We stayed over the weekend and were really excited about this rental and looking forward to enjoying our stay in St. Louis. Unfortunately, that ended very quickly as we pulled up to the property. We didn’t receive the actual address to the property until the morning of our check-in day and so I wasn’t fully able to check out the neighborhood before actually booking. Due to that, I wasn’t able to see that the property is not in the safest area. It was bad enough that we left a day early. Aside from the location though, walking in we immediately realized that the pictures aren’t everything. There weren’t sheets on the beds, no toilet paper in the bathrooms, dirt on the floors, rotting garlic in the cabinets, noodles on the walls, standing dirty water in the smaller bedroom’s bathroom, rat poop on the chairs in the kitchen, a light hanging from the ceiling in the bigger bedroom, piles of trash on the side of the house, no hand soap anywhere, and I’m not even sure what was in the bottom of the pantry (see pictures below). I contacted the owner about the sheets, the light, the standing water and the WiFi that didn’t work at all, to which he replied an hour later saying that both housekeeping and maintenance would come by and fix everything. The housekeeper did eventually show up but only long enough to throw sheets on the bed real quick. Maintenance however never showed and I never heard from the owner to fix everything else. There’s much more I’m upset about but I can’t type more
