We loved the rustic cottage and wonderful harbor view. Morning coffee and evening cocktails on the lawn chairs by the water were so relaxing. Highly recommend this as a bit off grid totally relaxing spot.

The house wildly surpassed my expectations; the photos really don’t do it justice. It’s perfectly located in the center of all we wanted to see. The view over the harbor is breathtaking. We got up to watch sunrise both mornings. The house itself is cute and quaint and very clean. The double bed was incredibly comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for anything better, so pleased we decided to stay here! Very much looking forward to coming back.

The view was absolutely gorgeous and the location was great. The host was communicative and the side porch was lovely to hang out on. Plus the dock was very cool to have access to. Will be back for sure! Note: I think the listing says one of the bedrooms has two beds in it, and that is not correct. Each room has one full bed in it and the living room has a pull out couch. No big deal, just thought it should be noted.

Wonderful cabin with beautiful view!

My husband and I enjoyed spending time in the cabin so much that we couldn’t wait to return from our daytime adventures just to enjoy the space and beautiful harbor views.

Great veiw, great quiet area, great host!

House was ideal for our stay, chairs and table right down by the water , awesome veiw. Short drive to everywhere we wanted to go. Was very very happy with this pick!!!

This house is where you want to be!

This place was clean and comfortable with an amazing view! Being an hour south of Acadia, you get all the beauty that everyone loves about Maine without the crowds. Highly recommend!

quiet and simple getaway

Fun in Main

The house had a great view of the water with many types of boats to see. Easy access to Dear Island and surrounding towns. Quiet and peaceful, just what we needed.

The place and setting were great. Scott was very responsive. The only problem we experienced was the internet was not working very well. We assume it's a problem in the area. It would not keep us from coming back, the setting was amazing and there is a beautiful full view of the water in the living room that keeps changing.

Long weekend getaway

The cottage is beautiful, spacious. We were the first guests of the season. A little glitchy getting in at first. Kitchen was missing a few items, dish towels, oven mitts... Sleeping quarters comfortable and roomy. Pullout couch cery comfortable.

Rustic charm

This was a quaint cottage with a beautiful view. It was secluded and a much needed break from electronics. I could spend all day looking at the view from inside and outside the cottage!

Quiet downeast Maine experience.

Beautiful view at Carters point, comfortable stay away from the busy tourist areas. Manageable drive to Acadia National Park. Activities: Hiking, Bioluminescence Sea Kayaking with Castine Kayak , Great Maine Lumberjack Show, and of course Lobstah!

Mother-daughter trip

The hosts checked in on us several times. They made suggestions for the area and answered questions. The location feels secluded, is super quiet, and has amazing views of the bay and its ever-changing array of boats.

Idyllic

This is a spectacular property overlooking the tidal Benjamin River, seen through the huge windows in the livingroom as well as from a nice outdoor deck, patios and expansive lawn with Adirondack chairs. The beds were super comfy, kitchen had everything we needed, and it was very convenient to get to Deer Isle, Blue Hill and all the other nearby towns. Highly recommended!

Wonderful stay

Everything was wonderful! The view was amazing and the home was clean and had everything we needed. The location is quiet and peaceful while only a 10-15 minute drive for necessities. The biggest challenge is wanting to explore the area but not wanting to leave! We had a minor issue at check-in that was resolved promptly by the host. It was a nice relaxing stay and we would definitely stay again!

Quiet, cozy and beautiful view!

Property is exactly as pictured! Right on the water, amazing views of boats coming in and out of the harbor. Perfect if you are looking to avoid the crowds, just be aware most of the major attractions (Acadia, Bar Harbor, Searsport etc) are about an hour away. There is a decent little grocery store in nearby Blue Hill, and a Walmart and other major outlets in Ellsworth. Definitely worth a stay!

Beautiful view and lovely space

Very beautiful view...wide expanse of windows and *two* new very comfortable couches. Just a lovely, wrll -equipped space. Vicki was extremely nice and responsive. The water iis relatively warm (it's tidal and warms as it comes in)and very swimmable. I would surely stay here again!

June 2022

The house was old, cute and clean. Views were beautiful! Quiet area and stores/dining were about 20 minutes away, so that was nice. Our cellular service was very spotty in the area, so definitely needed Wi-Fi. The only negative was lack of privacy shades in the bathroom and living area, and needed a big mirror in the bathroom sink. We felt too exposed at night time.

We have since added cordless, pull-down shades to the bathroom window and the exterior doors for additional privacy. We have also located a different wifi carrier and installed a new router in the cottage for our guests. We are glad you had a quiet stay and enjoyed the beautiful views!

Relaxing views and a good night's sleep!

We loved our week in this house! As everyone says, the views are just wonderful to have, morning, noon and night. The water was very calm and often like glass. Wildlife included lots of birds and even a dolphin swimming out around the boats. Queen bed was very comfortable for me, and plenty of hot water for showers; kitchen was small but stocked with lots of useful cooking gear! Space was great for playing games, guitar and doing the crosswords together. Much to do in the area, our favorite is Deer Isle, where there are many places to visit. Would definitely recoommend!

Plein Air Painting Retreat

The main room of the cottage is spacious and filled with light glimmering off the Sedgewick Harbor, no matter how gray the day or how low the tide. The bedrooms are small and dark, but there is a pull-out in the living room. The cottage is well equipped for cooking practically anything and the kitchen is nice and clean. There are plenty of towels and warm bedclothes if needed. The cottage sits pretty close to the road, which seems to see only local traffic and friendly people walking. There is a screen on the road side of the patio that makes for a feeling of privacy. Next to the patio is a new shed which was very handy as a studio catch-all for storing wet paintings and painting paraphernalia. Sedgewick is in a great spot for finding water views on the nearby peninsulas and gourmet food and arty gifts in the town of Blue Hill. This cottage seems ideal for adults, not so ideal for young kids. I would recommend it.

(We have added a couple of lamps in the back rooms for additional light after reading. your review I case guests would prefer a. brighter bedroom.) We also love to host guests of all ages and have added some chairs for the "little people" - the big ol' apple tree is also lovely to climb or hammock under for kids young and old alike. A perfect view for your morning coffee

The property was very clean and exactly as pictured. The hosts were very fast to get back to us with any questions we had.. I could not get enough of the beautiful view. I was able to find a lot of Beach glass right at the waters edge and at the dock just down the street. The bedroom with the queen bed is a bit on the tight side. The bed was very comfortable though. I actually forgot I wasn't in my own bed one night. The bathroom is also tight but very manageable. This is in a very quiet area with a good drive to any place of interest. We spent a lot of time driving. The only true issue I had was internet conection. I have cheaper cell phone and I had absolutly no service including texts or phone. I was fine with my laptop. The rest of the family had service, sometimes a little choppy. Overall a wonderful place to stay. I would highly recommend it.
