Cozy 3-bedroom home on the waterfront, dog friendly!

Eagle's Hideaway is a secluded waterfront getaway just an hour outside of Chicago, a mile from historic Route 66.

The home has laminate and stone flooring and is designed so your dog can be included in your getaway in a worry free, comfortable environment.

This cozy river hideaway features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings. Incredible views of the river can be seen from the family room and kitchen. Patio doors off the family room lead out to a deck that overlooks the river. Separate laundry room right off the family room with large capacity washer and dryer. Bathroom features walk in shower. The first bedroom has a king bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. The third bedroom is a low ceiling loft that looks out over the family room and kitchen. It is favorite of adults and kids alike and is referred to as the "Eagle's Nest". The loft is accessible by a hidden ladder in the closet of the king bedroom.

The property also has a unique game room with a 1890's vintage pool table and more incredible views of the river.

Please note, we own a second, smaller home on the far side of the property and it will be listed on VRBO Spring of 2024. If you are interested in renting both properties at once please specify in your initial message. Otherwise there may be other guests occupying that home and the shoreline in front of it.

Booked for location as it was near family who just had a baby. The place was spacious with an amazing river view. It was a peaceful spot to enjoy the view of the river in winter with snow on the ground.

Great Stay

We came to visit family for the first time. We wanted to be able to see the city but not stay in the city. This was just right. Our dog also had a great time at the property.

Beautiful! Perfect for enjoying the outdoors -- several spaces from which to enjoy a lovely view of the river, take a short walk with the dog, etc. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable -- exactly as described. Very much appreciated being able to bring our dog. The property felt very private/secluded even though it's close to town. Great location for both visiting friends / family in the southwestern suburbs and to explore a bit of Route 66. Midewin is close by and a beautiful place to spend time as well -- enjoyed several sunrise walks there. Excellent birding there and on the property! Hope to return again.

Wonderful trip

We had a really great and relaxing time. The place exceeded expectations in a few ways:- Really good internet- Crazy good shower pressure- The kitchen is incredible; the appliances are great. We had a lot of fun cooking food we bought at the local Berkot's grocery store. The store itself was delightful.- Coffee was stocked, and the were k-cups were great for a post-lunch coffeeWe had a lot of fun and really got to relax with the perfect mix of outdoor activities and home comforts.

Beautiful River Stay

Great home on the Kankakee River! Fully stocked kitchen, fun loft bedroom, magnificent views of the river and wildlife. We wish we were there longer and also in warmer weather to enjoy the river. Working with Linda and Natalie was so easy and they were always so accommodating. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

The property was quiet, relaxing and clean. It was everything we imagined. Linda was super responsive and our check in was seamless. I didn't encounter any problems, and I only messaged her on our last day to let her know what a great time we had. Highly recommend!

Dog Friendly Paradise!!!

Our stay was simply amazing. The home was clean and welcoming, with more than enough space for people and pets. River access was perfect - our dog LOVED chasing the dragonflies in the water. We will definitely plan another trip to Eagle's Hideaway. Thanks so much for a lovely week.

Stunning View!

The location and view were great. So pretty, quiet and private. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Had one issue and it was taken care of immediately. We had some luck fishing. We really enjoyed our stay and we will be back!

This was the perfect spot for our family. Everything was clean and beautiful. The kiddo loved going up into the loft area. We loved looking at the river. If weā€™re ever back in Illinois, this is where we will stay!

Exceptionally well stocked and in excellent condition.

The owner was very prompt, professional and friendly during booking and pretrip arrival. The home on the Kankakee River had comfortable furniture, beds and chairs.The kitchen had all high -end and functional appliances. Sadly the weather did not cooperate during our 4 night stay for us to enjoy the various outside seating areas at the house and along the scenic river.We were even allowed to park inside a garage.I would definitely stay here again and reccomend this proprty as a 6 STAR haven!I would

Beautiful riverfront home!

We loved staying at this lovely house! Pretty views and spacious kitchen/living area. Well stocked and well thought out- the owners cleverly and elegantly labeled the drawers! Also, they provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. we really enjoyed it the house and deck with the beautiful view!!

Beautiful and quiet by the river

We enjoyed our stay very much. What a beautiful setting by the river. We wish we had had more time to sit on the deck or by the fire by the river. Hopefully, we will in the future. The property is well-appointed and well cared for. We very much appreciated being able to bring our dogs.

Loved it!

The rental was fantastic! The view from the picture windows looking onto the Kankakee River was breathtaking. We especially enjoyed sitting on the large porch by the river watching the ducks, birds, and geese doing their thing. The house was comfortable and inviting and my great granddaughter loved to play in the loft. I definitely will be renting this lovely peaceful place again!
