Relax and enjoy the sound of the river, the smell of pine trees, and the canyon views at this peaceful hideout at the bottom of Nine Mile Canyon. Less than a two-minute drive along Nine Mile Creek and through pine trees to the Center of the Universe (Downtown Wallace, ID).

Enjoy the stars during our beautiful clear nights by a campfire in the backyard. Watch for Moose, Bears, Elk, and all sorts of wildlife! Be sure to take pics and share them with us!

The host is very responsive and easy to work with. The property had not been cleaned (beds still unmade and who knows what else was dirty). The grass had not been cut and was taller than our little dogs. The chairs in the back yard shared space were broken. The steep stairs to the loft along one wall had no handrails. I did not feel comfortable in the home.

This is not the Ritz-Carlton - if that's what you're expecting, stay somewhere else. What it is, is an older two-story house, which shows some wear and tear. But - everything we needed, traveling with our two grandchildren, was there. Bed on the main floor, two beds on the top floor, kitchen with enough "stuff" for us to eat in instead of going out, Wi-Fi, heater that works REALLY well to get the chill out of the house (yes - chill on July 14!!). The host communicated well with us - checking to make sure we got into the house, sending directions and wi-fi instructions in advance. And - the price was right. Cheaper than getting a hotel room that had separate accommodations for the kids... Anyway, enjoyed our short stay. Give it a try!

Quaint little cabin

Came to Idaho to do the Route of the Hiawatha bike trail. This house was perfect for my family of 4. Close to downtown. Not fancy but had everything we needed.

It's like a stay at your Grandmother's house. Close to downtown Wallace, Hiawatha trail, Pulaski tunnel hike. The owner was very great at communicating and was great to work with.

Everything went well. Except when we had gotten there the stuff in the dryer was still wet because the dryer stopped working and the heater stopped working our last night there.

House smelled musty/moldy. Bathroom sink/faucet/mirror and tub were not clean. Dog paw prints were in the bathtub, toothpaste on mirror, faucet and sink.

Dirty home

We knew the property was old, but we didn’t expect it to be so dirty and not clean. We found mouse droppings on the kitchen counter, around the coffee machine, on the end table. The fridge and freezer were dirty. It was hard to sleep in the house 1 night. Se didn’t even have bath towels. We text the owner and she did respond right away and brought over towels. But once we found the mouse poop we decided we couldn’t stay there another night. We asked her to reimburse us for the 2nd night and we’ve gotten no response. It was a bad experience and I’m going to have to really be careful if I want to stay in another vrbo again.

Stay away!

The place had not been cleaned from previous renters. The dryer would start and start to heat, but then present an error message and it smelled hot. There were no clean towels bc of the dryer. The heating system didn’t stay on so they had 4 space heaters. The maintenance man did come even though it was 9pm at night. He said there wasn’t anything he could do because they are waiting for parts. The space heaters got it tolerable, until it tripped the breaker. The breaker was in a creepy basement. The breaker panel had no cover, exposed wires and running water on the floor. That was it for us!! We left early. The owner was apologetic about the lack of cleaning and heat issue. Unfortunately, that did nothing to help us at the moment. I would not recommend staying here.

Hi Jeff, well before your stay, we told you the house would have these issues (heater being worked on, maintenance guy coming in, etc) during the time of your stay. We recommended you cancel the booking. You chose to stay at the house basically for free rather than cancel. We told you we would send our cleaner down to flip the breakers back on so you would not have to. We are sorry you did not enjoy the stay, however it was practically free to you, you also knew all of this going into the stay. Jeff is the type of guest that whines and cries about absolutely everything, even when they are not a paying customer. Most people appreciate a free stay, or free cancellation when something comes up like a broken furnace. Very frustrating guest to deal with, we do not recommend hosting Jeff in your home.

Not our cup of tea

I really wanted to like this place but we had multiple issues with the property. As a positive, the property owner, Jake, was very responsive and helpful where he could be. The house had not been cleaned when we got here but he sent a cleaner over right away and was very apologetic. There are a number of things wrong and unsafe with this property. This is an old house. The wiring is questionable and the ceiling fan wobbles like it’s getting ready to fall out. Many of the lights don’t work and the bathroom light is like a strobe light. Bathroom sink doesn’t drain but at least the shower is nice. Backyard and front parking is shared with the little studio apartment out back… not private as advertised. Glass and metal shards in the back yard as well as an unsecured unused refrigerator. Nine mile road was busy and loud on Friday but better on the weekend. Uneven rickety stairs with no railing. We were glad it was relatively cool at night, because although the listing and says it has air conditioning, there is none. We were glad we brought a couple of fans. Beds were comfortable but don’t plan on sleeping on the front room couch/futon as it is lumpy and springs show through. Nine mile road is busy and loud. There are windows missing in the basement, which could allows easy access to the house as there is no way to lock the door to the main floor. Dead mouse in the basement as well. Overall I would not recommend, especially if you have young kids, due to safety hazards.
