Built in 2010, The Cabin at Trout Creek offers you an amazing family getaway or small group retreat. Set on 3 1/2 acres with over a million acres of San Isabel National Forest out the front door, this 3000 ft2 cabin offers its guests peace and seclusion yet easy access to nearly unlimited outdoor activities only minutes away. With views in every direction, the cabin has been designed to match the beauty of the creation that surrounds it.

The decor is rustic, yet beautiful, with a distinct mountain feel. Down to the smallest detail, much thought has been given to create an ideal setting for a family vacation or small group getaway. From luxurious towels to fun, built in bunk beds the kids will love, you will find the cabin has everything you need and so much more. Enjoy a peaceful cup of coffee on our 600 ft2 deck or walk to San Isabel National Forest. After a day of activity, come back and enjoy a board game in front of the stone gas fireplace, read a book in the loft, or choose to watch a HD movie from our huge selection of DVDs. The cabin is intentionally designed to be big enough to vacation with Grandma and Grandpa or another family, yet not too big if you are a small family on a summer getaway.

If you want to get out and explore the area, you will find there are more things to do than you have time for! Buena Vista is home to the Arkansas River, providing world-class whitewater rafting and fly fishing. It also hosts the largest concentration of 14,000+ foot mountains in Colorado, offering spectacular scenery and endless outdoor activity (hiking, horseback riding, ATV and bike rentals, etc.). The lively town of Buena Vista is only 15 minutes away and offers many activities, restaurants, and shops.

Great time with Family in this great 4 BR Mountain Getaway

Our whole family was very impressed with this 4 BR Mountain Getaway. There was enough space for everyone to kick back and relax. The beds where very comfortable and the view were awesome.

Outstanding Property

Great family time outside of Buena Vista

My family, my brother’s family, and our parents met here and enjoyed our week. It takes about 20 - 25 minutes to drive into Buena Vista from here. The view from the house is lovely, and there were deer all over the property. The kitchens and bathrooms were well equipped, and there was plenty of space for our group!

Family weekend

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. We rented an ATV and everyone had a blast driving it. It really was a perfect weekend.

Beautiful cabin

It was a beautiful cabin facing a lovely valley. It was peaceful and we felt very safe. The cabin is lovely, it was clean and the host was so accommodating. It was a wonderful weekend get away. We are saving the information for this property to rent it again.

Family mountain getaway

Had a fantastic time with my boys, brother and father. We did white water rafting down the Arkansas river and hiking in BV. Scenery around the cabin is beautiful!!!

This is our 2nd stay at this lovely property! It accomodates our family so well. Quiet, warm, welcoming and perfect for gatherings. We all enjoyed our stay, and Judy is GREAT at communication. We would highly recommend this property.

Perfect place for a true get away!

This cabin was built for families! My entire family-parents, 2 sisters, my husband and I and our 2 children-spent the 4th of July weekend here. We spent every night sitting in the comfortable living room telling stories and laughing. It felt like home as soon as we walked in and we were all very sad to leave it. The owners and caretakers of this cabin have created a beautiful, thoughtful and loving place to build memories. I can’t wait to stay again.

Early Christmas getaway

The property was beautiful! The bedroom configurations were a bit unusual, but as advertised. It was easy to get to and we all had a great time. The lack of the fireplace working was quite disappointing, but, the owner did let us know a couple of days in advance of this. Thought maybe a small refund would've been in order, since it really was a selling point. All in all, a wonderful trip with a hike nearby to boot!

Perfect Mountain Retreat

Our family absolutely loved being together at this property. Our kids (17, 19 & 22) couldn't stop saying how great this place is. It is private, and perfect for families. It has a great little nook upstairs if someone needs to get stuff done. We sat in the living area with a coffee every morning for hours. The view from the living area if more than a photo can capture. Plan time to do nothing here. Nothing turns into something special if you relax and think and talk together. This property is on the edge of National Forest and so perfect for walks with your doggie and exploring. We'll be back.

10/10 Recommend!

This place was absolutely beautiful! Honestly the pictures do not do justice! We wish we stayed a few more days to really enjoy the cabin. The only flaw is the dumpster is 10 mins away and you need a key for it. You can leave a minimum of two trash bags otherwise you will be charged. We ended up putting our trash in the back of our truck and driving it back to our house.

Our goal has been to create a place that not only provides peace and relaxation, but that inspires its guests to connect with family and friends, with God and His creation.

The area in and around Buena Vista is amazing--the scenery is spectacular and the activities available are virtually unlimited. Our cabin is only 15 minutes from town which allows easy access to restaurants and shopping, yet offers us the quiet and beauty of a mountain getaway that is so important to us.

As we built this cabin, we have been very intentional about everything from the location of the land purchased to the smallest detail in decorating each room. For both us and our guests we want the cabin to be a place that has everything we need to either tuck in for a few days without driving anywhere or be a homebase for an activity filled vacation.
