Everything was great! The only thing I didnā€™t realize was that the hot tub was not at the house and it looked like guests from all 3 houses would share it.

Super great stay! It was so nice to be unplugged and out in nature. One thing to note: the restaurants nearby have extremely limited hours, so be prepared to drive or bring groceries to cook at home.

Peaceful getaway

My friend and I needed a one night relaxing getaway and this fit the bill perfectly! As always the cabin was immaculately clean and Carol had everything we could need already stocked in the house! Looking forward to coming back in March for a mother/daughter vacay!

Wonderful Family Getaway

My family and I stayed here for a weekend and it was a much needed getaway. The property was beautiful and exactly like the pictures. The cabin was super clean and stocked with all the necessities. The property was better than I expected. Our host, Carol, was very responsive and helpful. The shop on the grounds was well stocked and extremely adorable. We had no complaints and hope to come back and stay again soon.

Beyond our Expectations

Fantastic stay! I bring a big container of stuff I need when we do VRBOs. I didn't have to open it once b/c Carol already thought of everything! Modern amenities, well kept grounds, just wonderful. It's one of those destinations that you want to tell people about but you don't want to b/c you want to keep it a secret for yourself! Travel mugs would be a great addition to the gift shop.

The home is unbelievably warm and inviting - you really feel like you're at home. The best part was the beauty and peace of the property. This place was exceptional! It overly exceeded our expectations. Everything in the house is state of the art. Carol was super friendly, helpful and responsive. She thought of everything I didnā€™t even realize we would need. Everything was already provided. I would highly recommend this to anyone!!

Wonderful!

We were looking for a little getaway from the noise and nonsense. This was a beautiful property where we were able to wander on the most well thought out property. The pond is so peaceful and quiet. I paddled and kayaked for the very first time at 65 :) Everything needed is supplied. We appreciated the little "store" on site, enjoyed the hot tub and all the stars. Our dogs were welcomed and had a blast, we just got back and they are both snoring :) Cheers to owner Carol for providing a wonderful getaway for us City folk! We will defiantly go back in the future.

Very nice!

We were there to RELAX in a QUIET peaceful setting, get away from people and to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. A beautiful, perfect location to do so. The Heron House is so pretty with modern farmhouse decor. Clean except for some minor dusting detail work but Iā€™m picky. Beautiful property! Enjoyed chicken fried steak at McGees cafe. Hubby also had Coconut Cream Pie and I had Carrot Cake and they were both they BEST weā€™ve ever had! Definitely bring food though if youā€™re going to stay more than a couple of days because thereā€™s not many places to eat nearby. We tried the BBQ place and definitely would NOT recommend it. Awful! Coby Ryanā€™s sandwich shop was ok if you like sandwich, soup, salads. Tiny place though so you may want to get it to go. We had a couple of issues but the host was gracious and overall we had a nice little getaway.

10 Stars!

The property met all of our requirements and then some! We specifically wanted a rural rental where we could watch storms without the city lights and noise drowning out the storm - or simply to enjoy peace and quiet away from the city. The best part about this property is the tornado shelter right on the property. Considering the location (high tornado risk) I felt like this amenity definitely needed to be highlighted. The shelter eases your mind so you can sit back and fully enjoy 100% of your vacation even in the event the weather turns ominous. The gate at the driveway entrance makes for added security and peace of mind. The property itself is clean, modern and comfortable. In addition to the home being high above our expectations, the property is enormous, and there are so many places to explore whether by foot or kayak. A game room with SEVERAL options. Books, puzzles, board games, telescopeā€¦or if you just want to relax after being in the car for 13 hours, hit up the hot tub. The lil ā€œgift shopā€ came in handy day one. My husband didnā€™t pack a baseball cap and the horseflies were annoying him. He was able to pick a cap up for a very reasonable price. Host (Carol) is fantastic. Communicates promptly, effectively and manages the property like a well oiled machine. The storm the day before we left was the icing on our vacation cake. Great double rainbow!This is by far our favorite rental that we have discovered, and we look forward to booking again.

Perfect place to rest and be present with family!

Mrs Carol was a wonderful host! The home was very new and beautiful and very well stocked with so much... More than we needed! We LOVED the property with a view of the pond, room (and freedom) for our dog and kids to run around, deer coming to feed, and some pretty hiking nearby in Sulpher. Dogs are family here... Not just tolerated, but welcomed and enjoyed. It was so quiet and relaxing. Beds were cozy. The house warmed so nicely on cold days. And I just can't say enough about Carol taking good care of us -she even took us to see an eagle that was visiting the property.

Peaceful, relaxing and beautiful retreat

We were looking for a quiet, secluded, private place to relax and this place did not disappoint. There are two cabins on the lot, but they are far enough apart to not be intrusive. There are two lakes for fishing and kayaking. Everything that you need is furnished in the house, even down to coffee creamer and bug spray. There is a 24/7 shop next to the cabin that adds a nice touch that has souvenirs, snacks, and drinks. Carol is the most gracious and amazing host. We have found our second family and will be visiting as much as possible!

Once again Carol was the ultimate host! Everything was provided in a very clean house. The serenity of the property is what draws us back. Bonus is we can let our dogs run free! We are already planning our next booking! I would 110% recommend this VRBO to anyone!

Was even better than I imagined!

We rented here to celebrate my son's 33rd birthday and just have a time of quiet relaxation. From the moment we stepped into the Heron house, (one of two cabins on the property), it was clear we would be able to do that and be as comfortable as being at home. The other house was occupied, but we never even knew there were other people there! It was so peaceful and quiet. We kayaked, fished, ,hiked, sat by the no-smoke fire pit, breakfast on the back porch. It was perfect. Everything in the inside of the "cabin" was nicer than a new home! It was evident that there was thought given to every detail of decorating and construction. The best part of the stay was the owner, Carol. What a kind and generous person. She shared her homemade bread with us and I was glad to share my son's birthday cake with her! We can't wait to come back and bring our grandkids. They will love it too!!!
