Thank you for taking time to review our cabin. Because the bedrooms are small, we choose queen beds (as advertised), so our guests have more space to move around. If you don't mind, please send us a message letting us know what doors/locks need work as no other guests have mentioned this to us; we will have that checked out right away. Although the cabin is fairly close to the road, most guests find the cabin a peaceful getaway; our price point reflects the location. We do hope you will visit us again. ~Al & Sue

My husband and I had a very relaxing stay. The hot tub was great. Sitting by the pond was very nice. The furniture was comfortable and the WiFi was fast- we were able to stream movies and sports. The cabin is a short drive to Mt Vernon, where we visited a great little book store, coffee shop and microbrewery. We would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was a little to close to a busy street for our dogs. But it was still a nice stay.

We had a good time fishing and using the paddle boat and canoe. The cabin was very nice.

It's a really nice place. Thankfully I saw the reviews about the road traffic, since we both have conditions that are made worse by noise...so we came prepared w/ earplugs. Other than the noise from the road, it's a really nice getaway.

Pretty spot near Mt. Vernon

We stayed 3 nights during a trip to Ohio for a college visit and enjoyed this charming cabin on a pretty little lake. The house worked great and the host was very helpful when we realized how late we would be getting in. Highly recommend!

This place was sooo cute! Loved everything about it. They have a baddleboat and my son and nephew had a blast. They caught huge bass and catfish. They have a grill, fire pit and a nice dock to sit on. If we had warmer weather it would have been perfect. There is a pretty busy road out front. The hosts were very responsive and they leave a nice welcome gift. We will be back when the weather warms up because the boys are obsessed! Thanks for having us!

Shimmering Pond Cabin

This was our second stay with Al and Sue. We had stayed in their other cabin last year. We loved everything about our stay and the property. We are definitely going to book another stay with them. They are the best property owners we have had out of all the VRBO properties we have rented. Ten out of ten!
