you have your own peaceful space and stay in our cozy Farmhouse on an active 40 acre farm of Mediterranean Miniature Donkeys! Designed with large family gatherings in mind, you will have a spacious building with 7 bedrooms that can sleep 19 people. You will also have your own spacious kitchen to congregate with family and friends, where your group can cook their meals and enjoy camaraderie. Staying at Donkeytown also gives you a beautiful 40 acres to explore with hiking, picnics, and fishing in our two fully stocked ponds. Bring your fishing poles or just enjoy sitting on the pier while drinking a cup of coffee or watching the sunset.

We are proud to be a breeder of Mediterranean Miniature Donkeys touted as the "most lovable animals on the planet." You can have as much or as little interaction with them as you desire. Feel free to hang out in barns and pastures with them and each day we close the gates and let a few free range on the farm. They'll be glad to hang out with you, are very social and want lots of hugs and kisses. You'll be able to say you "kissed ass at Donkeytown" when you leave. In addition, we have four free range goats, Willie, Waylon, Johnny, and June, plus two lambs, Pancho and Lefty, that will greet you daily!
Come welcome a stress-free farmcation where you'll experience therapeutic donkeys and lots of love.
We can now accommodate conferences for up to 40 people with meeting space when you add the Barndominiums at Donkeytown - Indiana's Premier Multi-generational Destination (See listing #2181263)

Such a cute farm! The place was decorated so nicely for Christmas. There were so many toys for the kids to play with. Plenty of room for everyone!

I have no idea how this place and the owner have high ratings. About 9 pm the very first night a lady comes to the house IRATE AND SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS AT US that we let the make donkey out with the others. When those at the house tried to explain that they didn't see anyone over where she was talking about she screamed "OH I SEE YOUR GONNA BE ONE OF THOSE FAMILIES". Even though I txt her at 4 pm to let her know we were there she never showed up until this incident. We stayed in 1884 house, one bedroom has 2 vanities and only 1 of them half way works. The door came off the hinges of another. One bedroom upstairs has no air cond. We saw mice and mice droppings in the kitchen. only 1 time in 6 days did someone come around and pick up the animal droppings that are everywhere including sidewalks. There is no washer & dryer if your wondering, that's an email she wouldn't answer. When you sat on one of the toilets downstairs you lean to the side, it definitely needs repair. She promised our grandkids 2 times she would give them donkey rides but never did and they were sad. If you're not going to do something don't bring it up! 3 weeks later another family we knew went there and had an even worse time with mice in the barndominium than we did in the house. She never apologized about screaming at my entire family the first night, or for anything as far as that goes. The donkeys are great, the owner (or whoever came yelling) isn't. I definitely won't recommend to anyone.

Everyone had a super time! Make sure you wear good solid shoes sometimes the animals get excited and step on your feet ouch... My 3 year old granddaughter got knocked down a couple times but she was tuff. It was a great experience and the kids loved collecting eggs and cooking them.

Great getaway for friends!

Tonya was so friendly and engaging; she gave the kids a tour and the animals were great with the kids. The variety of things to do can’t be beat. The house is spacious with many options for sleeping. The kitchen and the fire pit were the main gathering places… we’re grateful to have had this time spent with friends! Thank you!

Ladies Respite

On very short notice, The Farmhouse was able to accommodate our group of ladies for a weekend respite. Each participant had her own bedroom which was critical to the objective of the weekend. The goats, donkeys, sheep, and chickens were a nice "therapy distraction". Will definitely consider coming back for a weekend in the fall.

Amazing for large groups

Our group was large about 12 people wit several children. The donkeys and goats were amazing. Tonya the host was exceptionally accomodating. Would return.

Weekend Anniversary Celebration

We celebrated my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. All of the kids and grandkids had a comfortable bed for sleeping. We were able to cook our own meals and had plenty of room for playing board games and watching movies together. My favorite part was the large soaking tub! I also loved watching the donkey's from the windows and walking through the woods.

After losing my daddy suddenly this fall, this place was just what our family needed to make this Christmas a happy one. Everything was wonderful. The host was so helpful and the animals were perfect. I hope to come back one day soon!

Reunion getaway

Booked this for thanksgiving get together and highly recommend if looking for countryside experience. Host Tonya was super helpful and even helped kids with feeding the animals. The house is well kept and perfect for families. Will be going back for sure

Wonderful trip

I couldn’t be more positive about the accommodations, the property itself, and all of the activities available for family of all ages. The donkeys provided us muc and entertainment. . The host, Tonya, was very accommodating to all of our requests and made our stay extremely enjoyable

Rehearsal dinner/wedding weekend

My husband and I decided to host the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding at Donkeytown. We also had my mom, siblings and my uncles, and cousins and neice (flower girl) stay with us for the weekend. It was a perfect venue. Everyone loved the farm setting. There were a number of "land mines" to watch out for, but we are on the farm! We had fresh eggs from the chickens, which was wonderful. It was a busy weekend but we had time to slow down and enjoy the country and that was fantastic. Would love to do a family get away with the grandkids next year.

Family fall trip to Donkeytown

We loved staying at Donkeytown. We had the old farmhouse which was perfectly set closest to the ponds, donkeys and chickens. Tonya was such a joy and took the time with our family to ensure we had the best time. We will go again for sure.

Amazing Stay for 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Perfect location for family celebration gathering of 17 people ranging in age from 5 to 71! All had so much fun on the property with so much to do! We all explored the beautiful spots on the property from the donkeys and goats right out our door and all over the property, fishing and kayaking in the ponds, walking and riding on the paths exploring and looking for geodes, making s’mores at the fire pit, collecting eggs from the chickens, playing yard games and toy room activities, etc. The house had plenty of room for all of us to enjoy being together and hanging out for meals and activities inside. Very comfortable and welcoming place to stay! Tonja, the owner, was so accommodating and helpful!

Country living at its best

Everyone had a great time! We had all ages and all the kids had something to do along with the adults. Spent most of our time outside. Enjoying the wonderful property. Ate fresh eggs for breakfast each morning and the kids had a great time collecting those eggs! Everyone was talking about coming back before we even left!

Family get-together

Something for everyone.Loved the animals being out and close for everyone to feed/enjoy. Lots of space. Kitchen was fully stocked with all the dishes/pans we needed.

Donkey Town family reunion

We loved our stay in the farmhouse. Tonya was great at explaining things and showing us around whenever we asked but also giving us our privacy. She supplied us with tools to open the geodes we found on her property and bait to fish in the 2 ponds. We spent every day busy exploring the property. The first day we arrived a baby donkey was born and Tonya took us to visit baby and mom. She gives you access to alfalfa treats and nothing is more fun than a group of donkeys circling you for treats. We will definitely be going back :)

Great spot for friends retreat!

Owner was great and very easy to work with, and quick to answer any questions we had before and during our stay. Farmhouse was great, and had plenty of room and beds for our whole group for our weekend friends retreat. Definitely will be staying here again for our future retreats!
