FOCUS Retreat Group

Jim and all the staff at Lake Godstone were incredible. Our students had a wonderful stay at the lodge and enjoyed many of the available activities and sites. Jim was very generous in offering us more space and activities that we hadn't paid for. Overall it was a wonderful visit.

Annual Family gathering

Nice Place. This was our 2nd year to return. Good lodge facility for a large family gathering. Required Checkout time on last day was a bit early.

Awesome location near Rocker B - baseball teams

Our team really loved our time at the ranch - heads up to everyone though. The long gravel road into the ranch (over 4 miles of county roads) has several winding turns, isn’t properly lit at night and doesn’t have any road signs to indicate some potentially hazardous conditions. One of the parents had a nasty car wreck and his car was totaled at a small bridge location about 1/4 of the way to the ranch on the gravel road. I want to be clear that this isn’t the fault of the ranch - the county should really alert drivers to this danger. Oh - lots of wild animals on the roads as well - we almost hit two wild boars. Be Safe!!! The ranch was absolutely perfect for our weekend baseball event.

Great Business Trip/Retreat Property

We had a great time! Perfect place to conduct a little business and a lot of fishing. Host's and owner were quick to answer questions or provide anything we needed to make it a successful weekend. We'll return for another!

Perfect Family Reunion Spot

We had a great experience for our family reunion at the lodge. The whole family was able to enjoy the lake from youngest to oldest. The fishing was great and we had a blast swimming, kayaking and using the peddle boat.

Great Family & Friend Christmas Party!

The place was perfect! Size, location, activities, property owner, and property managers were all fantastic! Could not have asked for anything more for a wonderful Christmas party with family & friends. We will definitely be returning. :)

Excellent Family Reunion place

Exceptional stay! Wonderful accommodations, excellent communication, Gorgeous property, amazing House Managers to welcome us! Roomy! Loved the decks!!! So many beds!!! Amazing kitchen!! We loved every minute of it! Such a blessed weekend

One of a Kind

Very unique property. we stayed two nights and that was not long enough to enjoy the different things in the property. jim is a great host. kids had a great time fishing and swimming, catching frogs and exploring. the sports court give you some ways to tire the kids out. comfortable beds. we will be back!

Family Outing near Jacksboro TX

Owner is an excellent host as well as staff. Property has outstanding amenities. Owner has ongoing battle with roaches in the main lodge. Beyond that issue, we would seriously consider returning to this property. Great for family gatherings..

Engagement party

We were looking for something to hold our big family, this place had everything we needed. The kids enjoyed the water activities, the adults fished, the sunset was breathtaking. Jim was very attentive to our needs. We will come back.

Absolutely beautiful

So peaceful. The house was well designed to provide adequate space for those that wanted it, and gathering places for social butterflies. We had a blast! Even those that don’t like the outdoors stated they had fun.

Peaceful Paradise

We were able to get a tour of the entire property and everything was so thought out and beautiful and well made. We had the absolute best time. I don't think the kids were out of the water the whole weekend. There was so much to do and yet so much rest we were able to get. We are definitely going to book again.

Another great reunion at the ranch!

We love this property. It has everything we need. It holds lots of people, there's a central living/kitchen area to gather and play games and eat. Two extra meeting/gathering rooms, one screened in, and one balcony. The pond is great for fishing (and there are lots of ponds....we used the one in front of the lodge but there are many more available for "real" fishermen! We utilized the kayaks and rented the boat for the 4-day stay. Highly recommend this lodge.

Perfect location for a large group. We had a high school girl’s volleyball team and the girls loved it. This is the second time we have stayed here and will definitely be back!

Work Retreat

Jim was great to work with and proud of the property they're developing! It was a really good location for our work retreat and had lots of recreation options. There were a couple of things with the housing/meeting space that were different than we were expecting based on the description online, but Jim was quick to try to make things work for our group. Overall, a really beautiful place with lots of things to do - our group had a lot of fun!

Everything was perfect

we rented the big lodge and one of the smaller cabins for our church youth camp. It was absolutely perfect. Great place to host an event or for a nice weekend getaway.

Great for our family reunion

Overall was pleased with the accommodations. There were a few issues but Jim was quick to respond and fix. Like most homes today, there are cameras throughout the house and property. No big deal but there is monitoring. Last 5 or 6 miles to the ranch are dirt road but are smooth and easy to travel even while pulling a boat trailer. Plenty of sleeping setups and house stays cool even in the heat of day and doors opening and closing. Lake is clean and fishing was great. Lodge is on a ranch that has other options for campers throughout the 200 acres so you may or may not be the only ones out there. We had family from all over the South coming in for the family reunion. We saw some beautiful birds and were visited by a hummingbird which were dads favorite. Would easily recommend.

Beautiful location and lodge.

We really enjoyed the lodge, fishing and swimming. The lodge is perfectly set up to accommodate large groups. The lake is not quite be enough for wake boarding, skiing or other off the back of the boat type of sports. Some of the guest mentioned that they were a little uncomfortable with the amount of cameras located in and around the house.

Overall Space:
The lodge on Lake Godstone is set on 188 acres of beautiful forested land near Graford, Texas. It provides a serene escape with abundant wildlife and access to a stocked lake with multiple beaches and docks. The lodge accommodates large groups comfortably with 35 beds (six queen and 29 twin).

Amenities:
Guests can enjoy various amenities including a lit basketball court, sand volleyball court, soccer/baseball practice field, and an observatory with a telescope. The property also offers canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, and a rowboat available for rent. Fishing is fantastic both on Lake Godstone and in three smaller fishing ponds.
