The house was beautiful and exactly what we needed for a group of girls. We loved that there were 4 bathrooms, and enough room for all of us. Chris was quick to respond to everything we needed, and any problems that we had. Would definitely recommend everyone to stay here.

Beautiful Cabin with lake view

That Special Place, was the perfect cabin to bring family together to celebrate Thanksgiving. The house was clean, organized and close to a wonderful state park. We would definitely stay there again!

The house was immaculate. It was updated and cozy. Wonderful view of the lake and 5 minutes from skiing. We plan on doing this again at the same house.

Really is that Special Place

My friends and I️ had such an amazing time at that special place. The host made the check in and out process extremely easy. The house is absolutely gorgeous and much bigger than the pictures make it seem. Plenty of space for 14 people.

The decor was very nice. You really get that cabin feel. It had everything we needed for the stay. My kids enjoyed it. They want to come back for a full week in the summer We really love this area. We don't mind making this our regular vacation place in Oakland.

Perfect House!

We stayed in the house for 3 nights. Host was very responsive. House was perfect for my family - clean and every room has its own bathroom. Location is good, 4 min. drive to the beach. We are thinking of going back in the winter.

Perfect house

The owner answered fast and was very patient and helpful when booking this house. The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s HUGE! It was very clean when we arrived. The home has plates, silverware, and grilling tools which was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Our stay was very comfortable. The property is very nice and the furnishings are fabulous. The queen size bunk beds were so amazing and gave our family plenty of room to stretch out. The owner was more than pleasurable to deal with and answered our questions quickly and gave us lots of helpful info about the area. Highly recommend this owner and especially this property! Thanks for a great experience!

Charming log cabin with lake view

"That Special Place" offers a wonderful porch with a nice water view. Perfect for morning coffee and late afternoon wine time. Gathering around the fire pit in the evening was another favorite there. This was our family vacation with 10 adults and 2 little doggies. The cabin is nicely furnished, very clean and comfortable. We're already talking about next summer's return.

1-Night Stay at That Special Place

We only stayed one night at That Special Place while passing thru Deep Creek, but the house is amazing. It's a beautiful log cabin that has plenty of space for a large group to gather, dine, and sleep. It was very easy to communicate with Chris, the property manager, and he responded quickly to questions. The still image from the movie Step Brothers in the double bunk-bed room is hilarious!

Wonderful getaway

So pleased with this property! We were all able to spread out or enjoy each other’s company. Several of us enjoyed the hot tub although it felt slimy on the bottom… not sure if that’s typical. We would definitely stay here again if we ever had plans to revisit the area. We visited the falls and did a little shopping at some antique stores. Can’t do much in one day since most places were closed on Sunday. Chris was very nice to even give me a call the night before

The Last Rodeo

Our overall trip was great. There were a few flaws that could be easily fixed. The place would improve with an upgraded fridge, ours failed to keep a cool temp. An ice maker would be ideal. The hot tub was in need of a treatment, it was emitting a funky smell. A few more towels would also be an improvement. The location is close to our preferred restaurants and.adventures.

Thank you for the review. We provide 14 towels for each check in. I have had no complaints about the fridge. I am guessing maybe the previous guest turned up the temperature. The fridge is only 2 years old. The hot tub is cleaned by an outside service. I had a death in the family when i sent the schedule in and didn't have my head on straight when I sent it. My mistake. The hot tub is usually cleaned after every guest. My phone number is on the fridge if there are any issues. I respond immediately. I did not get a single text or email from you. I would of sent my staff immediately to provide more towels, clean the hot tub and turn down the fridge to the temperature you would like.

Chris is the best host!

What a cabin! The location was perfect! The size of the house Was perfect for my family. Everyone loved having their own bathrooms. The bunkhouse was perfect for the kids. Our family really enjoyed the fire pit. S’more”s and mountain pies every night. Hot tub on the lower deck was great also. My favorite part of the cabin was the upper deck. Love to have my tea out there overlooking the lake in the morning before we started our day. So many activities to keep your family busy. We went boating, kayaking, rafting at ohiopyle , Golfing, mini golfing etc. The state park was very close. Had very nice beaches with a lot of picnic tables, great hiking Trails, an aviary and Discovery Center, deer that come right up to you. Honi-Honi bar was very close and a fun place for the evening. I have rented from a lot of different hosts. Chris is tops. Great communication skills. Always got back to you very fast Would highly recommend for a great family vacation

AMAZING Stay!

My family and I had a great time at Chris' property. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom, which is so comfortable and convenient for my family! There was even a bedroom on the ground floor with a step-in shower which was perfect for my 70 year old Mother. The view is completely beautiful. You can see the water from the top deck, and it provided a great place to have a drink, grill , rest and be together. The grill came in super handy feeding 7 people, and we used it every day we were there. (The two dogs also really enjoyed being able to survey that land from up there!) The hot tub was a marvelous amenity, was clean and worked very well. It was perfect for a drink and a soak after hiking the nearby trails. Kitchen is wells stocked with dishes. Even our party of 7 never ran out of cups, bowls, or plates. The most important thing for me is that the property was CLEAN. Literally spotless. The individual temperature control in each room was also a benefit, as we have varying levels of hot and cold bloodedness in the family. :) This was a great place to vacation and we would love to come back again!
