Fox Den Cabin Sleeps up to 18 ADA Compliant main floor w/ Hot Tub

Our newly completed (2022) Fox Den Cabin will be perfect for your large family and friends vacation or an amazing space for a Corporate Retreat!

Plenty of room and some amazing amenities for everyone to enjoy! 3 floors of fabulous! 8 King bedrooms each with its own private bathroom.

The main floor is ADA compliant which includes the (available upon request) hydraulic lift for the hot tub. Wood burning fireplace, covered grilling area and fire pit.

The Hot tub on the Screened porch is the perfect relaxation after a good night's sleep or an invigorating day of hiking. Kitchen and Dining area on the main floor as well as a kitchenette in the downstairs.

Downstairs theater/game room area features 82" smart tv, pingpong table, air hockey, foosball, and a video arcade game. Our conference table will set up to 12 and there are extra chairs available.

The 3rd floor area features darts and a pool table as well as 2 fold out King sleepers.

The outside porch with 2 swings is located on the main floor with a view of our own "Gator Lake" (pond) just across the way. Enjoy the relaxing outdoors and the wildlife sounds while you swing. Gator Lake also has swing areas, paddle boats (and life jackets) as well as a nice sandy beach area.

Fox Den was by far the best cabin we have ever stayed in, whether at Massanutten area or OBX. The layout and quietness were top notch! The amenities provided were very complete. I understand that turnaround can be be a challenge for housekeeping but this place was immaculate.A couple of questions and one issue early on, were immediately answered and addressed.We will definitely stay here aagain!

The house is as beautiful in person as it looks in the pictures. The grounds are pretty. The game room is spacious. The fire pit is nice. We were out of propane for the outdoor grill on Saturday at 6:00 pm. I contacted the owner on line and she had a new propane tank delivered to the house in 20 minutes!

Family Reunion 2025

Excellent venue for hosting a multi generation family reunion. Bedrooms with bathrooms a plus, lots of amenities (games, fire pit, space to engage in many activities), mini kitchen in basement, close by playground and pond across the street were all appreciated. Great communication with host, east check-in and departure procedures.

Awesome!

This was the perfect location for our large family. We spent the day at massanutten ski resort. We easily drove from the cabin to resort in about 15 minutes. The cabin had plenty things to entertain everyone. I would love to stay again in the summer.

Wonderful family vacation

The property was beautiful and wonderfully kept. The response and general communication from the property manager was phenomenal. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The amenities kept everyone entertained for days!

A Thanksgiving to remember

Our extended family spent 3 nights over Thanksgiving at Fox Den. It was a perfect fit for us. All bedrooms with their own bathrooms was such a convenience. We loved the themed decorations and all the provided activities. The house keeper and grounds worker were wonderfully helpful and gave us immediate attention. I would highly recommend any of the rentals on this property!

60th Anniversary and 80th Birthday Celebration

Everything was true to the listing. It was perfect for our family of 20! Lots to do at the cabin as well as the surrounding area. Some hiked, some golfed, some fished. And there was so much room to have a family game night every night. The teenagers loved the game room. Only wish we could have stayed the entire week. Thank you! We will definitely recommend to others!

Fabulous stay at Fox Den!

Fox Den was a fantastic place to enjoy my 60th birthday with family and friends. We loved everything about the beautiful home and appreciate all the upscale extra touches. The home itself is so tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking. But we typically ordered meals out from nearby yummy restaurants. The location is perfect to nearby Shenandoah National Park and hiking trails. We enjoyed watching football games on the large screen TV, and all the A-V equipment in the huge walk out rec room made for a fun night of karakoe. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom for full privacy. I did not realize that the cabin is part of a complex with other cabins, so this would be an ideal place to host an even larger family reunion or place for several families to stay while attending a wedding or family event. The beautiful rural scenery with cows grazing in the distance made for fantastic photos. The check-in/out process was easy and simple. I can't wait to go back! It was absolutely perfect from start to finish!

Hughes/Garr Wedding Weekend

Fox Den was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding with all of our adult children and their children! We played every game in the game room, had S'mores and told stories by the firepit, used the paddleboats, and in general, enjoyed every moment of our time in the Shenandoah valley. We truly hope to be able to return again to enjoy this lovely home.

We had a family reunion with relatives from Alaska and Seattle. An ideal spot with something for everyone. Games in the house, fishing, paddle boats, a trip to Luray Caverns.We all had a great time. Thank you.

Great House, Excellent Communications

My family has rented vacation properties across the country for 30 years, and Fox Den is one the best. We were a family group of 16 adults and 4 kids and the house checked all of our boxes. The single strongest element of the entire process was the fast, responsive and professional communications from Terye, the property manager. We had questions before arrival, shortly after checking in and while there. She responded within minutes with exactly what we needed every time. Everyone commented on the comfortable beds and pillows. The kitchen was well stocked with small appliances, pots and pans and enough service for all of us. Some kitchen towels would have helped. Bathroom towels and wash cloths were ample. The dedicated ice-maker was a plus. The layout of the house really worked well with several areas for gathering and conversation. We also enjoyed the fire pit (after the evenings cooled off a bit!). The ample night lights were a nice touch. If you have young kids, they will love the playground and the "kid's house" complete with a "kitchen" and loft. The location worked well for us; halfway between Luray and Elkton with easy access to Shenandoah NP and Skyline Drive. It was a great week at a super house!

Beautiful!

What a beautiful house to have our family reunion! Our daughter was married in Shenandoah Nat'l Park, and this was the perfect place to combine our small two family gathering. Beds are super comfy! The house is well appointed with everything we needed. I will say, the serve ware (large plates, bowls) was a little lacking, but we made do! with 18 of us staying, we found everything we needed. Plenty of room to set up our yard games. The kids loved the "beach", paddle boats and play ground area. The individual bathrooms were awesome, especially when getting ready for your hike/ceremony at the Park! Luray is a cute little town, the caverns are great. Grocery stores are close--20 minutes, so it was easy to get stocked for the "gang". I will say I had wished for a vacuum and a mop a couple of times. It was a lot of traffic to keep sweeping up after. I would definitely recommend this property if you are looking for a place big enough for a large group. Plenty to do and a great location.

Family Fun at Fox Den Cabin

We had 4 generations at the beautiful Fox Den Cabin. There were 8 large bedrooms, each with a private bath. The younger families took the lower level with easy access to the air hockey, pool table and other toys as well as access to the second kitchen. The little boys loved playing with their trucks on the clean sandy beach at Gator Lake and the kids all enjoyed catch and release fishing. We were amazed at the size of the catfish by the way. There were plenty of chairs around the big fire-pit and a generous amount of wood. We enjoyed smores every evening. We appreciated the large gated front deck and were able to relax without worrying that the kids or the dogs would fall off. The cabin was spacious, spotless and comfortable. There were a couple of minor issues. The icemaker stopped working. The Property Manager answered our call immediately and someone arrived within minutes. They couldn't fix it so we just bought some ice. We had trouble regulating the heating and cooling. We couldn't find a broom and the rechargeable vacuum did not work well. All very minor and did not impact our fun at all. Loved the property and hope to return very soon.

Birthday weekend

My wife loved her birthday weekend at Fox den! The kids in the family had a blast and the older family members loved evening fires in the living room. Wonderful spot!

Great for large groups!

We left our stayed at The Fox Den with a group of friends (6 couples, 1 child, and 2 babies, and 2 dogs) and everyone had the best time! The house is incredibly well thought out, with both cozy private bedrooms (with their own bathrooms), and large comfortable group hang out areas. The game areas, hot tub, large kitchen, and fire pit were all great too! I’m sure we’ll be back next year :)

Beautiful, spacious home

The Fox den was a lovely escape. Rustic feel, but with all the top line amenities you could hope for. The beds were comfortable, house was very clean, and the kids loved the downstairs gaming area. There are walking trails and plenty of nature to enjoy. We had a lovely visit!

Amazing house and location!

This house was everything I wanted it to be, and more. We needed a house for our family and friends, as we were getting married in Shenandoah National Park. We wanted a place that had some entertainment but most importantly, was accessible. Finding an accessible home is not easy and while some homes have ramps, they do not have this level of accessibility (roll in showers, lift for hot tub, etc). Every member of our family could enjoy the amenities as a result. We loved the fireplace on cold nights, we used the grill often, and we played downstairs a lot (my niece and nephew really loved air hockey). The beds were so comfortable and it was generally just a great place for a bunch of people to relax and enjoy time together. On the property, there was a lake with paddle boats and a playground (again my niece and nephew LOVED this). This property was close to the national park, wineries, breweries, great restaurants (highly recommend Hank's BBQ). I could not recommend this place enough! PLUS, Terye was a fantastic communicator and made everything so easy. THANK YOU for making our wedding such a magical and perfect weekend.

“Super Size Me”

This summer our friends and family decided to spend some time away from hustle and bustle of the city to a more quiet and refreshing place close by. We stumbled upon Steven & Nancy Jo Shelton’s property; The Fox Den Cabin!!! I don’t think I have a word that could describe it …. It was simply amazing!!!!! With all the bells and whistles that one could imagine of before booking. They have really put a lot of thought when designing and constructing this cabin as it has everything to keep large group occupied for days … it has large bathrooms… king size beds in each room….large screen televisions…fireplaces (indoor & outdoor)… grill… pool take … ping pong table…. Foosball… air hockey…air hockey table…... karaoke….ARCADE GAMES and HOT TUB!!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed it and tried to everything!! Hoping to visit the cabin again for a longer period!!!
